No Rescue Required Maggie Kelley

Description:

Sports agent Ryan Callahan’s trip is a complete disaster. Not only did he fail to sign a promising young ballplayer, but now he’s stranded in a Kentucky town no bigger than a bourbon ball. His plane’s been canceled, there’s not a cab to be found, and getting back to New York City is gonna take a miracle. Like a quirky, strawberry-blonde florist with a big van and a craving for late-night, deep-fried hot dogs…

With her best friend’s wedding and her business on the line, Sabrina Hayes needs to be in New York like yesterday. But with her flight canceled and her bank account almost as empty as her gas tank, an extra passenger might just be the long-overdue lucky charm Sabrina needs…especially now that she knows he’s definitely not a serial killer disguised as a scrumptious Thor look-alike.

Somewhere between a roadside stand that serves food as fast as it serves weddings, a motel room haunted by a lovesick ghost, and a car race known as the Snowball 500, Sabrina and Ryan are about to discover that anything that can go wrong will go hilariously wrong. But even they are not prepared for what’s in store on the road ahead…

My Review:

This is a new to me author, so I have not read anything else in the series. That being said though I don’t feel like I need to, to read this book. It does bring up the other characters from the other books. Now on to this story, it was super cute story, it gave off Hallmark vibes for sure. I loved Sabrina she was so sweet and had the biggest heart but she wanted to guard her self from the pain of love. Ryan was the jock who didn’t make it and felt like he lost a part of who he was and kept trying to find who he was. He was kind but also came off like a bit conceded and better then. The story was overall fun read, very predictable, but if you love a good Hallmark movie then this is for you. This book does contain sex so may not be suitable for readers.

My Review:

Its been a minute since I caught up with the Rossi Family and this was a fun read to do that with. With this group it feel like you are catching up with friends you haven’t talk to in a while! I really liked Max he had a big heart and felt with a blow that so many families deal with and some done come out of without deep everlasting scars. Yet with Max who took it on the chin and was determined to leave the world a better place. Angelica and Cosima seemed more like sister and had each others back and  would take on just about anything even if a little mischief was involved. They were both very determined to do great things even if it meant starting over. They were so fun to read about each had a large personally with a gentle spirit. The only thing is in the end I wanted to read move of Cosima story so I hope this is not the last we read of her. This book does contain sex so it may not be suitable for all readers. Overall it was a fun read and well worth it.

If only her heart could ignore the sparks that flare between them.

They’re already keeping the family’s lottery win a secret from the town. Can they also hide their budding romance during the most magical time of year?

My Review:

They say money makes everything better, but does it really. This is a new to me author and I Have to say I was not disappointed at all! I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see where these characters go next. I felt like the storyline was also new not something I had read before, its like the author dreamed up what would happen in real life and put in one paper. I really liked the whole family, however I did find Xander to be a bit of a mystery to me but in a way that makes you want to know more and see who he really is. I loved Ava and her huge heart for those who she truly loved and cared for. Josh grew up fast due to circumstances beyond his control but he still wanted what was best for his family. Carly was little miss independent also had a heart of gold but don’t get in her way if you mess with the wrong person because she is a spit fire and ready to go to bat for the ones who just need someone on their side. Overall the author kept this a clean book and has a way of putting you right there in the middle of the story. This book did not disappoint and I can’t wait for more.

Book 5:

My Review:I thought this story was super cute and as always I love catching up with the Blackwell Family. Big E and Denny will have you laughing with there antics. My heart broke for Adele she had this big heart and big spirit and will stop at nothing to help those she cares about, but it also felt like a lot of people were trying to break her spirit to make her get in line with there way. Grady was Grady he wanted to do what was morally right but he also had to up hold the law and he was not too please with those forcing his hands. He took nothing from no one at the end of the day. The Blackwells are so fun to read and I love that the author keeps things clean so that its suitable for all readers.

Each book in the Windsong series is STANDALONE:
* The Wedding Crasher and the Cowboy
* The Matchmaker and the Cowboy

My Review:I really liked this book, I loved how the author draws you in and make you feel like you are in the think of it. I felt that with Hunter he loved everyone in his life so wholeheartedly, that he didn’t seem to know any other way. He wanted what was best for everyone in his life including his small town, but he also wanted to show his family he was no longer the “kid”. I felt with Callie she took a little to grow on me but she had this big heart and guarded it with her life because being hurt and feeling rejection was just not something she wanted to have to face over and over again. She too really loved wholeheartedly but she was different in the sense she was so guard so her love was where and who to chose. I really loved there relationships in this book between Nova and Callie and then The Owens family opening their door to people it really sums up that you get to pick your family and that blood doesn’t always make you family. I can’t wait to read more from this group I feel like the Journey for this group of friends is just beginning. Overall this book was a fun read, there is adult content and sex in this book so it may not be suitable for all reads.

Bonus Content: Includes exclusive Christmas recipes from Love Always, Christmas.

My Review:

I was really torn with this book. I really loved how the book started with Libby and Adam arguing I was laughing so hard and that will sum up the overall book. It will have you laughing and crying and laughing so hard again. I loved CECE she was a pistol and who would not want to have a Cece in there corner. I liked Adam while he was a instigator sometimes he also had a huge heart and truly loved those in his life. Libby was a workaholic who needed to find balance in her life but she also really had a good heart. What I had a hard time with in this story It just felt that the author described things a little too much, to me it just was like ok great the snow is white can we get back to the story. I did like how the author kept it clean and it was really fun read. I will say it does put you in the Christmas spirit.

My Review:

This is a new to me author I will say I thought this book was a fun read. In the middle of it the one thing that came to mind was “hot mess express”. Obviously when you take to strong headed people you are bound to have some lack of communication and this was very much the case in this story. Lucy loss her parents young and is a fighter and a romantic at heart and will do anything for those she loves and cares about including her small town. Carter on the other had I found very stuck up and selfish and was looking to find away to prove himself to his family, he seeks out to find himself. Overall this book was a fun read and a clean read so I would say its suitable for all readers.

Cowboy on the Run Anne McAllister

Once his college sweetheart, strong-willed, stubborn Ellie is now a widowed mother of four. Four? Rance should be running for the hills. Instead he lingers, then settles in, determined to help save her family’s ranch for Josh, her eldest son.

Ellie doesn’t want help. She doesn’t want Rance! Well, actually she does. But he won’t stay. Not forever.

So he needs to leave now. Before she falls for him again. Before her willpower crumbles. But mostly before Rance notices that Josh looks far too much like him!

My Review:

SO my favorite line in this story was “Last I heard homicide was illegal in Montana”. I feel like when the characters are faced with some really tough subjects that author will throw in a line like this that will have you laughing. I like Rance he seemed like he had a big heart and sought out to do what was right even when it didn’t make sense. I felt like Ellie was tough and strong yet also came off broken and just looking to hang in there for her kids. I will say there is adult topics and content that may not be suitable for all readers. Overall was a fun read.

Will the seeds of love, still growing inside them, thrive and flourish? Or will grief and regret strangle the feelings before they can fully blossom?

My Review:

This book was really good. There are so many emotions with this story. While it was tough to read sometimes, it was also hard to put down. I really like Gavin he faced a lot and took on all he lived in his pain but also tried to find a way to heal. Laurel came of super insecure throughout the book and it came of sometime as whiney. However she worked really hard to find healing in the pain. I felt this book was pretty original its not something you read about in christian fiction and it was very refreshing. I will say the author does switch back and forth from the present to the past and in the beginning it takes a minute to realize but you do catch on quick when the switch goes on. Overall this is a clean read and I would totally recommend its well worth the read.

The Stardust Cowboy Anne McAllister

Description:

He is nobody’s hero…

Wyoming rancher Riley Stratton has nothing in common with his newly discovered young nephew Jake’s imaginary “stardust cowboy”—the one who makes dreams come true. Riley’s own dreams died so many years ago, he doesn’t even think about them anymore. Now he just works hard, doing his duty by the family ranch. He knows it’s only fair to buy out Jake’s half.

Trouble is, Jake has dreams too. After inheriting half a ranch, Jake’s boyish dreams of becoming a cowboy are alive and well. Which means Riley’s world is about to expand to include Jake’s fiercely determined, seriously tempting mother, Dori Malone, too. And much to Riley’s dismay, Dori stirs his dormant dreams to life.

But Riley doesn’t trust those dreams. He doesn’t trust Dori. He gave his heart once and won’t do it again. Some men are made for love. Others, like Riley, are made for duty. And some dreams not even Jake’s “stardust cowboy” can make come true. Or can they?

My Review:

When I first thought when I started this book was why is this grown man acting like a spoiled child only to keep reading and realizing the author started the book with a child! I end up really liking Jake you could tell he was a determined kid with stars in his eyes and no one was going to stop him from letting his dreams come true and that he could not do something in life. I liked Dori as well she seemed like a fighter as well and why some of her story didn’t always show that you could see where Jack got his fighting spirit from. I was not a huge fan of Riley he seemed like a big push over and not take charge kind of cowboy I was expecting for this situation. In the end I wanted so much more from this group of friends. I wanted to know more about Trish and Jeff even thought I was not a huge fan of Trish I liked Jeff he seemed like a a really good guy. Overall I really enjoyed this fun book, I will say this book does contain adult situations so it may not be suitable for all readers.
