Serial Burn Lynette Eason

Description:

She’s out for justice. But the arsonist she’s tracking is out for retribution.

Now the fire marshal of Lake City, Jesslyn McCormick is determined to find the person who started the fire that robbed her of her family when she was just seven years old. As the twentieth anniversary of the tragedy approaches, a string of fires–including at Jesslyn’s church–brings up all those old feelings and offers new evidence.

Because church fires are considered a hate crime, FBI Special Agent Nathan Carlisle is called in to work with local law enforcement. Nathan has his own past–one he’d prefer not to revisit. And focusing on helping Jesslyn track down the arsonist is a great distraction.

As both the case and the chemistry between Jesslyn and Nathan heat up, memories will come flooding in from the past to bump up against hopes for the future. And when Jesslyn comes face-to-face with her worst nightmare, she’ll have to confront her fears and rely on Nathan and her community of friends in order to survive.

My Review:

I really could not put this book down. This book did not disappoint at all and the whole book I sweat I thought I had it all figured out it could only be the person I guessed right, Wrong. The author keeps you guessing and then when we finally revels I am like no way I did not see that coming!!! I liked how the author did not finish the book on a cliff hanger or leave you trying to figure out what happens :”next”. I really like Jesslyn and her friends they all had each others backs and when one was faced with something everyone would rally around and help out anyway they can. I liked Nathan he really faced some really tough situations and he didn’t let that hold him back trying to help those out and trying to heal. There was a situation between Nathan and his brother Eli, while I have see other authors try and approach this subject lightly this author took it head and did not sugar coat it. Its something people deal with all the time and it was nice to see her address it from a christian aspect with out a whole lot of judgement coming off the pages. Overall I would recommend this book to just about any one there are tough topics but it will keep you on the edge of your seat and its well worth the read.

Counting on a Cowboy Sara Richardson

Description:

In this sizzling, sassy western romance, she’s been burned by too many cowboys—but can this rodeo rider convince her he’s worth the risk?

Retired SEAL Thatch Hearst never thought he’d put down roots, but four years in Star Valley as a bronc rider has him calling the town home. All he needs now is to earn some real money by competing in the big leagues. He’ll have his chance with the town’s upcoming rodeo days, but first he needs to improve his scores. Running out of time—and ideas—Thatch enlists the help of a local yoga instructor, hoping to gain an extra edge.

Lyric Valenza has worked with difficult clients, but this ruggedly handsome cowboy might just be her biggest challenge. Marrying a cowboy was the biggest mistake of her life, and after her divorce, she vowed she’d never again need a man. Only the more time she spends with Thatch, the more she realizes there’s a difference between needing and wanting someone—and this cowboy may just be the one person she doesn’t want to be without.

My Review:

I really enjoyed this book it! Its one of those book that you just feel part of the friend group and you can’t wait for more. Thatch has this big heart but he doesn’t want to put himself out there for someone again who doesn’t or can’t love him as much as he loves them. He cares so deeply for his friends and would do anything for them. Lyric is a broken soul just looking to move past something that seems to continue to haunt her years later. She loves her friends but alway has no problem keep everyone at arms length. I loved Thatch’s dad I could not stop laughing at his silliness. This is a small town with big hearts and they will help everyone which is pretty amazing. This book does have some tough topics and sexual content so it may not be suitable for all. Overall it was a fun read and worth the read.

Must Love Flowers Debbie Macomber

Description:

Two women at different stages of life find themselves on a journey of renewal after undergoing hardships in this uplifting novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber.

“Wise, warm, witty, and charmingly full of hope, this story celebrates the surprising and unexpected ways that family, friendship, and love can lift us up.”—Kristin Hannah, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Four Winds

Joan Sample is not living the life she expected. Now a widow and an empty-nester, she has become by her own admission something of a recluse. But after another birthday spent alone, she is finally inclined to listen to her sister, who has been begging Joan to reengage with the world. With Emmie’s support, Joan gathers the courage to take some long-awaited steps: hiring someone to tame her overgrown garden, joining a grief support group, and even renting out a room to a local college student. Before long Joan is starting to feel a little like herself again.

Across town, Maggie Herbert works mornings as a barista, tending to impatient customers before rushing to afternoon nursing classes. She lives with her alcoholic father, ducking his temperamental outbursts and struggling to pay the household bills. But her circumstances brighten when she finds a room for rent in Joan’s home. In the unexpected warmth of her new situation, Maggie finds a glimmer of hope for a better life. But will Maggie’s budding attraction to one of her favorite customers ruin the harmony she’s only recently found with Joan? Meanwhile, what is Joan to make of the mysterious landscaper who’s been revitalizing her garden—a man who seems to harbor a past loss of his own?

As Maggie and Joan confront difficult life choices, they draw strength from this new friendship in surprising ways—discovering in the process that “found family” is often the very best kind.

My Review:

I really liked this book. I grabbed based on the author alone not reading what the story was going to be about, and I was not disappointed. I loved this group of friends/family they were just a group of broken people on the journey to finding healing and love. Joan in her hurt found away to help Maggie who was also hurting while working to live without those they have lost and loved and dealing with and processing the grief of it all. The author discussed covid but the way she did it played so well into the story it just felt like these characters walked through the same journey the rest of the world did without the author putting to much emphasis on covid. At first I would have loved to slap Steve and Nick but they too were on there own journey to healing and finding themselves that there actions just made sense and it was hard to not like them in the end. Phil was one of this people who when he spoke people noticed and listened. Overall this book was refreshing and well worth the read. The author kept the story clean to it would be suitable for all readers.

Blind Trust Natalie Walters

Description:

Unfortunately, she’s going to need the help of the one person who questions her reckless choices more than anyone else.

Dealing with bombs is dangerous. Working with Lyla is proving to be just as treacherous–to both the mission and his heart.

Natalie Walters closes out her SNAP Agency series with a bang with this nail-biting story of a deadly government conspiracy, an unlikely couple, and an ending that will leave you breathless.

My Review:

This book was really good, I had a hard time putting down. I found the relationship with Lyla and Kekoa was so fun it had me laughing so hard in points where it should have been serious. The author throw some twist in there I was not expecting, it will defiantly keep you guessing from the beginning to the end. I really like how the relationship between this group of friends felt more like a close nit family. I really enjoyed the relationship with Lyla and family while Layla was a risk taker and super independent she had the support of all her family. The author kept this book clean and it will have you on the edge of your seat. So worth the read.

My Review:

If you have been following along with The Monroe Family this book was a fun way to catch up with the family but also read about another member. I feel like in each book it can hit a person different but I found this book very emotional. I really like Kendall she had a hard shell that needs to be cracked but she was taking life as it was handed to her and she was grabbing by the horns. She was a fighter and super independent and no job was to dirty for her. I loved Lizzie she was a pistol with an old soul and was ready to grab at love for anyone or anything in her life. Finn had to grow on my a little bit but he was also someone who faced a lot and had a lot on his plate. While each character faced a difficult situation each one faced it looking for love and sometimes thats all we need. I really liked this book it was a fun read and a clean read and I know the Monroe’s are coming to an end but I am so loving this family and their stories.

When danger shows up looking for Emmy, Dwight risks everything to keep her safe.

“A captivating romance novel with a sexy cowboy making this perfect for anyone who loves a steamy romantic read.” – Fresh Fiction on My Favorite Cowboy

My Review:

So when I first started this book I did not know what to expect since I am not one to read the back/description of a book but judge a book by its cover. I will say I was not disappointed but if you are like me this book is not what it seems. It will have you on the edge of your seat from beginning to the end and have you even holding your breath waiting to see what is going to happen next. I love Vic she has such a huge heart and I am not sure what the authors plans are for her but I hope we get to read her story. Carlos is also a great side character he truly had Dwight’s best interest at heart and when it mattered most. Dwight and Emmy where fun to read about I felt for Emmy but her heart was in the right place and Dwight would stop at nothing to protect what was his. This book does has some adult situations in it so may not be suitable for all readers. Overall this book was a fun read and well worth it.

This charming third installment of the Amish Inn series from bestselling author Beth Wiseman is a picture of loss and healing in which forgiveness will prove to be the greatest act of love.

My Review:

I really enjoyed this book is was so fun to read yet also go to the heart of the matter. I did not read the first two book in the series but you do catch up with some of the other characters from both books in this story. I really enjoyed the sisters Lizzie and Esther you never knew what was going to come out of there mouths or what they were going to do next, between them and Gus I felt like I was always laughing. I really liked Rose she has a heart of goal but trying to find where she fits in life and someone who will love her for who she is. Ben Was also struggling but he seem to just be stubborn and take things in stride. I feel like thought out the book is was a reminder to love ourselves for who God made us and others will come along to love us just the same. Over all this book was a fun read and was well worth it. It was also a clean read so suitable for all. I would totally recommend this book to anyone. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Cowboy for Hire Victoria James

Description:
When a shy woman inherits a ranch, she’ll have to find an inner strength to succeed—and open herself up to love—in this heartwarming novel from New York Times bestselling author Victoria James.

Sarah Turner has led a very sheltered life. So when her parents pass away tragically, suddenly she’s left in charge of the family ranch with little know-how but plenty of will to keep it afloat. Determined not to lose her parents’ legacy or her newfound independence, she needs a hero fast—not to save her, but to show her how to save herself. But she’s unprepared for the ruggedly handsome cowboy who answers her ad.

“Cowboy for Hire,” the ad said, and Cade Walker is quick to respond. Betrayed as ranch manager by his former boss, he’s looking for a new place to put down roots—without the pressure to prove himself again. Except when he meets his new boss, it’s clear he’s not only there to run a ranch but to also teach Miss Independent how to run it. But as they struggle to make the ranch flourish, they’ll both need courage if they hope to find a family…together.

Each book in the Wishing River series is STANDALONE:
* The Trouble with Cowboys
* Cowboy for Hire

My thoughts on the book:

I liked this story it was super cute, emotional and a fun read. I liked Sarah my heart broke for her and everything she faced, but she was a fighter and nothing was going to hold her back from getting what she wants. Oh my goodness Cade I think I have a dislike/love relationship with him in this story. Sometimes I wanted to smack him and then sometimes my heart broke for him, I think in this story you will find two heroes not just one. I also really enjoyed the other characters in the book they are all a fun group of friends and the author made you feel like you were right there hanging out. I can’t wait to see what adventure the author takes Dean and Hope one, or at least that’s what I hope the author is going for next. :-). One Final Breath Lynn H. Blackburn

Description:

When investigator Gabriel Chavez had his cover blown by an aggressive reporter, the silver lining was being able to rejoin the dive team. The downside? Dive team captain Anissa Bell–a woman who both fascinates and frustrates him.

Anissa grew up as a missionary kid on the Micronesian island of Yap and always planned to return after college. But she remained stateside, determined to solve the case that haunts her–the murder of her best friend and the disappearance of a three-year-old child.

When Anissa’s fractured past collides with Gabe’s investigation into the tragic shooting death of a teenage boy in Lake Porter, they’ll have to put their complicated history with each other aside in order to uncover the identity of a killer. What they’ll discover is that revenge has no statute of limitations.

Award-winning author Lynn H. Blackburn closes out her nail-biting Dive Team Investigations series with a story that will have you wondering how long you can hold your breath.

My thoughts on the book:

This is the first book in this series I read, I am sure I missed a ton and after reading this book will definitely be going and reading the other books in this series. This book literally keeps you guessing from the beginning to the end. I really enjoyed this book and could not put it down. The suspense and the story between Anissa and Gabe was so good. I liked how the author didn’t rush the relationship but just let it grow. I loved Liz she and Brooke where a different element for the story but equally amazing. This book was a good clean read and is so worth the read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.
