Home to River’s Edge Nan Reinhardt

Description:

She’s determined to start a new chapter, so why is she still drawn to a man from her past?

When Jasmine Weaver, the chief of staff to a powerful D.C. congresswoman, chose integrity, she didn’t anticipate ringing in the New Year disgraced, unemployed, and sleeping in her childhood bedroom. Now back in River’s Edge, Indiana, identical triplet Jazz has her sisters’ support while she plans her next steps. She agrees to lead the committee for their high school’s fifteenth reunion, never dreaming that her co-chair is the man who broke her teenage heart.

As the new CEO of Walker Construction, Elias Walker has taken the family business to new levels of success. He’s buried himself in work to ease the grief of losing his fiancé several years earlier and wants nothing more than to be a carpenter again. Elias grudgingly agrees to co-chair the high school’s reunion committee, but when Jazz Weaver blows into town, suddenly anything seems possible.

These high school sweethearts have lived half their lives apart. Can they reinvent themselves back in the town where it all began?

My Review:

I liked this book it was pretty good. I liked that the author took a subject I am sick of reading about (politics) and threw a twist to it. I liked Eli while he was still in his grief, you saw him work on himself and through some of the grief and really grow. I first was not a fan of Jazz I found her whiney, but she did some growing up and just let herself shine in everything she did. She was goal driven, super independent she was not going to let anything stand in her way from achieving her dreams. This book does have adult content in it so it may not be suitable for all readers. Overall this book was a fun read and I really enjoyed this group of friends and family.

Blind Trust Natalie Walters

Description:

Lyla Fox knows she has a reputation at the SNAP Agency for impulsivity, but when she receives a threatening letter from a man she helped put in prison, she can’t stop herself from going all in to find out why he’s coming after her. Unfortunately, she’s going to need the help of the one person who questions her reckless choices more than anyone else.

Explosives and weapons specialist Nicolás Garcia agrees to help Lyla in order to keep her safe, but her recklessness continues to be a major concern, especially when her investigation into a conspiracy puts a target on her back. Dealing with bombs is dangerous. Working with Lyla is proving to be just as treacherous–to both the mission and his heart.

Natalie Walters closes out her SNAP Agency series with a bang with this nail-biting story of a deadly government conspiracy, an unlikely couple, and an ending that will leave you breathless.

My Review:

This book was really good, I had a hard time putting down. I found the relationship with Lyla and Kekoa was so fun it had me laughing so hard in points where it should have been serious. The author throw some twist in there I was not expecting, it will defiantly keep you guessing from the beginning to the end. I really like how the relationship between this group of friends felt more like a close nit family. I really enjoyed the relationship with Lyla and family while Layla was a risk taker and super independent she had the support of all her family. The author kept this book clean and it will have you on the edge of your seat. So worth the read.

My Review:

I liked this story it was super cute. The author has away of making you feel like you are right there in Ireland and enjoying the journey right along with Rachel and Conall. I felt like Conall was cautiously optimistic when it came to his relationship with Rachel. He cared for her but also from past experiences he was careful. I wish there was more from him and his side I liked how he was a big family guy and truly cared and would do anything for everyone close to him. I liked Rachel I felt like she was careful to put her heart on the line because of the loss of her dad. However she strived to be the best she could for all in her life. I liked Flynn and Fiona I want to hear each one of there stories now. Overall this book was a fun read and a quick read.

Escaping Valentine’s Day Christi Barth

Description:

An Italian romance is on the menu, but is she ready to order?

Content creator Rory Hibbert knows Valentine’s Day is only fun for couples and chocolatiers. For singles like her, it’s a day of disappointment. And that’s why her new marketing agency client has arranged a tour of Italy crammed full of activities to distract from the holiday. This trip is a test for Rory—if it goes well, it will jump-start her new social media career.

There’s just one snag: the ex she never got over is also on staff.

Huck Cranshaw walked away from the love of his life for a huge opportunity on a cooking competition show. At least, that’s the excuse he gave Rory at the time—and he’s regretted it for five years. Cooking for tourists was supposed to be a stopgap between restaurant positions. Now it could be much, much more: a chance to fix the past.

But when an Italian prince catches sight of Rory, Huck’s not the only one vying for her heart this time. Can Cupid still steal Rory’s heart when the truth finally comes out?

Each book in the Holiday Hearts series is standalone:

*The Magic of Christmas

*The Christmas Project

*Escaping Valentine’s Day

My Review:

So I did not read any of there other books in the series, but I will say this that if they are just as good as this one, I can’t wait to read those. I loved Rowan she was the best kind of friend any one could ask for, she was so supportive and just all around wanted what was best for Rory. I really liked the widows so fun and so much wisdom from them. I liked Huck and Roy even though sometimes their actions came over immature, they truly seemed they wanted what was best for the other. Huck also had some really amazing friends they felt more like his siblings the way they bantered back and forth. Overall this book was a fun read and worth it. The author kept the book clean which makes it readable for most/all readers.

Something Old, Something New Amy Clipston

Description:

Sometimes treasure can be found where you least expect it.

In the decade since high school graduation, Christine Sawyer has realized her dream of opening Treasure Hunting Antique Mall, the place where shoppers find gems that are new to them. Between her store, her house, and her role as a doting aunt, she’s happy with her life—if a bit lonely. But she’s used to being less lucky in love than her fraternal twin sister. Britney was always the popular one, the head cheerleader who dated the homecoming king and quarterback, while Christine stayed in the shadows.

Brent Nicholson is still trying to come to grips with the shambles his life has become. After leading his football team to a state championship, he suffered a career-ending injury. Now he’s lost his construction business thanks to his so-called best friend. So when his great-aunt Midge asks for his help readying her home to put it on the market, the opportunity to spend time with his biggest fan is a balm to his bruised soul.

But the antiques Brent finds in his aunt’s house lead him to an unexpected partnership with Christine. After being blind to her for so many years, is it too late for the former high school jock to win the heart of the self-proclaimed “nerdy twin”?

As they shift through items of the past, Christine and Brent learn to let go of the pieces they don’t want to bring into the future—and realize the value of what’s in front of them today.

“Hometown charm and swoon-worthy second chances make this a must read.” —Kristen Mckanagh, author of Snowball’s Christmas

My Review:

This is a small town romance and was a fun read for me! The one question that kept coming to mind when reading this book was, Why are we so obsessed with what other think about how we live our lives. I found that both Brent and Christine struggled with self worth and yet that did not stop them from living the best life they could and being there for those who they cared about. I was not a fan of Britney, she was not nice at all and I feel like Pam summed her up perfectly in the book. I loved Pam and Steve they were the greatest of friends and the biggest of cheerleaders for Brent and Chris. I also really love aunt Midge she was so feisty and when she spoke everyone listened, we all need a Midge in our lives. Overall the author kept this a clean read and so its suitable for all and I loved the simplicity of it.

Scrooge You Nikki Lynn Barrett

Description:

Scrooge You! was originally written and released in December 2015. It has since been expanded and rewritten to fit into the Cinnamon Bay World.

Sasha’s tired of being judged by the crimes her father has committed in the past. So why is it so hard for her not to judge the once popular guy in high school who’s now a rising star?

As an adolescent, Kevin Wright felt invisible. Now as a rising star, Kevin’s no longer invisible, thanks to the claims of him being a Scrooge by his ex-girlfriend. His reputation is on the line, just in time for him to return home to Cinnamom Bay for his little sister’s Christmastime wedding.

Sahsa Moretti is one bad day away from losing it all. She’s trying to survive while taking care of her ailing ex-con father. She’s never been able to fit in, and while she has big dreams, until she can figure out how to get her father into the right place, there’s not much she can do. She’s stuck in a rut, and a chance encounter just might change things.

Kevin can’t figure out why Sasha’s so cold toward him. Sasha can’t figure out why Kevin keeps hanging around. When she gets an offer she can’t easily refuse, how will the future play out with her inevitable growing feelings Kevin?

My Review:

I liked Cinnamon Bay so I was excited to read this book. I liked Sasha she was strong willed and really would stop at nothing to help her dad she has a protective wall up around her because of things that were beyond her control and while she was slow to let people in once you were in her inner circle she would do anything for you, she cared and loved deeply. I was not a huge fan of Kevin I found him for the most part of the book a bit to pushy and I was just over it, he did have a big heart and cared for those close to him. I really like Arlene she I want to know her story she was so good to Sasha and she was one of the kindest people in the book. I did like this group of friends they were a fun group to read about. Overall  this book was a fun read! There is adult content in this book so it may not be suitable for all readers.

Each book in the Wishing River series is STANDALONE:
* The Trouble with Cowboys
* Cowboy for Hire
* Wishing For A Cowboy
* Mail Order Cowboy

My Review:

I really liked this book, the author does a good job and making you feel like you are right there in the middle of the town watching everything play out almost as you are part of the friend group. I love books like this and also don’t like them because in the end I want more and it’s over. She takes two very broken character for very different reasons and sets them on a path to finding healing and forgiveness, which just like in real like is never all that easy. I really like Hope she was a fighter and I loved her daughter Sadie, Sadie has this big heart for such a small kid and she seems so wise beyond her years she really taught these two adults a lot without even knowing or trying. I like Dean even though there were a few time I wanted to slap him up side his head and tell him to get it together. I loved the friend group, I feel like we all need friends in out lives like this group they call each other out and they hold nothing back. Over all this book was a really good read and I would say worth it. I will say this book does contain talk about emotional and verbal abuse so it may be hard for some to read but don’t let that stop you its very much worth it.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Each book in the Blossom Glen series is STANDALONE:
* The Sweetheart Deal
* The Sweetheart Fix

My Review:

I liked this story it was such a good story. This author defiantly took the bull by the horns and ran with it and she took on a subject that most authors don’t seem to touch, mental health. I really like Juliet she may have struggled and living in a small town she where she was under the microscope but she was a fighter and always willing to continue to grow and learn and help those she comes across wanting what’s best for everyone. Jack was a bit much some times, it’s like he truly did not want to open up about anything,. I loved his grandma she was so sweet and full of so much wisdom. I really liked this group of friends and family, it goes along with blood doesn’t make you family but we choose family. I can’t wait to see where the author takes this group next. The author did keep this book fairly clean, so may be suitable for all readers. This book was a fun read and well worth the read.

But working together could heal past hurts and give their five-year-old son his Christmas wish!USA TODAY Bestselling Author

My Review:

I have really enjoyed reading about the Blackwell family and am sad to see it end, they truly feel like friends you are just catching up with. I felt this book was pretty emotional with it being the ending and with some of the things that were discussed. I like Helen and she was a fighter and faced with a lot. She always seem to be fighting for everyone but herself and her friend Gwen was her biggest cheerleader, we all need a Gwen in our lives. Nash was ok I like him when he stepped up but I also felt like he was all over the place and really struggled with his demons. Luke was a pistol and him and Grand Denny seem to have the biggest hearts and wanted what was best for everyone in the family and the town of Eagle Springs. The author kept this book a clean read so it would be suitable for all. Overall this was good read and was the perfect way to end this series.

Each book in the Smart Cupid series is STANDALONE:
* Breaking the Bachelor
* Unexpectedly His
* One Little Kiss
* No Rescue Required

My Review:

This is a new to me author, so I have not read anything else in the series. That being said though I don’t feel like I need to, to read this book. It does bring up the other characters from the other books. Now on to this story, it was super cute story, it gave off Hallmark vibes for sure. I loved Sabrina she was so sweet and had the biggest heart but she wanted to guard her self from the pain of love. Ryan was the jock who didn’t make it and felt like he lost a part of who he was and kept trying to find who he was. He was kind but also came off like a bit conceded and better then. The story was overall fun read, very predictable, but if you love a good Hallmark movie then this is for you. This book does contain sex so may not be suitable for readers.
