Cowboy Rebel Carolyn Brown

Description:

A wild Texas cowboy is about to meet his match in an ER nurse in this heartwarming romance from a USA Today bestseller, which includes a bonus novella from Annie Rains.
Ever since losing his best friend in a motorcycle accident, Taggart Baker wants to make every moment count. No dare is too dangerous, no adventure too crazy for this cowboy. But after one bad brush with the law, he realizes it’s time to ditch his hooligan friends and grow up. Now he’s running his own ranch next to the Longhorn Canyon spread in Texas. Still, no one would ever call him tame.

Nikki Grady has worked too hard for her RN license just to throw it away for some reckless cowboy who shows up in her emergency room after a barroom brawl. But she can’t help being drawn to Tag’s sense of humor and those crystal blue eyes. The more time they spend together, the more she sees his good heart. But just as Tag seems ready to settle down for good, his troubled past comes calling-and this time he won’t be able to walk away so easily.

Includes the bonus novella A Wedding on Lavender Hill by Annie Rains: When an event planner is asked to create the perfect wedding in just three days, she must turn to the last person she wants to ask for help — the infuriating owner of the house on the hilltop.

My thoughts on the book:

I really liked this book it was a fun read for sure. My heart broke for Nikki I felt so bad for her because of all the things she faced with her mom and how she seemed to crave this “mother/daughter” relationship that just didn’t seem to work because of who her mom is. I really enjoyed how the relationship with Tag and Nikki was a gradual thing and not all about how strong the chemistry was an how to make it work after, it just felt natural. Tag was this bad boy in training but looking for a reason to see more in life and the struggle was so evident with him. I really enjoyed the relationship that Tag has with his siblings and how important they are to him and he is to them even though he choose to “live like he is dying.” Oh my goodness and how can you not love the fab 5 and the fun they add they were such a hoot. I loved how the author used a ton of country song reference in the book which was fun. This book has some a adult language and situations. This book was fun read and I can’t wait to read more from these fun characters I really can’t wait to see what happens with Hud and the Irish Brothers soon. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Smitten by the Brit Melonie Johnson

Description:
DEFINITELY, MAYBE…OR LOVE, ACTUALLY?

English professor Bonnie Blythe expects her life to play out like her favorite novels, especially now that her long-term boyfriend has finally proposed. So when a shocking discovery leads Bonnie to end her engagement, she decides to close the book on love. But the plot thickens when a brand-new character enters the scene—and quickens Bonnie’s heart.

With his brilliant blue eyes, sexy accent, and irresistible charm, Theo Wharton is like a romantic hero straight out of a Jane Austen novel. When fate places Bonnie in England for a summer—conveniently close to Theo—she realizes a hot friends-with-benefits fling is exactly what she needs to start a fresh chapter. Just as Bonnie begins to believe she’s falling in love, an eye-opening revelation into Theo’s life makes Bonnie feel like she’s wandered into one of her favorite books. Will Bonnie have the courage to risk her heart and turn the page with the dashing Brit to find her true happy ending after all?

My thoughts on the book:
I will admit I was leery of this book as I was not a fan of the first book in this series, but this book seems very different. The relationship between Bonnie and Theo just seems so natural. The chemistry is exploding off the pages. They seem to work and fit with each other without much effort given on either of there parts. Yet they seem to both be faced with a choice that takes a lot of time and effort to make them work. There were some times I really wanted to reach and choke Theo, but he was one of the characters you have a really hard time disliking. I loved Theo’s sister Tabby oh my gosh she was so fun and I so want to read her story and what’s she’s up to. I can only imagine the guy who gets who what fun that will be. I also really liked how Bonnie handled the situations with her ex she just seem to handle it with grace, This book does have strong language and sex in it so it may not be suitable for all. Over all I really did enjoy this book and glad I gave it a chance it was well worth the read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

The Summer House Jenny Hale

Description:

Some summers will stay with you forever…

Callie Weaver and best friend Olivia Dixon have finally done it: put their life savings into the beach house they admired through childhood summers, on the dazzling white sand of North Carolina’s Outer Banks. They’re going to buff the salt from its windows, paint its sun-bleached sidings, and open it as a bed and breakfast.

Callie’s too busy to think about her love life, but when she catches the attention of local heartthrob Luke Sullivan, his blue eyes and easy smile make it hard to say no. He’s heir to his father’s property empire, and the papers say he’s just another playboy, but as they laugh in the ocean waves, Callie realizes there’s more to this man than money and good looks.

Just when true happiness seems within reach, Callie and Olivia find a diary full of secrets… secrets that stretch across the island, and have the power to turn lives upside down. As Callie reads, she unravels a mystery that makes her heart drop through the floor.

Will Callie and Luke be pulled apart by the storm it unleashes, or can true love save them?

My thoughts on the book:

This is my first book by Ms. Hale and I will say I was not disappointed. What a fun read. I loved the friendship between Callie and Olivia, they had this unbreakable bond that no matter what one faced they were there for each other. I hope to read Olivia’s story some time soon. My heart broke a little for Callie she had faced so much and was afraid to love again, but she had this independent ready to kick butt if necessary. I really liked how this has a twist in the book that I didn’t see coming and that this book was a good clean read. I think the only thing I missed was I wished that both Luke and Callie had parts in the book I would have loved to read more about Luke and his thoughts as the story was going on since he was such a big part of the book. Overall I don’t feel like his story wasn’t necessarily told but I wish there was more from him if that makes sense. Over all I found it hard to put this book down it was very heartwarming and captivating. You really can’t go wrong with this fun love story. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Montana Redemption Amanda Renee

Description:

A secret worth protecting

Chelsea Logan has always had a weakness for bad boys, and Ryder Slade is no exception. She’s swept off her feet by the rugged cowboy. But that changes when Chelsea discovers that Ryder is out on parole after being convicted of killing his father. She can’t let an ex-con near her daughter or her reputation.

Yet something doesn’t add up. The Ryder she knows is thoughtful, caring and wonderful with her daughter, who is deaf. The lawyer in Chelsea won’t stop digging until she figures out what really happened. But can she ever trust a man who won’t tell her the truth, even if it is to protect someone he loves?

My thoughts on the book:
What I liked about this book is that the author kept it real, there was no perfect character in this book they are all just broken people living their lives and facing every day challenges. The characters seemed like every day people instead of just characters in a fictional story. The story just flowed and had a way of drawing you in and wanting to keep reading just to see what was going to happen next. There is some predictability to the story but unless you keep reading there’s no way to know what truly happened and how things will play out. This book has a few (I think I counted 2) curse words in the whole book. I found this book completely enjoyable, and I can’t wait to see more what will happen in Saddle Ridge Montana.

Driftwood Bay Irene Hannon

Description:

After tragedy upends her world, Jeannette Mason retreats to the tiny Oregon seaside town of Hope Harbor to create a new life. Vowing to avoid emotional attachments, she focuses on running her lavender farm and tea-room–until a new neighbor with a destructive dog and a forlorn little girl invades her turf. But she needn’t worry. Dr. Logan West is too busy coping with an unexpected family, a radical lifestyle change, and an unruly pup to have any interest in his aloof and disagreeable neighbor.

Yet when both Jeanette and Logan find themselves pulled into the life of a tattered Christian family fleeing persecution in war-torn Syria, might they discover that love sometimes comes calling when it’s least expected?

Bestselling and award-winning author Irene Hannon invites readers back to the charming seaside town of Hope Harbor, where they are sure to find peace, healing, and a second chance at happiness.

My thoughts on the book:

When broken people need hope after loss or just finding a place to start over what better place then a town named Hope Harbor. I love the fun characters in this small town of Hope Harbor, no matter what or who needs something it seems like they are always willing to come together and help each other out. I love how the Priest and the pastor are always joking around yet always helping those in town no matter who it is. I think in all the books I have read in the Hope Harbor Series Charley is my favorite character he reminds me of the Bible verse that talks about Entertaining angels unaware. The story in this book just broke my heart about how the little girls lost so much. I had a hard time putting this book down while it dealt with a lot of loss it also had points of laughter and fun. I loved that this book was a good clean read and was so powerful. If you are looking for a really good book you can’t go wrong with this series. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Liv and Breathe Misty Simon

Description:

Olivia Jameson runs a summer camp called Breathe, giving inner-city kids a chance to see a different life. When the man who owned the camp died, leaving his dream to his son, Liv took charge, and the work means the world to her.

As far as Alex Campbell is concerned, the camp is a hands-off tax write-off. But when Liv calls because her boys are accused of property damage, Alex returns to the place he hasn’t called home since age twelve…and to a girl he barely remembers, now a woman who stirs him like no city sophisticates ever have.

This is Liv’s livelihood, her mission, her dream. Sharing it with a man who doesn’t understand the impact is frustrating. But as he begins learning truths that were hidden from him, both Liv and Alex may have a change of heart. Can Liv open up her life one more time to love?

My thoughts on the book:

I have never read anything from this author so I didn’t know what to expect. This subject matter was not something I have read about before or that I can remember. The author gave the book a down home feel to it. The town comes together to help kids who are less fortunate, but it seemed more like they were helping Olivia and her son because they believed in her and what she was trying to do. Olivia had this passion for what she was doing and she was super stubborn and would let nothing stop her. Alex has this feel about it at first that made you wonder will I end up liking this guy in the end or not. He had this soft side to him but he also kept his guard up a lot of the book. Over all this book is a decent read. There are adult situations described but not graphic. I would say if you are looking for a fun read with a lot of sass then defiantly check this read out. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.

Met Her Match Susan Tuttle

Description:

Two old friends. One unexpected reunion.

Parasailing captain Pemberley Truitt has almost grasped a sense of home after two years in the Bahamas. While she misses her family, she’s never felt like she fits in; especially when it comes to TruLove, their family’s matchmaking business. When her brother calls and begs her help with the now struggling company, she’s happy to oblige and obtain the chance to find her place with them. But then she discovers she’ll have to work with Tobias Bradshaw. The last time she saw him, he broke her heart.

Tobias Bradshaw is ready for his love life to be as successful as his winning record in the courtroom. Which is why he agrees to his friend’s two-fold plea: professionally research Joy Island’s matchmaking service and personally be matched himself. No objections there. Until Pemberley Truitt crosses his path again, and she looks about as happy to see him as someone chosen for jury duty. It’s fine. He’s faced hostile witnesses before. Except he soon realizes he wants more than a temporary working relationship. He’s taken on difficult opposition in court before, but this time he’ll need more than a persuasive argument if he hopes to win Pem’s heart.

My thoughts on the book:

Tobias, has trust issues and Pem, feels like she doesn’t belong when her brother asks for help she is faced with her past and has a ton of underlying issues she needs to deal with. What a fun laid back read. This book was a super fun book to read and it was also a quick read.  I also loved how this book was a good clean read and suitable for all ages. If you are looking for a fun quick read you can’t go wrong with.

Luckily, her new physical therapist is easy going and easy on the eyes. When their sessions start to heat up, in more ways than one, Josie is intrigued. But she has a city and career she loves waiting for her. So why does the thought of leaving him suddenly feel a lot like leaving home?

The sooner he gets Josie back on her feet and back to her real life, the safer he’ll be. But in Sweetwater Springs, love has a way of mending even the most damaged heart.

My thoughts on the book:

When Josie gets “stuck” in Sweetwater Springs she starts to rethink her life and wonder what could be next in her life. I really enjoyed this book was super fun read. Some parts of the book was a little predictable how ever it did not take away from the story overall. The story has a way of getting to your heart for sure. The author draws you in and has away of wanting you to book your next trip to Sweetwater Springs. I love small town romances and I just love small town books they have away of making you feel like you are catching up with friends and that was very much the case with this book. This book does have adult situations and may no be suitable for all readers. I really can’t see what happens next in Sweetwater Springs and see where the author goes next with this wonder group of characters. If you are looking for quick and fun read grab this book I don’t think you will be disappointed.
