The Bake Shop Amy Clipston

Description:

Return to Lancaster County with the first installment of Amy Clipston’s charming new Amish Marketplace series.

Christiana Kurtz loves to bake, but when her bake stand becomes too busy, her mother encourages her to move her business to the local market. Her new bake shop becomes so inundated with customers that the line blocks the leather and woodcraft shop next door, which is run by Jeffrey Stoltzfus. When Jeffrey complains that her stand is driving away business due to the lines, she complains to him that his personalization machine smells. Though their relationship starts off on bad footing, they eventually forge a friendship.

When Christiana’s father makes a surprise visit to the market, he is upset to find that Jeffrey uses the building’s electricity to personalize his items. He tells Christiana that Jeffrey is too modern for her, and she’s forbidden from dating him. Christiana is crushed, but she knows she must obey her father.

When Jeffrey’s shop catches fire one day, he puts the entire market in jeopardy—including Christiana’s bake shop. Christiana, however, can’t deny how she feels about Jeffrey despite his mistakes. Though the odds are against them, can two young people find a way to rebuild both their businesses and their relationship?

My thoughts on the book:

I have read Amy’s book in the past so I was excited to get a chance to read this one. I liked Christiana and the relationship she had with her sister and her cousins they were fun to read about and the close relationship was more like a bunch of sisters instead of cousins. I also enjoyed the relationship with Jeff and Nick, Nick was that annoying little brother you just have to love no matter what. When the information comes out about Christiana’s dat it broke my heart and made everything makes sense. I did feel like it was pretty predictable but over all a really fun read. This book is suitable for all ages and is a good clean read if you love amish reads or a good love story this book is totally worth the read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Nobody Else But You Claire Marti

Description:

A smoking hot stuntman. A fiery horse breeder. And a 220-acre ranch too small for both of them.

She’s avoided Hollywood for years…

When an arrogant Hollywood stuntman struts into Samantha McNeill’s breeding barn, sparks fly. She doesn’t care how mouthwateringly gorgeous he is, not when he assumes Pacific Vista Ranch’s resident horse breeding manager must be a man. Not to mention his job threatens to pull her family back into the paparazzi filled world they escaped from over a decade ago.

Now it’s at her door––wearing faded jeans and a wicked grin.

Holt Ericsson can tell the beautiful redhead hates him on sight and the feeling is becoming mutual. But he will call in a favor and convince Sam’s legendary director father that Pacific Vista Ranch is the only suitable place left in California to film an epic Western. Holt’s invested all his savings in the movie and his entire career is riding on it. No way will he allow one irritating, sexy woman to stand in his way.

Sam intends to fight him at every turn…if only her heart didn’t race when they’re together. Holt does his best to steer clear of her…except all he wants to do is hold her close. The sizzling attraction between them is either going to burn up the sheets or burn down the ranch…

My thoughts on the book:

This was a fun read for me, growing up in California I can totally picture the horrible Santa Anna winds to a T. My heart broke for this family the emotions and what they faced just jumped off the pages. Sam was so feisty  and she reminded me of one of those sour patch kids sour then sweet you never knew what you were going to get but you know where you stood with her for sure. Holt’s childhood was no cake walk either but neither acted like a victim. Even though the author wrote about some rich people all the characters seemed completely relatable and fun. This book does have some curse words and sex so may not be suitable for all readers. Overall this book was super fun read I had a hard time putting it down and well worth the read.I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. But now he has to convince Kaitlyn he wants to be by her side — and their baby’s — for all the Christmases to come.Includes the bonus novel Christmas on Mistletoe Lane by Annie Rains!

My thoughts on the book:

I really enjoyed this book, this whole series is super fun I am in love with the small town of Angel Falls, they seem like one big family and everyone has your back. I liked how in this book it was about finding a hero but about finding hope in the present. I loved how Kailyn and Rafe were best friends and how through everything they faced they wanted to keep that friendship at the forefront. I had a hard time putting this book down it just draws you in and so fun to read it really makes you feel like you are reading about friends not about fictional characters. There is sex in this book so it may not be suitable for all readers. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Christmas on Mistletoe Lane- Annie Rains

When I saw this book all over social media I knew I wanted to read this book and one thing I wasn’t sure of if it would live up to all the hype. Well I was not disappointed it completely lived up to the hype I fell in love with this book. I have never read anything by this author and to be honest I can’t wait to read more. I loved the small town of Sweetwater Springs and it seemed like one of those towns you just want to go visit, total small town America for sure. I loved the heart of the story and I loved how in the end you want to follow up with some many more characters wondering whats happening in there lives as well. I felt this book was a quick read even though its a larger book. I will also say that in this book it does imply adult situations but over all this is a good clean read which was completely refreshing. If you have never read or even if you have by Annie Rains grab this book you will not be disappoint at all totally worth the read and it will totally put you into the Christmas spirit.

Christmas Haven Cindy Woodsmall

Description:

For fans of holiday romances and Amish life comes a new Christmas tale of surprising expectations and discovering miracles.

Old Order Amish Ivy Zook is wrestling with her need to shed her community’s ways so she can grow the business of her dreams: planning parties. As long as she’s stuck living without modernization, she can barely get her business on its feet. But if she leaves too soon, she’d cause trouble for her sister, Holly, who is planning her wedding to Joshua Smucker. All of their plans become twice as complicated when an old car crashes into the storefront of Greene’s Pharmacy, carrying a Swartzentruber (ultra-conservative sect) Amish man, Arlan, and his very ill sister.

The Zooks take in Arlan and Madga, tending to the woman’s illness and Arlan begins helping around the family farm. Ivy and Arlan are on different tracks, one wanting to leave her community and the other to return to his. But both young people are trying to discover what God has in store for their futures and what miracles might lie around the corner this Christmas season.

My thoughts on the book:

I love a good Christmas book I mean who doesn’t. This book was one of those I could not put the story down I wanted to see what the characters where up to next. I love how the authors didn’t even try and make these characters perfect, they all struggled with decisions that would impact their lives for the rest of their lives and each one struggled. I felt like this is one of this books that you as the read can take a life lesson away from. I will say the author has you laughing and crying. My heart broke for two of the characters in more ways than one. This book seemed to truly just fly by and it was great catching up with some of the characters from The Christmas Remedy. If you are looking for a good clean read this book will be perfect read for you. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

After telling Kayla he’s no longer engaged, he later finds her kitchen in crisis and Kayla desperate for help, but unwilling to ask. Can a cupcake café owner find true love with Mr. Hot Holt Barbecue?

My thoughts on the book:

I found this story so cute. I honestly have no idea how the author wrote this book and not eat while writing, I was reading and getting to hungry. Everything she described in the book it felt like I was either right there or could totally picture it happening, I loved that because it just made you feel like you were right there. I really loved the relationship with Holt and his family and how he wore his heart on his sleeve. I really enjoyed Kayla for the same reason but also because she was vulnerable. I  have not read the first book in the series but I totally want too after reading this one and I can’t wait to see what the three friends are up to in the next book. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

The Rancher’s Proposal Paula Altenburg

Description:

She said she’d never rely on a man again…

Never say never. When meek and mild Posey Davies calls it quits on her toxic marriage, she grabs her two-year-old daughter and runs. Her flight lands her in Grand, Montana, a community happy to take her in and even happier to nose about in her life and her unfortunate past.

The cowboy next door, Zack McGregor, has “good time,” written all over him. He’s only home for a year to help out his older brother, who’s guardian of their sister’s children. Zack is kind, funny and oh-so-easy on the eyes. He’d be perfect, but the practical Posey predicts Zac will disappear as soon as winter sets in.

Zack’s not as laid back and fun loving as he seems. He’s all about family and doing what’s right. When Posey’s deadbeat ex-husband begins making demands, Zack insists on playing protector.

Posey’s never had anyone stand up for her before and soon realizes that perhaps relying on this man and trusting in love is well worth the risk.

My thoughts on the book:

This is the first book by this author that I have read and I really enjoyed it. The author draws you in and keeps your attention throughout the book. I really enjoyed Posey and how she was a strong women but also how she had a very vulnerable side to her as well. I loved Eleanor she hands down was one of my favorite characters. I also liked Zack he totally wore his heart on his sleeves and you never had to wonder what he was thinking or his intentions. There is a few curses words and does have some sex scenes so this may not be suitable for everyone. Overall I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more from these fun characters. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

But when her first patient turns out to be her first-crush-turned-nemesis Colton Walker, Sara starts wondering if home really is where the heart is….

My thoughts on the book:

Story 1:The town comes together to help one person in need every year no matter what the person faces they will help. We need more of this in our world. I loved the community as a whole in this book. Alex was on this journey to solve a cold case so it add a mystery to the story which was fun. However I did find the story quite predictable, I wish there would have been a little more keeps you guessing going on in the story. The story over all was a good clean read and was a quick read for sure. I loved Grandma Baker hands down one of my favorite characters she has a way of speaking her mind in the most loving way and still getting her point access. I would say over all this book was worth the read and puts you in the Christmas spirit.

Story 2:

I loved this book, I loved how nothing was held back. This is such a sweet love story. I can relate to Sara as having a family member who has dementia, that being said even if that’s not the case the characters were so down to earth and I really felt like I could relate with any of them.  I loved how the author had a way of getting to the heart and also had fun moments throughout. I loved Carmen she was just the constant icebreaker throughout and you truly never knew what was coming out of her mouth. This book does have some adult language/scenes but was a super fun read. I truly loved this book and I am not sure if this will become part of a series but if it does I can’t wait for more. You really can’t go wrong with this amazing love story.I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley, I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.

Chasing the Runaway Bride Susan Meier

Description:

When Marine-turned-rancher, Cade Donovan, inherits his grandfather’s grocery store, he has no choice except to return home. A couple problems with that:

1) The small, gossiping town still doesn’t know the real reason Cade left twelve years ago.

2) For some reason, his grandfather added an unexpected detail to the will – Cade has to share ownership with Piper O’Riley.

The O’Rileys and the Donovans have been at each other’s throats ever since Cade’s grandfather won the store in a poker game. And now Cade has to share his inheritance with the enemy? The gorgeous, tempting, all-grown-up enemy…

After ditching two fiancés at the altar, Piper’s earned a reputation as the town’s runaway bride. Ironically, Piper is woefully inexperienced with men. Her attraction to Cade and working side-by-side with him is torture. By day, it’s non-stop-bickering, but at night, she can’t stop imagining all the delicious things Cade could teach her.

With the family grudge and the secret of why Cade really left town between them, there’s no way they could ever be together. Right?

The Donovan Brothers series is best enjoyed in order.
Reading Order:
Book #1 Her Summer with the Marine
Book #2 Chasing the Runaway Bride
Book #3 Head Over Heels for the Boss

My thoughts on the book:

This book was a fun read kind of original in a round about way. The storyline is really good keeps your attention and draws you in. Piper at first seems to be this wallflower who is trying to stay behind the scenes because she has had enough gossip about her. However you almost see her grow with in the pages which was refreshing in away, she lets her stubborn side show in the beginning and that is something that’s through out. Cade, he is just plain cocky I wasn’t sure about him at first but he really does grow on you as you read the story. I loved the small town, the crazy characters and the gossip just sums up about every small town there ever is. I loved how close the brothers are an how they will not stop at anything to protect those they love. This book has sex scenes in it so it may not be suitable for all. Overall I felt this was a fun quick read and well worth it. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Off the Market Audrey Wick (Texas BBQ Brothers, #2)

Description:

Can the man who saved the day win her heart?

Quinn LaFayette is in her inaugural year as library special programs director of Last Stand, but when the kickoff performance for the children’s summer program goes terribly wrong, she has to save face as well as her job. She has a surprise advocate in Cole, whom she did her best to ignore in school. Seven years has only made Cole more appealing, but Quinn is determined to resist the sparks that fly between them because they are too different.

Restaurant owner Cole Hutchinson is no bookworm, but thanks to his fast-thinking antics, he ends up saving the day at the library and earning Quinn’s praise in the process. He’s tempted to seek more, but he’s juggling plenty of female attention from gracing the June edition of Modern Texas magazine featuring barbeque. Cole’s not interested in revisiting a woman from his past, but there’s something about Quinn that he can’t quite ignore.

Can Cole prove that opposites really do attract?

My thoughts on the book:

I was so happy to get my hand on this book after reading the first book in the series. The brothers are back and they are still “fighting” on who’s right in the battle of business, they have that love, hate relationship most siblings have…. I really was glad to get to read Cole’s story and what a big heart he had. I loved Quinn and her feistiness yet her heart of gold for all things books and kids. The author leaves you hungry for both food and for more in the end that’s for sure. I liked how in both books in the series the author added her perusal touch of recipes you read about in the book. I loved that this story was a clean read and suitable for all. This book was truly one you feel like you are catching up with friends and you can’t wait to see what’s happening next. Grab this quick read you won’t regret it. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

But his attempt to have it all backfires into a betrayal that forces Becky into a heart-wrenching choice no woman should ever have to make. Each book in the Once a Marine series is STANDALONE:*The Baby Bargain*Her Temporary Hero*Exposing the Heiress

My thoughts on the book:

So whenever I get a chance to read a new author, I am never sure what I am going to get. This author is new to me and I can say I was not disappointed. She has away of grabbing your attention in the beginning and keeping you drawn into the book till the end. The emotions were just jumping off the pages and the author had a way of making the reading really feeling the emotions. I felt I was reading a letter from a really good friend not a story of fiction. I really like what a fighter Becky was she will fight till the end and take no prisoners. I really liked the relationship with Logan and his sister Pam and how she looked up to him and he was willing to fight for those he loved as well. This book flew by, this book does have some strong language and sex in it so it may not be for all readers. But if you are looking for a fun read that just seems to fly this book is well worth the read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
