Hometown Honey Jessica R Patch

Description:

Welcome back to Honeyhaven!

The town is gearing up for the bicentennial and all the festivities including the annual Hometown Honey Pageant. Single mom, Zayda Miller has never been a fan of pageants, particularly this one, but she needs cash and if she could pull it off and win, she could use the sweet prize money to help her achieve her dream. With zero talent or skill in the kitchen—why baking pies is part of the pageant is beyond her—she’s off to a pathetic start. When her high school sweetheart, up and coming chef, Stratton Shay returns to town for the grand event, she reluctantly allows him to help her in the kitchen, but they might be cooking up more than pies for the competition. Until they discover they both want the same thing. And for one of them to win, the other will have to lose.

My thoughts on the book:

What a cute story! I love the characters they are fun and the author has a way as you read about them making you feel like they are your friends and you are just catching up. I loved Zayda’s fighting spirit nothing was going to stop her from her dream of making a better life for her little family. I loved how she kept her head high even with some poor choices she made. I like Stratton even though sometimes I want to punch him and tell him to spit it out. Oh my Crockett he and Scout I know he did her wrong but I hope they work things out they just seem like they belong together. This book is a good clean read and suitable for all. Super quick read and it was well worth it.

How Sweet It Is Robin Lee Hatcher

Description:

He lost his brother. She lost her dream. Together, they might find what they’re really looking for.

Holly Stanford is doing the best she can with the restaurant she inherited from her late uncle. But after her fiancé abandons her and the business, Holly regrets having given up her dream of becoming a pastry chef. Now a few bad financial decisions might cost her everything, including her hope for the future.

Jed Henning has done well with his new company despite his prodigal brother’s behavior. When Jed‘s father, the controlling member of the board of directors, temporarily suspends operations until his sons work out their differences, Jed resentfully chases his brother, Chris, to Boise. There Jed rents a basement apartment from Holly and hopes to convince Chris to get his act together before their company collapses.

Unaware that Holly is the one person who can help him get through to Chris, Jed starts the tough work of reconciliation armed with little more than a few family photographs, a stack of old letters, and a Bible that belonged to his great-grandfather, Andrew Henning. And as romance blossoms between Holly and Jed, the story of Jed’s great-grandfather highlights the power of God across the generations and the legacy of a family’s courageous faith.

My thoughts on the book:

I have always really enjoyed reading this authors book, however I have not read anything in this series and when I started the book it wasn’t what I expected at first. It got good thou really good right away. I really thought oh great a story about a rich kid but that was so far from that. This story is about family, faith, forgiveness and finding yourself. I loved Holly, and Willow they have this strong independent to them and they fight for themselves and those they love. I really like Jed and how his journey to make things right with his brother also was a whole different journey all on its own. I loved the story of Andrew and Helen. This book will make you laugh and cry, I liked that this was a good clean read and I like that the how the story draws you in and keeps you going till the end not wanting to put it down. I would totally recommend this book. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

Neither planned on a commitment in their future, so they should have no problem making it through the year without getting emotionally involved, right?

Except Becky’s holding on to a secret from her past—one that would change everything.

My thoughts on the book:
I never know what I’m going to get with a book when the storyline is marriage of convince. This book however was super adorable I loved Bryon his personality really shined through. I had a love/dislike with Steve at first he comes off as everyone should just love me no matter what, but he grew on me really quick and the author did a good job and showing his heart but still making him a fighter. Oh my Becky is a fighter and my heart truly just broke for her sometimes in the book, she knows what she wants and will stop at nothing to get it when it comes to Bryon. This is a first book for me by this author and I want to much more. Such a good read and I like that the author kept it a clean read.

I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.

A traditional, clean romance with no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

My thoughts on the book:
I really love this series and I only want more. I want to know what happens so Queen, I want to read Chainsaws story because I really like him and throughout all these books he has become my favorite. This book like the others just shows blood doesn’t make you family it’s who your choose. I loved Becca she was a fighter and nothing was going to stand in her way of doing her job and doing it good. I would have liked to hit Spider up the side of the head of few times personally but he has a good heart even though his life has not been all that great. I don’t even know where to begin with Roadhouse so I will say read the book and you will know what I mean. I loved being able to catch up with the others from the first few books. I also liked how the author keeps it a clean read while dealing with some not so easy things. Seriously grab this book and the others in this series you really won’t be disappointed

My Kind of Cowboy R. C. Ryan

Description:

his New York Times bestselling author delivers a “page-turning romance” (Nora Roberts) about a city girl on the run and the strong, protective cowboy who keeps her safe.

Brand Merrick is a take-charge cowboy who considers relax a four-letter word. So when an injury lands him six weeks of physical therapy, he intends to keep right on working-until his grandmother hires a therapist to stay at their family ranch. He’s not used to following orders, or slowing down, but Avery Grant has a way of getting him to do things he’d never thought he’d do . . .

Avery hates to admit it, but this super sexy rancher is testing her patience…and her professionalism. She’s a born-and-bred city girl, yet she finds herself drawn to the rugged wilderness and the equally rugged cowboy she’s here to help. But when a threat from her past follows Avery to Montana, it’s Brand who rides to the rescue-if only she’ll put her trust in him, and the growing feelings in her heart.

My thoughts on the book:

I feel like lately every time I get my hands on a book by this author it feels like coming home. She has a way of making you either feel like you are right there or that you are catching up with friends and it was very much that case in this book. I also had a hard time putting this book down. I wanted more so much more. I loved Liz and the brothers and hope their stories are coming soon. I also like how this author tries and keeps the books as close to a clean read. I really liked Avery to me she came off as this person while she faced a lot it didn’t break who she was and she still continued on with life and what it handed her. Brand was a hard nut to crack, but he was still very likable and very much a trustworthy older son who just needed a little push. I seriously can’t wait for more from these fun character and to see what will happen next. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Being Known Robin Jones Gunn

Description:

From the bestselling author of Becoming Us comes a novel that asks: What does it mean to be truly known? In a marriage, in a friendship, or by a loving God?

After her mom passed away, Jennalyn was in the midst of moving, adjusting to life with a new baby, and helping her husband, Joel, work toward his dream job. At the time, she thought she’d processed her mother’s death, but only now that Jennalyn has two small children, a lovely new home, and a husband who is always working does she feel the full impact of what she has lost.

Even among her sweet circle of friends, the Haven Makers, grief silently overwhelms Jennalyn, until an unexpected encounter allows her to express herself in ways she hasn’t fully been able to with her husband. Even though Christy, Sierra, Emily, and Tess provide a soft place to land in times of tension, Jennalyn remains guarded, especially when Tess reveals she is tangled emotionally in a relationship that was thorny from the start.

Will the two women open up and remain honest with the others in their Haven Makers group? Or will their hesitation to truly be known, faults and all, keep them from holding on to the friendships that have been the sweetest gift during this season of life?

My thoughts on the book:

Just like Becoming Us this book is about friendship and finding hope in the Lord and those friendships. I felt like this book got really to the heart of the matter with Jennalyn, with her missing her mom and the struggles she faces. This book was told in a first person point of view and I was not a fan of that. The author keeps this book clean so that is so nice allowing suitable for age appropriate readers. I think it goes back to this author has written about Christy for years and this series seems to be the adult version and the friendships she is forming along the way. I love these group of women and their friendships. Life is not perfect and life always hands you trials and the author doesn’t try and make anything perfect or sugar coat anything. If you are looking for a fun read that’s a breathe of fresh air and a little different then other books out there,  this is worth the read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Winning Back Her Heart Allie Pleiter

Description:

Pretending to be in love…or building a new future?

Nothing wrong with helping out an old friend…

But she’s so much more to him.

When his ex-girlfriend returns home and hires him to overhaul her family’s general store, contractor Bo Carter’s determined to keep an emotional distance. But to convince her old boss she’s home for good, Toni Redding needs another favor—a pretend romance. As Bo starts to fall for her all over again, might their fake love lead to a real second chance?

My thoughts on the book:

There was this push and pull through the whole book between the two main characters. I felt sometimes that Toni was taking advantage of Bo and then other times I felt like she just wasn’t ready to admit her feelings. The close relationship that Toni has with her dad is so sweet. I like Jake and how Him and Bo seemed more like brothers and less like friends and business partners. I think the one person even in the end I was not a fan of was Peggy, she just came off very selfish and whatever worked best for her was what needed to be done. Over all this story was a cute fun read. The author kept the story clean so I would say it’s suitable for all.

Betting on Love Jennifer Hoopes

Description:

Whitney Carroll is back home in Gatlinburg, Tennessee after divorcing her low-down, cheating husband. First thing on the to-do list: Get a job. Second thing: Just say no to men. Third thing: Don’t fall for the boss. One out of three’s not too bad, right?

For Sam Ellis, his to-do list is always work, work, work, trying to keep his family’s legacy alive. Now, out of concern, his siblings bet he can’t keep a girl happy for thirty days, and if he loses he’s out as CEO. No problem, he can fake a relationship. And he knows just who to ask…his new man-vegan assistant.

Yet Whitney’s sexy boss—secret singer and Skee-Ball champion—is definitely NOT boring, and their connection is undeniable. But when a disaster strikes at work, Sam will have to decide if he’s willing to trade in his job for his heart.

My thoughts on the book:

I didn’t read the first book in the series and I have never read anything by this author so I wasn’t sure what to expect. When I first started this book it seemed like so many other relationships of convince, however I liked all the characters they were fun and Family was first no matter what they faced. I loved Betsy she is a pistol and oh my I can’t wait to read her story. I loved Whitney why she has a broken spirit from her divorce she was a fighter and willing to take on whatever was thrown at her. This book over all was a fun read it did have sex indicated but not in-depth. I can’t wait to read more from this author and see what these fun characters are up to next. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Cowboy for Hire Victoria James

Description:
When a shy woman inherits a ranch, she’ll have to find an inner strength to succeed—and open herself up to love—in this heartwarming novel from New York Times bestselling author Victoria James.

Sarah Turner has led a very sheltered life. So when her parents pass away tragically, suddenly she’s left in charge of the family ranch with little know-how but plenty of will to keep it afloat. Determined not to lose her parents’ legacy or her newfound independence, she needs a hero fast—not to save her, but to show her how to save herself. But she’s unprepared for the ruggedly handsome cowboy who answers her ad.

“Cowboy for Hire,” the ad said, and Cade Walker is quick to respond. Betrayed as ranch manager by his former boss, he’s looking for a new place to put down roots—without the pressure to prove himself again. Except when he meets his new boss, it’s clear he’s not only there to run a ranch but to also teach Miss Independent how to run it. But as they struggle to make the ranch flourish, they’ll both need courage if they hope to find a family…together.

Each book in the Wishing River series is STANDALONE:
* The Trouble with Cowboys
* Cowboy for Hire

My thoughts on the book:

I liked this story it was super cute, emotional and a fun read. I liked Sarah my heart broke for her and everything she faced, but she was a fighter and nothing was going to hold her back from getting what she wants. Oh my goodness Cade I think I have a dislike/love relationship with him in this story. Sometimes I wanted to smack him and then sometimes my heart broke for him, I think in this story you will find two heroes not just one. I also really enjoyed the other characters in the book they are all a fun group of friends and the author made you feel like you were right there hanging out. I can’t wait to see what adventure the author takes Dean and Hope one, or at least that’s what I hope the author is going for next. :-). Perfect Distraction Allison Ashley

Description:

Lauren Taylor isn’t thinking about love, especially not with the impossibly attractive man she accidentally spilled coffee all over. He’s out of her league and she’s focused on finishing her oncology pharmacy residency. She’s sworn off men who are too handsome for their own good, anyway.

Andrew Bishop can’t stop thinking about the gorgeous redhead who crashed into him and then disappeared, even though he should have way more on his mind – like dealing with his Hodgkin Lymphoma diagnosis and finishing out his last year in law school. When Andrew and Lauren run into each other at the cancer center where she’s working and he’s being treated, they try to keep it professional. They can be friends, and nothing more.

But sometimes life has other plans…

My thoughts on the book:

This book was so good and super cute. It was also hard a little too, the reason I say that is because the main character has cancer and it deals with the journey through that the author held nothing back while telling this story. But one thing was clear through out life is precious and you don’t want to take it for granted. Why this story is fiction it felt like it was very much real. I love Jeni and I hope she gets her own story she was one sister I think we all wish we had. I loved Lauren and her big heart. This book was full of puns so you are guaranteed to laugh regardless. There are a few curse words but overall this is a clean read. So worth the read.
