Cold Case Investigators

Book 1: Cold Case Takedown
Book 2: Cold Case Double Cross
Book 3: Yuletide Cold Case Cover-Up

My Review:

As always this author did not disappoint with this book. This is one of those books where your like ok I will read a few chapters then go to bed and before you know the book has only a few chapters left and you have to be up in a few hours but you are so sucked into the story you need to finish it. Throughout the whole book you think you know who did it and Poppy and Rhett feel they know who did it and then BAM!!! not what you thought. I loved Beth and her sisterDelilah I so want them to have there happily ever after and I am not sure if the author plans something but I am rooting for them. I really over all enjoyed this book put me on the edge of my seat and just enjoyed it so much I really liked the banter from Rhett and Poppy and Poppy and her brother Tack they made a tough situation in the book laughable at time and it just helps break up a little of the suspense. Overall this book is worth the read.

The Wedding Crasher and the Cowboy Robin Bielman

Description:

Maverick is still as awful, infuriating, and just The Worst as ever—even if he looks way too sexy in his cowboy hat. And of course he’s convinced she’s actually at the seaside ranch to ruin the wedding.

Now the only way to get some face time with the groom and save this marriage is to participate in all sorts of pre-wedding events…with Maverick. Stuck on a canoe, making small-talk at cocktail hour, and even a hoedown with her worst enemy? This just might be the longest week of her life…

My Review:

This is a new to me author so of course I wasn’t sure what to expect. I will say the author did not disappoint I kind of feel invested in all these characters lives now. I loved Andrew he was the best friend/brother anyone truly could as for and with such an active role in this book I want him to have HIs happy ever after for sure. I liked Ava and Jenna their personalities seem to shine off the pages. With some of the things that Both Maverick and Kennedy reached faced I found this book more on the  emotional side of a rom-com. I felt like they were both stubborn and pig headed and they would push each others buttons which added to the laughter of it all. There is some adult situations in this book that may not be suitable for all readers. Over all I did enjoy this book it did drag in a few parts but when it was good it was really good and made up for it, such a fun read.  I received a complimentary copy of this book. My Review:

I LOVED this book, it reminded me from the beginning of a hallmark movie. The author has a way of making you feel like you are right there in the middle of it, she draws you in leaves you wanting more. I loved Elle she has a heart for others not because she’s an angel but because she just seems to generally have a good heart. I loved Iris and Molly they where extra bonus to this cute story and just easy to love and follow. Sam is hurt from the loss of his wife but that doesn’t stop him from helping someone out and loving his daughter the best he knows how. Sam’s dad his heart was in the right place but he also was willing to respect his son. Overall this book was well worth the read and puts you in the spirit of Christmas and giving. I truly could not put this book down. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Autumn loves her father and the farm, but she can’t do it all, and her brother has no plans to move back home. And then her brother’s best friend saunters back into her life even more handsome than she remembers and arrogantly full of plans and answers to questions she no longer wants to ask.

After exiting his special forces unit to return home to Last Stand, Sam Russell feels duty bound to help his best friend’s struggling family farm. He’s not expecting such fierce resistance in the form of a still-angry Autumn, who’s become even more beautiful and tempting in his years away.

Autumn doesn’t want his help, but Sam has never given up so easily. And what starts off as just doing his duty quickly becomes something much more personal.

My Review:

Yall I did not read the first 2 books in this series but I can say I want to now. In this book the author has a way of making you feel like you are right there watching the whole thing play out. Defiantly a coming home story and finding yourself. Autumn has a feisty spirit, but an ol’ soul who love, cares and feels deeply. You could feel her emotions through the pages in some parts of the book. Sam was a giver, yet he also felt he “owed” people and no one was exempt from that, he just wanted to make sure he showed the same honor he learned in the military. This book is a clean read and over all I really loved it, this book was a quick read and I think the only thing I left wanting more of is I hope that  Joe gets his story told next. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Matched and Married Kathleen Fuller

Description:

Neither Margaret nor Owen has any interest in getting married. But in the small Amish town of Birch Creek, where marriage is on everyone’s mind, their plans don’t stand a chance.

Margaret Yoder can’t seem to catch a break. Even though she’s dedicated to her Amish faith, her wild rumspringa won’t stay in the past, and her mother keeps pressuring her to get married. To placate her mother and get away from former “friends”, she decides to return to Birch Creek to visit family—and pretend to find a husband.

Like Margaret, Owen Bontrager isn’t looking for a spouse, something that’s hard to avoid in Birch Creek, where an ad for brides in the local paper has brought a swarm of single women to the thriving town. When he meets Margaret in an unexpected way, they discover they have more in common than they ever expected. In some ways, they are a perfect match.

Margaret struggles to keep her goal of avoiding romance in order to focus on being a faithful member of the Amish church, and it doesn’t help that she finds Owen intriguing. Knowing they don’t have a future together; she returns home and gives in to her mother’s insistence that she get married.

Can Margaret betray her feelings for Owen and become a dutiful daughter and wife to the man of her mother’s choosing? Or will Owen find a way to free Margaret of her past by giving her the future they both are surprised to find they desire?

My Review:

At first I had a hard time getting into this book however that didn’t last long. I feel like this books is for  all the ages it teaches some much of what matters in life, forgiveness and finding healing even when Life just doesn’t seem to make a whole lot of sense. I liked Owen while he was a workaholic and is learning to take life at a slower pace he still seems to be wise beyond his years and yet still torn between young adult and being grown up. I feel like Margaret had a lot of growing up to do from beginning to the end of the book but I feel that the way the author told the story and allowed Margaret’s life choices to play just made sense overall. This book is a good clean read and can be enjoyed by all. I am not sure if there is more to come but it would be interesting to see what does happen next based on the end of the book.

The Montana Cowboy’s Heart by Kaylie Newell

Description:

Porter Cole excels at two things—running his Marietta-based dude ranch with his twin brother, Brooks, and charming women. But when the beautiful and stoic Justine Banks arrives at the ranch with a bus full of children for a field trip, everything he thought he knew about himself flies out the window.

Justine has no time for romance, especially not with a sexy cowboy who has the greenest eyes she’s ever seen. But Porter has a way of making her feel alive, especially after taking in her friend’s struggling eleven-year-old grandson. When the boy takes off trying to find his long-lost rodeo cowboy father, Porter offers to help and Justine finds herself confronted with her own childhood pain. Can she trust Porter?

All roads seem to lead back to the ranch. In Porter, Justine and young Tom see a man who holds the key to healing their hearts, and for the first time ever, Porter sees a chance for a family. Will they all be brave enough to forgive their own pasts and imagine a future together?

My Review:

This is one of those books that make you wonder if the author struggled to write this story with out some tears, This story is packed for of emotions thats for sure. This book will get you in the heart and leave you wanting more for sure. I could not put this book down. I really loved Cat he has this old soul that just made him wise beyond his years and he just was just a tender sweet kid and I just could not imagine this story without him. I really liked Justine and Porter, while they both faced similar situations they both had to find a way to deal with it in there own way to find a way to get through life and out on the other side. If you haven’t read any of the other Cole brother series I would say do you won’t want to miss it, and this book will catch you up for sure. Overall I can’t recommend this book enough such a fun read and right to the heart, the author kept it clean so its suitable for all and well worth the read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The Rancher Risks It All Debra Holt

Description:

She’s on the run…

On a storm-ravaged night, Texas rancher Truitt Tremayne is trying to make it home before the road floods. Years ago he lost his parents, fiancée and youngest brother in a flash flood on the same country road, so it seems like déjà vu when he nearly hits a stranded car with a beautiful woman and her sister trapped inside.

Annie Sims and her sister Jessie are running from their past. She’s headed to San Antonio where they can disappear, but bad luck follows them. With her funds depleted and her car useless, Truitt’s offer of a temporary sanctuary with no questions asked seems too good to be true. Soon Annie finds herself falling under the spell of the kind, silent rancher. But can she let her guard down and still keep her sister safe, or is she courting more danger?

Truitt knows Annie has a secret. He wants her trust, but can he give his heart to another woman after he’s already lost so much?

My Review:

I really thought this book was so cute, I liked how Jessie was just as much a part of the story as Annie and Truitt were. With Truitt and Annie both healing from a brokenness in their lives they still worked hard to help others. I love Aunt Sal she sees things that others hope she won’t and loves her nieces and nephews. I love the small town of this book and the sub-characters and how they just love and welcome anyone into there circle. This book was a clean read and was such a fun read. I can’t wait to see where the author takes this family next and I really can’t wait for Tori’s story!! I received a complimentary copy of this book. The Summer Sisters Sara Richardson

Description:

Three sisters search to reunite their family and find love along the way in this heartwarming, multi-generational novel—fans of Lori Foster and Maisey Yates won’t be able to resist this author’s “unputdownable, unforgettable stories from the heart” (Jill Shalvis, New York Times bestselling author).

The Buchanan sisters share everything—including their inherited Juniper Inn. But when their mother won’t let go of a decades-long feud with their Aunt Sassy to attend the inn’s grand re-opening, the sisters decide a family reunion is long overdue.

Youngest sister Rose is determined to put together an extravagant celebration. Only she needs to convince a certain surly hardware store owner to help finish the inn’s renovations.

After a heartbreaking end to her marriage, Dahlia and her kids are just starting to rebuild their lives. Dahlia’s even considering opening herself up to love again, but will that upset the stability she’s worked so hard to give her children?

Sassy McGrath has never stopped missing her sister, Lillian, and though they’ve both been too stubborn to reconcile, some shocking news might finally change everything. As family bonds are tested, will these two very different generations of women find the strength to believe in themselves and each other?

My Review:

Y’all the Sisters are back and so is Sassy!!! I forgot how much I like this group of women in Home for the Holidays until I started reading this book. I like I am catch up with friends with this group. Sassy is  still a pistol and this book she was as stubborn as they come, yet set out to help those she loves the most in life. Rose seems to still be find her place at the inn but she is starting to feel like she’s fitting in and is ready to even get her hands dirty and help she’s someone I think in a way we all want to be. Dahlia is a little more reserved in this book and I can understand why she’s trying to find herself after the death of her marriage. Overall I can’t with this group of women they really make me wish I had sisters, such a fun read and I could not put it down so well worth it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Includes the bonus novella A Wedding on Honeysuckle Ridge for the first time in print!

My thoughts on the book:

I really have enjoyed this series and this book did not disappoint. Is this predictable yes to a point but on some things the author keeps you guessing to the very end which for me made me not want to stop reading just so I can see what is going to happen next. I did not like Nate at first, but he grows on you and keeps you questioning his motives for sure. Chase was one of the good guys but he also can come off as unlikeable which made it for me the right balance, it keeping me interested in what he was going to do next. I loved Sadie, she was the person that seem to keep the family together and while she did not like her brother because of his choices in the book she does everything she can to help him do what is right.  If you are looking for a fun read that doesn’t disappoint then this book is for you. I liked that the author kept the book clean to a point and makes it complete enjoyable to read. I received a complimentary copy of this book.
