Hometown Honey Jessica R Patch

Description:

Welcome back to Honeyhaven!

The town is gearing up for the bicentennial and all the festivities including the annual Hometown Honey Pageant. Single mom, Zayda Miller has never been a fan of pageants, particularly this one, but she needs cash and if she could pull it off and win, she could use the sweet prize money to help her achieve her dream. With zero talent or skill in the kitchen—why baking pies is part of the pageant is beyond her—she’s off to a pathetic start. When her high school sweetheart, up and coming chef, Stratton Shay returns to town for the grand event, she reluctantly allows him to help her in the kitchen, but they might be cooking up more than pies for the competition. Until they discover they both want the same thing. And for one of them to win, the other will have to lose.

My thoughts on the book:

What a cute story! I love the characters they are fun and the author has a way as you read about them making you feel like they are your friends and you are just catching up. I loved Zayda’s fighting spirit nothing was going to stop her from her dream of making a better life for her little family. I loved how she kept her head high even with some poor choices she made. I like Stratton even though sometimes I want to punch him and tell him to spit it out. Oh my Crockett he and Scout I know he did her wrong but I hope they work things out they just seem like they belong together. This book is a good clean read and suitable for all. Super quick read and it was well worth it.

Wanted by the Marshal by Susan Lute

Description:

She doesn’t believe in happily-ever-afters…

Summoned to Angel Point for her sister’s bridal shower, U.S. Marshal Dakota James’s plan is to make sure her sister doesn’t make the same mistake their parents did. But her quick in-and-out mission gets derailed when Taylor won’t listen and instead tries to introduce Dakota to every member of the single male population in Angel Point. One former marine in particular sets off life-changing fireworks that tempt her to reconsider her single status.

He wants to be more than friends…

Beckett Leland came to Angel Point to check on his cousin’s widow and young boys and found a quiet, out-of-the-way town where he and his retired military dog, Tucker, could peacefully make the transition to civilian life. What he doesn’t count on is running into a fiery, passionate woman who doesn’t believe that love and happy endings are possible. But he wants more than friendship from the marshal who has taken his heart into custody.

Can he convince her that true love is real and their happiness waits just around the corner?

My thoughts on the book:

This author is new to me and I am not disappointed at all. I love small town romances and this book was spot on. Yes the book was predictable, but hang in there it was totally worth it. I loved everything about this book. I loved how Dakota was strong, independent and stubborn, but she met her match with both Beckett and her sister Taylor. Taylor killed me I did not read her story but she’s a pistol and has no problem telling people how its going to be. I really liked Claud and Betty oh my what a sweet couple. If you are looking a good clean read with a story that will get to your heart this is the story for you. I so enjoyed this fun read and can’t wait for more from the town of Angel Point. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

On a Coastal Breeze Suzanne Woods Fisher

Description:

For Madison Grayson, life is good. Newly licensed as a marriage and family therapist, she can’t wait to start her practice. Despite the unfortunate shortage of eligible bachelors on the island–they’re all too young, too old, or too weird–Maddie feels like she’s finally found her sweet spot. Not even one panic attack in the last year. Not one.

And then Ricky O’Shea drops in. Literally. Floating down from the pure blue sky, the one man in the world she hoped never to see again–the one who’d been her archnemesis from kindergarten through her senior dance–parachutes into town, landing on Boon Dock, canopy draping behind him like a superhero. Ricky O’Shea. Now Pastor Rick, the new minister on Three Sisters Island.

Time to panic.

With wit and a bit of whimsy, bestselling author Suzanne Woods Fisher invites you back to Three Sisters Island where family, forgiveness, and a second chance at love await.

My thoughts on the book:

I really enjoyed  this story I was however not a fan of so many characters I wish the author would have just stuck with just two characters. I really wanted more from Rick and his thoughts and feeling, up to the end he felt more of a mystery that not. I did feel like we heard a lot more of Cam and Seth’s story and Madi and Rick’s story was just kind of thrown in instead of the other way around. I get this story was geared around the family, I guess I just wanted more and felt like something was missing a little. I did like being able to catch up with Cam and Seth. I don’t know why but I feel like I can relate with Blaine I really can’t wait to read her story. I love the banter between Peg and Paul and the fun and with the other characters. Over all this book is a clean read and is worth the read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Charmed by the Cook’s Kids Melinda Curtis

Description:

A cook rediscovers her passion…
Thanks to a new chef in town
If she’s to keep her diner afloat, single mom Ivy Parker must overhaul her menu. When high-profile chef Cam Monroe comes to Second Chance, she’s wary of asking for help. Would a perfectionist like him approve of the corners she cuts to find time for her children? But as Cam helps her rediscover her love for cooking, Ivy finds they have more in common than she expected…

My thoughts on the book:

I really love reading about the Monroe family. I like how Grandpa Harlan has set the rules and it really has soften and open the hearts of some. When I first started this book I did not like Cam I really honestly didn’t expect to like this book because he just got on my nerves. However that changed pretty quickly he grows on you quickly and he starts to show his true self and his heart. I have loved Ivy from the get go and she has always been a favorite and I could not wait to read her story. Her story was not always easy to read but it makes who she its that much more special. I loved her boys and their spunkiness. There was a situation with Gabby that I want to know what happened but I am sure the author has something big planned for that, not so much that she left us hanging but build up for the next I am sure. I really enjoyed this book a lot and can’t wait for more from this family. If you are looking for a clean read and a fun read check this series out, you won’t be disappointed. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

First Kiss with a Cowboy Sara Richardson

Description:

n national bestselling author Sara Richardson’s first book in the Silverado Lake series, “the pace is fast, the setting’s charming, and the love scenes are delicious” when a risk-taking cowboy convinces a no-nonsense writer to give him a second chance (Publishers Weekly, Starred Review).
Shy and sensible romance writer Jane Harding’s carefully ordered life is crumbling around her. With her latest novel due and her teaching contract at an end, returning home to help plan her best friend’s wedding is a welcome distraction. Yet when Jane discovers that the too-hot-to-handle boy who once tempted her is now the best man — and the rodeo circuit’s sexiest bull rider — her distraction is in danger of becoming a disaster . . .
Toby Garrett is no stranger to risk. But this latest injury could end his rodeo career for good. Thankfully, his recovery at home isn’t as awful as he’d imagined, especially when he comes face-to-face with Jane. The kiss they once shared still fuels his fantasies, but when she walked away, he let her go. Now Toby is determined to fix his mistakes. Can this sweet-talking cowboy prove that the passion still burning between them is worth braving the odds?

My thoughts on the book:

Who doesn’t like a good cowboy book. I found this story super cute. I liked the struggle between the two main characters because it wasn’t just the struggle between each other but the struggles they faced in there every day life. They faced them without coming off as whiney. I liked Beth she was a friend everyone should have, someone willing to love you in spite of. I liked all the characters and small town of this book, I feel like it they could be friends even the old bitty’s. This book does have adult situations but over all it a really fun read and I found it hard to put down wanting to know what the characters were up to next. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

My Kind of Cowboy R. C. Ryan

Description:

his New York Times bestselling author delivers a “page-turning romance” (Nora Roberts) about a city girl on the run and the strong, protective cowboy who keeps her safe.

Brand Merrick is a take-charge cowboy who considers relax a four-letter word. So when an injury lands him six weeks of physical therapy, he intends to keep right on working-until his grandmother hires a therapist to stay at their family ranch. He’s not used to following orders, or slowing down, but Avery Grant has a way of getting him to do things he’d never thought he’d do . . .

Avery hates to admit it, but this super sexy rancher is testing her patience…and her professionalism. She’s a born-and-bred city girl, yet she finds herself drawn to the rugged wilderness and the equally rugged cowboy she’s here to help. But when a threat from her past follows Avery to Montana, it’s Brand who rides to the rescue-if only she’ll put her trust in him, and the growing feelings in her heart.

My thoughts on the book:

I feel like lately every time I get my hands on a book by this author it feels like coming home. She has a way of making you either feel like you are right there or that you are catching up with friends and it was very much that case in this book. I also had a hard time putting this book down. I wanted more so much more. I loved Liz and the brothers and hope their stories are coming soon. I also like how this author tries and keeps the books as close to a clean read. I really liked Avery to me she came off as this person while she faced a lot it didn’t break who she was and she still continued on with life and what it handed her. Brand was a hard nut to crack, but he was still very likable and very much a trustworthy older son who just needed a little push. I seriously can’t wait for more from these fun character and to see what will happen next. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Hooked On You Cathryn Fox

Description:

Hooked on You is a sweet treat read that will give you all the good feels!” – USA Today and WSJbestselling author Avery Flynn

I’m a bookworm, a mathematician, not the kind of girl a hot lobster fisherman would notice.

Until he did.

I’m not in small town Nova Scotia to hook up. I’m here to settle my grandmother’s estate and sell the B&B, which I soon discover has been overrun with seasonal fisherman and operated on the honor system. The hard-core fishing folks become an instant family––the one I never had. Then there’s the blind pet cow, who has a crush on my hot fisherman, Nate. Okay, technically he’s not mine. I have no desire to get reeled in.

Until I do.

Soon, the little town grows on me, and the fisherman? It’s not long until I take the bait and we’re playing house at the B&B. Things are looking up.

Until they aren’t.

Rumors about a new plant and jobs being in jeopardy start swirling around town like a nor’easter, and all the signs point to my guy being behind the scandal. Should I give him enough line to play it out and learn his true intentions, or cut and run before I’m hooked?

My thoughts on the book:

This is the first book by this author for me. I did like that Sam and Jason. Sam was super fun and made me want to get to know him more. I can honestly say I don’t think I have ever read a book based in Canada and it made me want to go to this small town and get to see it. This book is told in the first person, the author does list who is talking so that does help. Over all I was not a huge fan of this book I found the book completely predictable and it just really was not for me. This book also has a ton of strong language and sex throughout, so it may not suitable for all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Will this summer tour opening up for a mega country star be full of extraordinary dreams coming true, or will this be a true test of strength that could push even the strongest person past their limits?

My thoughts on the book:

I loved that this book was the bands view of what was taking place while reading Skyrocket and Kyra and Matt’s story. I loved this book it was so hard to put down and it was a super quick read. In the end of this book I was very torn because I feel like this book could be the end of the series right now, however I also feel like the author sucks you in and has you wanting, as saying stick around the best is yet to come. I love that this read was a good clean read and you got to catch up on so many fun characters. You really can not go wrong with this book or this series. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

Can’t Hurry Love Melinda Curtis

Description:

From a USA Today bestselling author comes a heartwarming romance about a city girl who finds herself widowed in a quirky small town and the new target of the town’s relentless matchmaking Widows Club.

Head-over-heels in love, Lola Williams gave up everything to marry Randy, including a promising career in New York City. Now, after one year of marriage and one year of widowhood, Lola finds herself stranded in Sunshine, Colorado, reeling from the revelation that Randy had secrets she never could have imagined. She swears she’s done with love forever but the matchmaking ladies of the Sunshine Valley Widows Club have different plans…

Sheriff Drew Taylor also knows what it feels like to be unlucky in love. So when Lola comes to him for help uncovering Randy’s hidden life, Drew finds himself saying yes against his better judgment – especially with the Widows Club eyeing them both. Soon enough, Lola is upending Drew’s peaceful, predictable world…and he kind of likes it! But will this big-city girl ever give her heart to a small-town guy again?

My thoughts on the book:

I am excited this is a series, I say that because the town of Sunshine it full of some really fun characters and I can’t wait to see where the author goes next.  My two favorite characters would have to be Lola and Becky, Becky was a pistol she was so cute, sometimes you never knew what was going to come out of her mouth. I like Lola because no matter what she was a fighter and super independent she also had a vulnerability to her that made her feel like she could be your best friend, which made it feel like you were catching up instead of reading about fictional characters. I liked the judge too and his punishments oh my if we all had a judge like this in our towns. I wish that one thing that happened towards the end would have happened a little sooner, but I understand the book had to play out the way it did for a reason. Overall this book was fun read and it was a good clean read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

A traditional, clean romance with no cheating, no cliffhangers, and a guaranteed happily-ever-after.

My thoughts on the book:

I am truly loving this series so far. I just can with this book though. The author takes two broken people who both feel very unlovable for very different reasons and sends you on a journey to find there happy ever after. This book had my emotions all over the place the author has you laughing and crying and literally you don’t want to put the book down because you want to know what’s going to happen next. I loved the twin they were feisty and they were your typical sisters they fought with each other but at the end of the day they had each others back. I really loved this book, I loved that the author kept it clean and its suitable for all. This book was quick read and you won’t regret grabbing it so worth the read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”
