Falling in Love at Pennycress Inn Sarah Hope

Description:

Perfect cosy escape for fans of Jessica Redland, Rachael Lucas and Phillipa Ashley!

Is this just a summer romance or could it be more? 💕

Nicola grew up at Pennycress Inn, in the beautiful Cotswold village of Meadowfield, and now she’s come full circle by landing a job there. After a difficult few months, she’s happy to be back in the place she loves and calls home.

The whole village is looking forward to the annual summer carnival, and Nicola is charged with asking the local farmers to lend their tractors and trailers for the occasion. It’s an easy task – until she meets the new owner of Little Mead Farm, who stubbornly refuses to help.

On sabbatical from his City job for the summer, Charlie wants to do up his late uncle’s farm and put it on the market as soon as possible. The place might have been in his family for generations but country life is simply not for him. He has no time for whatever the villagers are up to.

When Nicola and Charlie meet, sparks fly – and unexpected feelings grow. Soon there’s more at stake in Meadowfield than the success of the carnival. But whatever happens between them, this is just a summer romance… isn’t it?

My Review:This is a new to me author and I really found this story cute. It gave Gilmore girl vibes but a twist of its own. I did feel it dragged a little bit here and there but overall it was a really fun read. I liked Nicola she was not about to put up with any ones stuff and she had a big heart always wanting to help those in her small town and those she cares for. Charlie was grumpy but deep down had a heart that just was protected by a big wall. I really liked Jill and Laura they are so sweet and the best friends a girl could have. I did not read the first story but I want to go after reading this to see what the characters were all up to. The author kept this book a clean read so suitable for all readers.

Description:

But when the unexpected loss of her mentor sends her spiraling, she’s prescribed a healthy dose of time off. Luckily, she’s just inherited the perfect home where she can recover. Unluckily, she’s now co-owners with her high school crush/nemesis, Jake Walker. How can she truly relax when her heart is at risk?

Sage’s mother, Gia, is dealing with a crisis of her own. A new book is about to reveal their family’s biggest secret—and Gia’s devasting heartbreak. The only person she can confide in is the one man she shouldn’t be getting close to: her sister’s ex.

But just as Sage and Gia are starting to find their paths, someone from Gia’s past resurfaces who could ruin everything they’ve worked so hard to build.

My Review:

What a fun ride! Catching Up with the Rosettis is another entertaining installment in a series that I’ve truly grown to love. The Rosetti family is the perfect mix of dysfunctional and lovable — the kind of “normal” chaos that makes you feel right at home.

One of the things I really appreciate about this series is how the author makes you feel like you’re right there, part of the action, simply catching up with old friends. The storytelling is immersive and warm, and this book is no exception.

I especially enjoyed the subtle love-hate dynamic between the two main characters. It added a realistic layer to their relationship that felt authentic rather than forced. Sage, in particular, stood out to me — driven and determined to get things done her way, but also thoughtful and willing to fight for what’s right for everyone involved.

And Jake — well, he’s a smooth one! But his charm and sneakiness come from a good place, and he keeps Sage on her toes in the best ways.

Overall, this was such a fun read. Whether you’ve been following the series or are jumping in fresh, the Rosettis are absolutely worth spending time with.

When a mysterious man at the lodge saves her life–more than once–Remi becomes suspicious and confronts him. After a catastrophic event in his own life, former military pilot Hawk Beckett is trying to get some perspective at the suggestion of his former commanding officer. Faced with the fiercest storm to hit the coast in a decade, Remi and Hawk are forced into survival mode.

But they’re not alone at the lodge. Someone doesn’t want Remi to remember what happened–and they will stop at nothing to see her dead.

“Elizabeth Goddard’s Storm Warning is perfectly named. This book takes readers by storm as her characters face danger not only from outside forces but also from the deadly secrets that rage inside their souls. Secrets that could cost them . . . everything. Highly recommended.”–Nancy Mehl, author of the Ryland and St. Clair series

My Review:

This book did not disappoint. I could not put this book down and was up till wee hours trying to finish it because it was just that good. The author hints here and there throughout the book on who the bad  guy is to keep you guessing, One minute you think you have it all figured out and then the next you are wondering who it could be. I really liked Remi while she was dealt a rough situation she handled it with the best head on her shoulders and not wanted to get those close to her hurt. Hawk was a man of mystery he try to keep things close to the vest but also trusted those who he thought had his best interest at heart. They both sought answers to things going south in their lives and hoped to each help each other find those answers. This book will keep you going and was well worth the read.

The Cowboy’s Forbidden Bride Megan Crane

Description:

Wilder Carey has always enjoyed living up to his name. When he spots pretty Cat Lisle in the seediest bar around, he ignores the bad blood between their families to step in. But his uncharacteristic good intentions scatter when she kisses him—and this unrepentant heartbreaker faces three uncomfortable truths:

  1. He’s been nursing an attraction to an innocent.
  2. He’s not a man built to resist temptation.
  3. And Cat is not only not the little girl he’s been pretending she is, she might be the one woman worth the trouble.

Cat’s over being well-behaved, but thanks to her grumpy and overprotective older brothers, she’s had no choice. Now that she’s ready to ruin her reputation, she lucks into an encounter with the cowboy of her hottest fantasies. Cat knows she’s supposed to avoid the Carey family, but Wilder is everything deliciously naughty and if she doesn’t take her shot, she’ll regret it forever…

Soon Wilder is secretly teaching her every sexy trick he knows, and Cat is falling in love… but what happens when sworn enemies want to go public?

My Review:

I really liked Cat man she is a pistol and she was not going to take anything from her brothers or anyone else for that matter anymore. She was such a fun read I thought for sure that at some point she might come off as winey but I was so wrong, once she set her sight on something there was not detouring her from that. Wilder was a mystery to me for most of the book. He seemed to be holding himself at arms length from everyone but his twin Ryder, which by the way was so fun to read the banter between these two, such typical siblings. I don’t think there was really one hero in this book I felt like Wilder and Cat complimented each other and when one was weak the other lifted them on. There is sexual content in this story so it may not be suitable for all readers. Overall thought this was a fun read and I can’t wait to see what is up with the rest of the bothers and Where tricks are up the sleeves by Belinda and Zeke.

Marrying the Nanny Dani Collins

Description:

When infant Storm is orphaned, nanny Emma Wright, on a work visa and still reeling from a painful divorce, yearns to adopt her but must relinquish Storm to her three adult half-brothers. They remind her of a pack of wolves—protective, but not prepared to care for a baby. Alpha male Reid is especially aloof and intimidating.

Like his younger brothers, Reid Fraser left the Westcoast village of Raven’s Cove at eighteen and never looked back. Now a successful corporate consultant who rescues failing businesses—which is what this fly-in fishing resort has become, Reid must rally his brothers to save Storm’s inheritance, but he and his estranged brothers barely get along. They can’t deal with an infant, too. They need the nanny.

As Emma coaches Reid through midnight feedings and teething, they try to ignore the sexual pull between them. Then they learn Storm may have family who could take her from them. Reid proposes a marriage of convenience, but will it be enough to keep this fractured family together?

My Review:

Let me first start off saying if you have ever dealt with pregnancy loss, IVF or struggled to get pregnant this book may hit you different. Now that being said this book was good. Emma had one of the biggest hearts and sweetest spirits it seemed like everyone liked her, she was one that it was hard not to like. Reid was a pain in the you know what but typical brothers always the oldest having to figure out life for the younger ones. He does grow on you though. I loved Glenda there was no getting around her, when she spoke the boys, heck everyone listened she just had a love for people that shined off the pages. I really can’t wait to see what antics the brother’s get up to in the series. Overall it was worth the read, there is sexual content in the book so it may not be suitable for all.

Perfect for fans of Charlotte Hubbard, Wanda Brunstetter, and Linda Byler.

Her gentle faith and knowledge are somehow giving him hope he can change his life—and offer her the love she truly deserves. But when his secrets catch up with him, can he and Mary find the courage to face the truth, set things to rights . . . and make way for a future together?

My Review:

I really liked Mary she was this spit fire and she really was reserved but had an amazing group of friends and family that had her back and would help her with anything. She also knew when to fight for what was right. I was not a real big fan of Clay I felt he tried to be the martyr the whole story and after a while he just became annoying. I LOVED Cathy she hands down made this book, she had me laughing and also gasping at things that was coming out of her mouth, you defiantly knew where you stood with her for sure. I also loved Mary’s sister’s they were so fun. Overall this was a fun read and a clean read, however there are some very tough topics discussed so may not be suitable for all readers.

A Woman of Fortune Kellie Coates Gilbert

What is the book about:

Texas socialite Claire Massey is living the dream. Her world is filled with designer clothes, luxury cars, and stunning homes. But her Neiman-Marcus lifestyle comes crashing down when her charming cattle broker husband is arrested for fraud. Suddenly, she finds herself facing attorneys, a media frenzy, and a trail of broken hearts. Betrayed and humiliated, Claire must start over against incredible odds to save her family–and discover a life worth living.

My thoughts on the book:

I would have to say on a a-f rating I would rate this a B. I did not dislike the book but I have to say it wasn’t one of my favorites either. I felt the book draws you in and then it goes down and up and down till you get till about the middle of the book and then its stays really steady. I do like how the book talks about unconditional love in the hard times. There is a lot of how not all rich people but so rich people act high then thou attitudes and to me it seems a little extreme at times. Since this book is based on a rich family who goes through something and then as a family they are tested greatly, and everything they know has been thrown upside down. At some points I was wondering if I was reading a christian book faith is not a big thing in the book but it is underlined.
I have to say my favorite characters in the whole book were Max and Jana Rae and it was because they seemed like the most down to earth and realistic people. They truly show what God’s Love is and I think that was what the author may have been going for. The biggest factor in this book is forgiveness, and how we need to forgive and don’t let the past dictate the future. I read this book in 2 days only cause I had to work other wise it is a fairly quick read. On the 2nd morning I woke up and the first verse that came to mind is John 15:13 I looked it up and this is what it reads: Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
When I started reading this again the 2nd day this verse came to mind again and I really feel that that sums this book up perfectly. Over all I would say read the book give it a shot you may feel different about it then I do. But in the end I would have to say this is probably not a book I would keep on my shelf.

Decadent: Big Sky Pie #4 Andrianne Lee

What’s the book about:

Contractor Wade Reynolds is having a tough year. His cherry farm went bust, and his construction clients threaten to unhinge what’s left of his sanity. But Wade’s passion for life heats up when he’s hired to remodel a new storefront next to Big Sky Pie -and he falls for the red-hot, bad girl who’s setting up her catering shop there.

Fresh off her own divorce, Roxy isn’t looking for another relationship, just a spontaneous fling or three. Her contractor Wade looks as delicious as her specialty confections, but he’s way too buttoned-up for a casual affair. Yet there’s an ultra-sexy strength about him Roxy can’t resist. What that man clearly needs is something decadent-like her…

My thoughts on the book:

This book was a fun read. I love how the characters have so much chemistry, its sweet and caring but HOT with a capitol H, between them and you can feel it coming of the page. I think one of my favorite things about this book and thus far with all of Ms. Lee’s book are that everything seems to be fixed with pie and a good drink or a simple beer. There is a part in the book were the men are sitting around drinking beer and eating pie and it reminds me of my Father in-law and his friends you will always find them sitting around drinking and eatin, so I feel like this could be very much real life too. I liked how she took to broken people who were not ready for much of anything and shared the story in such away that it kept you hooked till the end. You go rooting for the underdog in this book. But each person seems to deal with some rough issues but they don’t wallow in it. I love how she also brought back the characters from other books and gets you caught up in there lives but doesn’t go to far from the storyline to do so like I have seen other authors do. I can not wait to read more from her she has a gift for story telling and this book does a good job showing it. This book ends with a recipe and I swear a girl can never have enough pie recipes. I hope you enjoy this fun book. I got this book from netgalley for my honest review

Fools Gold Christmas Susan Mallery

What the Book is about:

The unrelenting cheer in Fool’s Gold, California, is bringing out the humbug in dancer Evie Stryker. She learned early on that Christmas miracles don’t happen, at least not for her. And this year seems like no exception. An injury has forced her to return to the family fold, no matter that they’re estranged. She won’t add to the awkward scenario by being seduced by the bad-boy charms of her brother’s best friend, the last man she should ever want to date. Even when she’s recruited to stage the Fool’s Gold winter festival, she vows to do as promised, then move forward with her life anywhere but here. Jaded lawyer Dante Jefferson is getting used to the backwater town he now reluctantly calls home, but the pounding of little dancers’ feet above his temporary office is more than any man should have to take! When he confronts their gorgeous teacher, he’s unprepared for the attraction that sears him down to the soul. Evie is his best friend’s sister–off-limits unless he’s willing to risk his heart. Dante has always believed that love is the most dangerous force in the universe, but that was before he had to reckon with the magic of a certain small town, where miracles do seem to happen….

 My thoughts on the book:

I have to say hands down this is one of my favorite series of books. I love this little town of Fools Gold. In each book the mystery of the mayor just add to it and this book is not different. I love how each time you catch up with characters from past books and each time it only adds to the story. In this one Evie is brought to Fools Gold and she is not happy about it. Why she does everything to fight it in heart and in her soul, she throws herself into dancing which she has always enjoyed. She doesn’t want to deal with the issues of her family and with Christmas right on her she starts to realize she may not have a choose. She finds friendship in Dante who is also fighting his own demons. Dante is also fighting dealing with the town of Fools Gold and decides his only ally is Evie and they become 2 against everyone else. I love everything about these 2 I love how they are friends and there helping each other “out”. I had a hard time putting this book down I wanted to find out how it end with these two since for the few books before they each had a small part in them I was so happy to finally hear there stories. This is a story you can not go wrong with it fun, quick read and really good love story to get lost in.

Shaken (Heart of a Warrior series) Kariss Lynch

What the Book is about:

When her world is shaken, will her foundation survive?
Idealistic and sheltered with a passion to change the world, Kaylan Richards leaves her comfortable life in Alabama to serve in poverty-stricken Haiti. Despite her inexperience and the opposition of a voodoo priest, Kaylan develops a love for the country and the Haitian people. But something deadly is about to strike.

It is the worst earthquake the country has ever seen, and in its aftermath bodies, buildings, and broken lives litter the streets. People she cares about are dead, and Kaylan is caught in the middle of the destruction, questioning a God who said He was good.

Navy SEAL Nick Carmichael never planned to find a girl he loved more than his country. Now she is a world away, trapped in a deadly situation nothing could have prepared her for. Can Nick’s love help Kaylan heal and show her the God who never abandoned her, or will tragedy shake even the most rooted faith?

 My Thoughts on the book:

First off let me start off by saying that the book is broken up into 4 parts and so I wanted to break up my review into the same four parts, however the whole book is just that good I didn’t want to do that I feel like I would be taking the book apart to much . In first Kaylan and Sarah Beth(BFF) graduate college a semester early and decide its there turns to take on the world, well at least Hati, so Kaylan has the daunting task of telling her parents her plan, but before that can happen her past has come back and now she is having 2nd thoughts about everything. Her and Sarah have a bond that Kaylan can turn to Sarah as a sister and ask her for anything or help her with anything they are like 2 peas in a pod. I had the hardest time putting this book down it was amazing it keeps you wanting for more and just want to put life on hold for a few hours just to read this book. From the very first page to the very last page the momentum of the story does not stop. This book hand down would get 8 stars if I could give it that. If you are ready to read a book that keeps you wanting more this is your book I would have to say I could easily compare where righting and hold you in the book style to Dee Henderson.I cant think of one negative thing to say about it.
