Wrangling the Cowboys Heart Leah Vale

Description:

His little sister’s best friend…

The moment Amanda Rodrigues placed her hand over his heart to break up a fight, rancher Liam Neisson knew he was in trouble. He may have watched Amanda grow up next door and run in and out of his house indulging in wild escapades with his sister, but at this year’s rodeo, he suddenly can no longer think of her as the dark-haired little orphan girl running wild. She’s now a stubborn brown-eyed beauty who needs his help.

Her best friend’s big brother…

Sure she’s crushed on Liam all her life, but can she trust him? Barrel racer Amanda recently inherited her parents’ small dream ranch years ago, and has learned to run it with little help, but when a letter arrives from an attorney saying his client has a promissory note now due, Amanda knows even her will and hard work ethic won’t be enough. Liam’s family offers to help, but his offer to buy her prized stallion raises her suspicions. What if Amanda is risking more than her heart?

My thoughts on the book:

I really enjoyed this quick read. The characters just worked if that makes sense. You have Liam who is a fighter but is dealing with pain after the loss of his mom but still whiling to fight for those he loves. You have Amanda who has spent her whole life dealing with loss and she’s her self is fighting the unknown but will stop at nothing to protect her families legacy. The way the author keeps you guessing especially with Uncle Red makes you wonder what is going to happen next. Can I just say how much I like Ian and want to know what happens with him. This book does have adult situation but over all was a quick and fun read so well worth it.

My thoughts on the book:

So I got this book and finished it right away I could not put this book down, it truly draws you in and leaves you wanting more. To me the characters seemed very relatable to a point which is nice. They were fun to read about and it felt like you were right there sometimes. I liked Levi’s sisters they love him but they but they are ready to be their own person and have no problem telling him. I loved how Mia has such a big heart, while we hear in real life that movie stars are so selfish the author had a way of making Mia relatable and it was really hard not to like her. I really like the community of this book. It really goes to show you that you can make your own family. This book is a good clean read. The book was a really fun read and I can’t wait to see where the siblings go next I am totally rooting for Grace. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Being Known Robin Jones Gunn

Description:

From the bestselling author of Becoming Us comes a novel that asks: What does it mean to be truly known? In a marriage, in a friendship, or by a loving God?

After her mom passed away, Jennalyn was in the midst of moving, adjusting to life with a new baby, and helping her husband, Joel, work toward his dream job. At the time, she thought she’d processed her mother’s death, but only now that Jennalyn has two small children, a lovely new home, and a husband who is always working does she feel the full impact of what she has lost.

Even among her sweet circle of friends, the Haven Makers, grief silently overwhelms Jennalyn, until an unexpected encounter allows her to express herself in ways she hasn’t fully been able to with her husband. Even though Christy, Sierra, Emily, and Tess provide a soft place to land in times of tension, Jennalyn remains guarded, especially when Tess reveals she is tangled emotionally in a relationship that was thorny from the start.

Will the two women open up and remain honest with the others in their Haven Makers group? Or will their hesitation to truly be known, faults and all, keep them from holding on to the friendships that have been the sweetest gift during this season of life?

My thoughts on the book:

Just like Becoming Us this book is about friendship and finding hope in the Lord and those friendships. I felt like this book got really to the heart of the matter with Jennalyn, with her missing her mom and the struggles she faces. This book was told in a first person point of view and I was not a fan of that. The author keeps this book clean so that is so nice allowing suitable for age appropriate readers. I think it goes back to this author has written about Christy for years and this series seems to be the adult version and the friendships she is forming along the way. I love these group of women and their friendships. Life is not perfect and life always hands you trials and the author doesn’t try and make anything perfect or sugar coat anything. If you are looking for a fun read that’s a breathe of fresh air and a little different then other books out there,  this is worth the read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Description:

Whitney Carroll is back home in Gatlinburg, Tennessee after divorcing her low-down, cheating husband. First thing on the to-do list: Get a job. Second thing: Just say no to men. Third thing: Don’t fall for the boss. One out of three’s not too bad, right?

For Sam Ellis, his to-do list is always work, work, work, trying to keep his family’s legacy alive. And he knows just who to ask…his new man-vegan assistant.

Yet Whitney’s sexy boss—secret singer and Skee-Ball champion—is definitely NOT boring, and their connection is undeniable. But when a disaster strikes at work, Sam will have to decide if he’s willing to trade in his job for his heart.

My thoughts on the book:

I didn’t read the first book in the series and I have never read anything by this author so I wasn’t sure what to expect. When I first started this book it seemed like so many other relationships of convince, however I liked all the characters they were fun and Family was first no matter what they faced. I loved Betsy she is a pistol and oh my I can’t wait to read her story. I loved Whitney why she has a broken spirit from her divorce she was a fighter and willing to take on whatever was thrown at her. This book over all was a fun read it did have sex indicated but not in-depth. I can’t wait to read more from this author and see what these fun characters are up to next. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Cowboy for Hire Victoria James

Description:
When a shy woman inherits a ranch, she’ll have to find an inner strength to succeed—and open herself up to love—in this heartwarming novel from New York Times bestselling author Victoria James.

Sarah Turner has led a very sheltered life. So when her parents pass away tragically, suddenly she’s left in charge of the family ranch with little know-how but plenty of will to keep it afloat. Determined not to lose her parents’ legacy or her newfound independence, she needs a hero fast—not to save her, but to show her how to save herself. But she’s unprepared for the ruggedly handsome cowboy who answers her ad.

“Cowboy for Hire,” the ad said, and Cade Walker is quick to respond. Betrayed as ranch manager by his former boss, he’s looking for a new place to put down roots—without the pressure to prove himself again. Except when he meets his new boss, it’s clear he’s not only there to run a ranch but to also teach Miss Independent how to run it. But as they struggle to make the ranch flourish, they’ll both need courage if they hope to find a family…together.

Each book in the Wishing River series is STANDALONE:
* The Trouble with Cowboys
* Cowboy for Hire

My thoughts on the book:

I liked this story it was super cute, emotional and a fun read. I liked Sarah my heart broke for her and everything she faced, but she was a fighter and nothing was going to hold her back from getting what she wants. Oh my goodness Cade I think I have a dislike/love relationship with him in this story. Sometimes I wanted to smack him and then sometimes my heart broke for him, I think in this story you will find two heroes not just one. I also really enjoyed the other characters in the book they are all a fun group of friends and the author made you feel like you were right there hanging out. I can’t wait to see what adventure the author takes Dean and Hope one, or at least that’s what I hope the author is going for next. :-). Overall this was a fun read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Have you ever read a book and you know your coming to the end but you also don’t want it to end because its just that good? That book was this to me. I really could not put this book down. the author  will keep you on the edge of your seat for sure. I liked how the author kept the book clean. I loved Ivy she is your typical teenager attitude but also the most respectful caring girl with the biggest heart. Hunter faced a lot but still tried to follow Gods will. Seriously grab this book its a quick read and you can’t go wrong.

The Melody in my Head Nikki Lynn Barrett

Description:

This is Book 2 in the Love and Music in Texas series. Baby Stetson kicks off the series.

Welcome back to Harmony’s Echo, Texas…..

Melody Roland is on the run from the one person she trusted completely. One who hid a dark past she could never have imagined. When a pregnant woman on the bus she’s fleeing on goes into labor, Melody rushes to her aide. Now she finds herself stranded in a tiny remote town just off the highway, with no way to her original destination.

She’s alone, on edge, and unsure who to trust. Her instincts scream to get far away and fast. But how and where?

Jameson Grant struggles through the roughest year of his life. Suffering from the loss of his father, one grief stricken night, he made a mistake. One which cost him the only woman he’s ever loved. Each lonely day he’s faced with the constant reminders of how quick things can change. Throwing himself into the one thing he has left, his music, helps dull the pain he fights to keep hidden. His last salvation begins to crumble as things spiral out of control and he has no choice but to face the ‘music’ of his past.

The last thing he needs or wants in his life is a woman with more trouble on her heels than the best of country music lyrics. But Melody sings a sirens call within him that can’t be ignored.

Jameson and Melody bond in ways stronger than either could have imagined, but one dangerous person from her past may threaten it all…

If she doesn’t flee before he can convince her to stay, and that some love songs last an eternity.

My thoughts on the book:

What a fun story as a follow up to book one. I loved that you get to catch up with Avery and Lucas and what they have been up too. I like Melody she was a fighter and super independent but the relationship she has with her dad and brother speaks volume, I love how the author makes her feel come off as a “queen” but not someone who is stuck up. I liked Jameson he had a lot of demons he needed to fight in order to face his life and one of those was figuring out how to help his mom. The emotions in tis story just seem to jump off the page and I truly felt like I was catching up with friends and not reading a book. There is cursing and adult situations in this book. The book was so fun and hard to put down you can’t go wrong with it.

But Kaely is skeptical, and a search for a pattern in the locations of the fires bolsters her suspicions.

After yet another blaze devastates a local family, Kaely is certain a serial arsonist is on the loose. Calling upon her partner from St. Louis, Noah Hunter, and her brother’s firefighter neighbor who backs Kaely’s suspicions, Kaely and her team begin an investigation that swiftly leads them down a twisted path. When the truth is finally revealed, Kaely finds herself confronting a madman who is determined his last heinous act will be her death.

My thoughts on the book:

This book will have you on the edge of your seat for sure. I will I did not read the first book in the series and part of me wants to just to go back and see what I missed. I would also say to me this book is not a romance book, while the characters do express feeling its never to each other. This book deals with some tough subjects and keeps you wondering what is going to happen next, The keeps it clean so that was a plus in my book. I did also enjoy that the author seem to hold nothing back in this book. If you are looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat from beginning to end then grab this book you won’t be disappointed. Oh I will say this though the book ends in a cliffhanger of sorts.

Description:

The only thing that saved him from isolation was his foster dad and life on Redemption Ranch. Now he spends his time on the rodeo circuit, sending home his winnings to help the ranch succeed, and his nights with buckle bunnies, making sure no one gets too close.

The town sweetheart who saw the good in everyone…

When accountant Hailey Spencer is hired by Redemption Ranch to implement their new ideas, she and Chase are thrown together. It’s not long before he is introduced to the son that she had with his best friend. The best friend who would’ve followed Chase anywhere…even the bull riding circuit with it’s deadly potential. The two try to fight their age-old attraction – in vain. Chase knows Hailey deserves more than a broken-down cowboy for her son and her heart.

Can Chase resist the call of the rodeo and man up for a woman he’s loved for years?

My thoughts on the book:

This book is like the first in the series, I have to say I have really enjoyed reading about how family is what you make of it and that’s what Chase, West, and Ty are doing with the help of Tara and now Hailey. I liked how once again the author took and strong hard headed women who will fight for she wants and will stop at nothing to protect her son. I however was not a fan of Chase in this book, I found him to come off as whinny a lot. He did eventually grow on me but to me he was more a grouchy old man feeling the the Hot smoking cowboy the author was trying to portray. There is a good about of curse words and sex in this book so it may not be suitable for all. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

Chasing the Runaway Bride Susan Meier

Description:

When Marine-turned-rancher, Cade Donovan, inherits his grandfather’s grocery store, he has no choice except to return home. A couple problems with that:

1) The small, gossiping town still doesn’t know the real reason Cade left twelve years ago.

2) For some reason, his grandfather added an unexpected detail to the will – Cade has to share ownership with Piper O’Riley.

The O’Rileys and the Donovans have been at each other’s throats ever since Cade’s grandfather won the store in a poker game. And now Cade has to share his inheritance with the enemy? The gorgeous, tempting, all-grown-up enemy…

After ditching two fiancés at the altar, Piper’s earned a reputation as the town’s runaway bride. Ironically, Piper is woefully inexperienced with men. Her attraction to Cade and working side-by-side with him is torture. By day, it’s non-stop-bickering, but at night, she can’t stop imagining all the delicious things Cade could teach her.

With the family grudge and the secret of why Cade really left town between them, there’s no way they could ever be together. Right?

The Donovan Brothers series is best enjoyed in order.
Reading Order:
Book #1 Her Summer with the Marine
Book #2 Chasing the Runaway Bride
Book #3 Head Over Heels for the Boss

My thoughts on the book:

This book was a fun read kind of original in a round about way. The storyline is really good keeps your attention and draws you in. Piper at first seems to be this wallflower who is trying to stay behind the scenes because she has had enough gossip about her. However you almost see her grow with in the pages which was refreshing in away, she lets her stubborn side show in the beginning and that is something that’s through out. Cade, he is just plain cocky I wasn’t sure about him at first but he really does grow on you as you read the story. I loved the small town, the crazy characters and the gossip just sums up about every small town there ever is. I loved how close the brothers are an how they will not stop at anything to protect those they love. This book has sex scenes in it so it may not be suitable for all. Overall I felt this was a fun quick read and well worth it. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion
