A Midwife for Sweetwater and A New Face in Town Susan Payne

 Description:

A Midwife for Sweetwater     Young Rebecca Johansen had just signed a contract making her Sweetwater, Kansas’ midwife. Despite her misgivings she knew she would be useful to the growing town and a dependable source of medical care for the women and children living there.     Although she had never heard of such a generous salary nor the fact she had been hired and brought there by the future fathers of the town’s children, she felt blessed to be chosen.  Now she was determined not to let those men or their families down.     Even though keeping a secret of her own, she felt she could more than fulfill her duties.  But will her passion and mutual desire for one man be more of a stumbling block than she ever could have conceived?

A New Face In Town     Frightened and alone, Victoria Watkins was fighting to make right what had suddenly become very, very wrong.  Once thinking she had her whole future set out for her, she finds herself in a strange town seeking work without any credentials or confidence.  After all, what could a poor girl raised in the tobacco fields of Tennessee offer a growing town like Sweetwater?     And what was she to do when Mason, the local sheriff, all but calls her a felon and danger to the town?  How could she explain her stupidity or expect any help from total strangers who didn’t quite trust her either?     And the other feelings the she had to push aside only caused her more distress.  She had only been trying to find a family to belong to, a place to call home and a man to want her for herself. Would her desire for the man who held her in such contempt be her downfall?

My thoughts on the book:

A Midwife for Sweetwater- I liked this story more than I liked the first two books in book one. Daniel and Rebecca both had huge insecurities they needed to overcome to be who they strive to be. But both faced things that continue to make them wonder if Sweetwater was where they would find their happy ever after. I did like catching up with Abby. She was one of my favorites from the other book I read. A New Face in Town- This story was just ok I felt like it was pretty predictable and not really my favorite out of the four stories I have read. I liked Mason and Matthew both have big hearts and will do anything to protect women woman who are being sold and traded. I liked Victoria she was nice but she almost seemed like she really had to try to hard to fit in to Sweetwater and it just didn’t seem to fit from the other stories. In both stories there is sexual content which seems to be the majority of the book to be honest. over all the stories were ok just not for me. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Secret Nights with a Cowboy Caitlin Crews

  Description:

USA Today bestseller Caitlin Crews returns to Cold River, CO, and cowboys, with an emotional second chance romance in Secret Nights with a Cowboy, the stunning first installment in her new Kittredge Ranch series.

A man holding on…

Riley Kittredge has always known exactly what he wanted. His land, his horses. His woman. He met and married Rae Trujillo far too young, and their young love combusted right after they said their vows. But their passion has never managed to burn itself out. Yet when Rae shows this time, it’s not a night of pleasure she demands, but a divorce.

A woman letting go…

Rae should have moved on a long time ago. She knows she and Riley just don’t work. They might make great lovers, but that doesn’t make a marriage. And now Rae wants a new life, complete with a baby. But when her husband offers to be a father, to give her the family she’s always secretly desired, she and Riley will both have to face demons from their past—and choose love over fear at last.

“Loaded with charming characters [and] wit….will win the heart of any romance fan.”—Publishers Weekly (starred review) on A True Cowboy Christmas

My thoughts on the book:

I really was not a fan of this book, I felt like it dragged a lot. I liked Riley he was a pistol he was a stubborn mule and he was totally set in his way but even in the middle of everything he still could crack a joke. Rae was completely whiney, I also felt the reason for leaving took forever to “figure” out. I did like Hope and Abby they were amazing friends. I really felt like this book played off more as high schoolers then adults in their 30’s. There is a Second story in the end which was super cute. I liked Conner in the first story so I was glad to be able to read his story.  I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Former bad boy and current fiddle player Deacon Latrell has the world at his fingertips: a new gig with a famous band, plus his best friend on tour as his son’s nanny. Life couldn’t get much sweeter. Now if only he could stop imagining kissing the daylights out of his childhood BFF…

With one friend set on pushing the boundaries and the other afraid to rock the boat, one thing’s for certain—their story would make one heck of a country song. Each book in the Country Blues series is a standalone story that can be enjoyed out of order.Series Order:Book #1: You’re Still the OneBook #2: The Nanny Arrangement

My thoughts on the book:

When I first started this book I really was not a fan I felt like the first few chapters read like a journal entry and came off a little to “wordy”. However once Hannah and Deacon met up with the band the whole thing changed and it got good. I liked Hannah she was a sweet spirit so unsure of herself but ready to step out of her comfort zone and take on the world. Deacon was some one you wanted to love to hate, he has a broken spirit but he wanted to do what was best for his son and would stop at nothing to make that happen. I loved Arabelle and Sherry they are the best kind of cheerleaders a girl can ask for. I did not read book one but I will say I hope to find out what happens with the other band members. Over all this book was a really fun read and I can’t wait for more. For those who are content sensitive: this book contains non-graphic scenes and descriptions of sexual content. I received a complimentary copy of this book.  Description:

He never thought he’d have a real family Christmas…

For the past eight years, Bill Smith has been unable to set down roots. But he never forgot the magical night he spent with an auburn-haired beauty in Last Stand, Texas. When she finally tracked him down, he was more than happy to donate a kidney to AJ, the son he never knew he had. But now that AJ is better, Bill wants more time with him and his mother. He wants a family.

Annie Burleson can’t help but be grateful to this almost-stranger for saving AJ’s life. Still, she’s a little wary. AJ has already been through so much—what if Bill leaves again? And with Christmas in full swing, it’s difficult to discern which emotions are festive and which are forever.

As Annie and Bill’s lives collide, their mutual love for AJ makes this more than a marriage of convenience. But is it enough to give them the family Christmas they all deserve?

My thoughts on the book:

This story was super cute and I liked AJ he was super cute. I had not read the first book in this series but Jade and Cash from book one do make an appearance in this book and you can catch up with them. Bill has a huge heart but also stand offish since he has been through so much in his life. Annie also was standoffish but at some points in the book she came off very immature. The story was very predictable over all so no big surprises. There is sex in this book and may not be suitable for all, over all this book is a quick read and a cute story. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

My thoughts on the book:

I love this authors books she always knocks in out of the park. With this new series I was so excited for book two and Im glad I got the chance to read it. It was amazing it was action packed for sure. There seem to be a lot of moving parts to this book which makes it seem like a lot is going on at first but in the end the puzzle pieces fall into place and it all makes sense in the end. I liked that the author kept it a clean read and that literally keeps you guess up until the end. I can’t wait to see where the author takes the team next.  I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.

.My thoughts on the book:

I thought this was a really cute story, it will totally put you in the mood for the holidays that’s for sure. With everything that’s going on in the world right now this book was like a breathe of fresh air for sure. I loved Teddy omg what a huge personality that just shined off the pages and it was really hard not to just fall in love with him, Christmas through the eyes of a child. I loved Mallory she was a saint and just kept fighting for what she believed in. I really was not a huge fan of Gabriel he just was a bit of a jerk to me and I felt like Mallory just deserved better. There is talk of adult situations but never detailed. Overall this was a fun read and I could not put it down. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Part of the Pelican Harbor series

Book One: One Little LieBook

Two: Two Reasons to RunBook

Three: Three Missing Days (available April 2021)

My thoughts on the book:

I did not read the first book in the series, while I feel like I missed something and plan on reading it next the author did catch a reader up to date in this book. I could not put the book down the author keeps you on the edge of your seat from page one, when you think you know who did it, the author those a twist and takes you down a whole other path. I loved Will he was a strong headed kid with a big heart. Jane has a broken spirit but when it comes to Will she will stop at nothing to protect him, even if that means setting aside her feelings for Reid. I did not like the end of the book because it leaves you hanging and I want to know what happens. Otherwise this book was amazing and is a clean read. Grab this book you will not regret it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

My thoughts on the book:

This book was so captivating I really enjoyed this book the author has a way of drawing you in from page one and keeping you there till the very end. I loved Kiley she jumped in with both feet and would stop at nothing or let nothing stop her from finding the truth. Evan he was more in your face, but but he also sought the truth and would stop at nothing to find it even f it meant he had to come face to face with the past that he was ready to let go of a long time ago I really enjoyed reading this book and this group of characters and I really can’t wait to see where the author goes next. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Paradise Cove Jenny Holiday

Description:

Dr. Nora Walsh has just been dumped in spectacular fashion, making it the perfect time for a major life change. She figures taking over the medical practice in tiny Matchmaker Bay for a couple of years will help her get over her broken heart, and then she can head back to the big city. But when the first man she sees looks like a superhero god, she wonders if maybe there’s something to small-town living after all. Jake Ramsey also has a broken heart — one he never expects to heal. He doesn’t need people anyway and is content hiding out in his secluded cottage on the beach. But after helping Nora with a medical emergency, he finds himself opening up to the witty, warmhearted doctor. Soon the local matchmakers are working overtime to pair them off, and Jake begins to wonder if his campaign to get Nora to stay is for the town or because he can’t bear the thought of her leaving.

My thoughts on the book:

I mean who doesn’t like a life reset after a terrible break up, thats exactly what Nora was doing with moving even if it was only temporary. I liked Nora she was feisty, independent and ready to take on the town of Moonflower bay. I really like Dr. Walsh SR I could see what a pistol she was and where Nora and her sister got it. I had a love hate relationship with Jake, I like him sometime and the stuff he faced was very deep and I could relate, but then he would do something and he came off as annoying and I was ready to just punch him. Oh my Kerri even her part was small but oh my the author had a way of Kerri getting right into your heart as well. I loved the closeness of the community and the friends and how they would do just about anything for each other. I did feel like there were a few parts of the book that did drag which was hard but over all the story was good and a twist on a love story. There is sex in this story so may not be suitable for all. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

The Crushing Depths Dani Pettrey

Description:

When an accident claims the life of an oil-rig worker on the first drilling platform off the North Carolina coast, Coast Guard investigators Rissi Dawson and Mason Rogers are sent to take the case. Tensions surrounding the oil rig are high and the death has everyone on edge. Environmental activists are threatening to do whatever it takes to stop the structure from being completed, while rumors are being whispered about ancient curses surrounding this part of the ocean.

Mounting evidence shows the death may not have been an accident at all. Was he killed by one of the activists or, perhaps more frighteningly, a member of his own crew? Rissi and Mason have to sort through not only a plethora of suspects, but also their own past and attraction to each other.

Just as the case seems like it’ll break open, worse news arrives. A tropical storm has turned their way and soon they’re cut off from any rescue–and right where the killer wants them. It’s a race to discover his identity before he eliminates the threat they pose.

My thoughts on the book:

I was so happy when I found out this book was coming out I could not wait to catch up with the CGI Team and the author did not disappoint. I could not put this book down, it will have you on the edge of your seat from page one. I really liked Rissi and Mason’s story and I love that they just worked, the chemistry between them did not seemed forced but very natural. As in like book one the author has a few main characters not just 2 or three, but each character plays a huge part in the story and without them the story would not be what it was, also that being said it was not that hard to follow either. I so hope we will get to read more about Em and Logan in the future. This book was a good clean read. This book will not disappoint in any way. If you love a good suspense grab this series. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion
