The Last Real Cowboy Caitlin Crews

Description:

USA Today bestselling author Caitlin Crews returns to the Cold River Ranch series with The Last Real Cowboy!

In Cold River, sometimes forbidden love is the sweetest of them all…

Perennial good girl Amanda Kittredge knows that her longtime crush on Brady Everett was never really supposed to go anywhere. But when Brady comes home during Amanda’s first attempt at independence, well, who better to teach her about rebellion than her older brother’s bad-boy best friend?

Brady’s plans did not include being forced to work the family homestead for a year—and yet, here he is. And, to make matters worse, his best friend’s innocent little sister is making a menace of herself in the most grown-up, tempting ways. When Amanda begs Brady to teach her about men, he knows he should refuse. But could Brady’s greatest temptation be his salvation?

“Loaded with charming characters [and] wit….will win the heart of any romance fan.”—Publishers Weekly (starred review) on A True Cowboy Christmas

My thoughts on the book:

I liked the story over all it was cute but I felt like both Amanda and Brady whined a lot yet both wanted to be seen as adults. Eventually Amanda grew some balls and was a total spit fire no one wanted to mess with. Brady’s family could describe every dysfunctional family out there perfectly. They all are healing and looking to find where they fit after their dad died and there was no love loss there. I think both Amanda and Brady’s brothers could be one in the same all protective and a pain in the read end. The sexual tension though out was not lacking at all, there is sex in this book so may not be suitable for all readers. Cute story over all but does also seem to drag here and there. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Once Upon a Cowboy Christmas Soraya Lane

Description:

Billionaires, cowboys, and romance collide during the holidays in this next book in the River Ranch series!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year at the Ford family ranch. Will one cowboy’s homecoming be the greatest gift of all?

He left town and never looked back.
Cody Ford is a Wall Street honcho with humble Texas roots. This holiday season, he’d be content to just stay in New York and not face his family—and dodge their questions about when and with whom he plans to settle down. . .and if he will do so back at home. But his father isn’t getting any younger, and Cody doesn’t want to miss any last chances to see him and the rest of the folks back on the ranch. The last person Cody was expecting to see? His one-time girlfriend, Lexi Murphy, who’s been working as his dad’s new live-in nurse.

She never forgot him. Can she ever forgive him?
Lexi still holds a grudge against Cody. Back then, the college-bound heartthrob believed he was too good for a small-town girl like Lexi. But now Cody can’t help but see her in a whole new light. Could it be that this beautiful single mother with an unbeatable can-do spirit is the one he’s been waiting for all along? That depends on whether Cody can prove to Lexi that, this time, he means business—and if a sudden snowstorm can lend just the right amount of Christmas magic to help move things along. . .

My thoughts on the book:

I will start off saying I did not read any of the other books in this series so I am not sure of the background of these characters. I will say I was not a fan of this book is was so completely predictable and I found the main characters annoying and whinny. I can honestly say the few characters I did like was Mia, Harry, and Walter. Mia was this spitfire mama who stood up for all those she loved and cared for. Walter was the patriarch of the family and he’s fighting cancer but he also played a huge roll in this book. This book did have some good moments in it. Also there is sex and a good fair amount of cussing in this book so this may not be suitable for all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. The Rancher’s Proposal Paula Altenburg

Description:

She said she’d never rely on a man again…

Never say never. When meek and mild Posey Davies calls it quits on her toxic marriage, she grabs her two-year-old daughter and runs. Her flight lands her in Grand, Montana, a community happy to take her in and even happier to nose about in her life and her unfortunate past.

The cowboy next door, Zack McGregor, has “good time,” written all over him. He’s only home for a year to help out his older brother, who’s guardian of their sister’s children. Zack is kind, funny and oh-so-easy on the eyes. He’d be perfect, but the practical Posey predicts Zac will disappear as soon as winter sets in.

Zack’s not as laid back and fun loving as he seems. He’s all about family and doing what’s right. When Posey’s deadbeat ex-husband begins making demands, Zack insists on playing protector.

Posey’s never had anyone stand up for her before and soon realizes that perhaps relying on this man and trusting in love is well worth the risk.

My thoughts on the book:

This is the first book by this author that I have read and I really enjoyed it. The author draws you in and keeps your attention throughout the book. I really enjoyed Posey and how she was a strong women but also how she had a very vulnerable side to her as well. I loved Eleanor she hands down was one of my favorite characters. I also liked Zack he totally wore his heart on his sleeves and you never had to wonder what he was thinking or his intentions. There is a few curses words and does have some sex scenes so this may not be suitable for everyone. Overall I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more from these fun characters. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

But when her first patient turns out to be her first-crush-turned-nemesis Colton Walker, Sara starts wondering if home really is where the heart is….

My thoughts on the book:

Story 1:The town comes together to help one person in need every year no matter what the person faces they will help. We need more of this in our world. I loved the community as a whole in this book. Alex was on this journey to solve a cold case so it add a mystery to the story which was fun. However I did find the story quite predictable, I wish there would have been a little more keeps you guessing going on in the story. The story over all was a good clean read and was a quick read for sure. I loved Grandma Baker hands down one of my favorite characters she has a way of speaking her mind in the most loving way and still getting her point access. I would say over all this book was worth the read and puts you in the Christmas spirit.

Story 2:

I loved this book, I loved how nothing was held back. This is such a sweet love story. I can relate to Sara as having a family member who has dementia, that being said even if that’s not the case the characters were so down to earth and I really felt like I could relate with any of them.  I loved how the author had a way of getting to the heart and also had fun moments throughout. I loved Carmen she was just the constant icebreaker throughout and you truly never knew what was coming out of her mouth. This book does have some adult language/scenes but was a super fun read. I truly loved this book and I am not sure if this will become part of a series but if it does I can’t wait for more. You really can’t go wrong with this amazing love story.I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley, I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.

Cold Aim Janice Cantore

Description:

Police Chief Tess O’Rourke’s small town is still reeling from a devastating fire when the FBI asks for help: Could she shelter a witness in a high-profile human trafficking case? Initially reluctant to put the townspeople of Rogue’s Hollow at risk, Tess is swayed after she sees Pastor Oliver Macpherson’s genuine conviction to rescue those in need, a trait in him she’s coming to love more each day.

Tess’s fledgling faith is tested when crews of workmen from out of town come in to assist with the fire cleanup and she worries that one of these strangers might shine a light on things best kept hidden. Neither she nor Oliver knows that Rogue’s Hollow is already home to a suspect from a twenty-five-year-old murder case . . . and someone is taking cold aim at those Tess is sworn to protect.

My thoughts on the book:

Oh my gosh, this book was amazing. The author has you on the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end, and will keep you guessing just as long. I really liked this book, I had a hard time putting it down. I like Tess she’s a stubborn, hard headed, independent person who will stop at nothing to protect those in her town and those she loves. I Loved Livie she was so amazing a strong too. I think so many books now a days make the men the hero, but I would have to say there were a lot of female heroes in this story. I felt like I was not reading fiction, but non-fiction in a sense. There were so very tough subjects in this story but things that are very much happening in every day life. I really had nothing bad to say about this book and I can’t wait to read more from this author. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Maybe it’s finally time for them to walk off into the sunset and into a true and lasting love?

The Sometimes in Love series is:

“Playful, passionate, and positively unputdownable!”
—New York Times bestselling author Christina Lauren

“Witty, sexy…Melonie Johnson is an addictive new voice in contemporary romance.” —New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julie Ann Walker

My thoughts on the book:

So the best friends are back and now it’s Sadie’s turn. The book starts off full of action and draws you in. However later in the story (May be a spoil alert) but there is one part in the middle of the story where the main characters are in the middle of an argument and then ban they are making a deal to have sex, like wait what just happened how stupid seriously. What happened with the rest of the argument. Overall I was not a fan of this story Bo was kind of demanding and he talked a lot out the side of his mouth. Sadie just seem to not know what she wanted. Ana now that girl she was a pistol and was one of my favorites in this story. This book has a lot of cursing and sex so if that’s not you then this book is not for you. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Description:

Vibrant historic Yellowstone National Park comes to life in this romantic mystery about a man hiding the truth, braving the west to become something more–and the woman who must confront his deception.

A man who can’t read will never amount to anything–or so Nate Webber believes. But he takes a chance to help his family by signing up for the new Civilian Conservation Corps, skirting the truth about certain “requirements.” Nate exchanges the harsh Brooklyn streets for the wilds of Yellowstone National Park, curious if the Eden-like wonderland can transform him as well.
Elsie Brookes was proud to grow up as a ranger’s daughter, but she longs for a future of her own. After four years serving as a maid in the park’s hotels, she still hasn’t saved enough money for her college tuition. A second job, teaching a crowd of rowdy men in the CCC camp, might be the answer, but when Elsie discovers Nate’s secret, it puts his job as camp foreman in jeopardy. Tutoring leads to friendship and romance, until a string of suspicious fires casts a dark shadow over their relationship. Can they find answers before all of their dreams go up in smoke?

My thoughts on the book:

I don’t typically like historical books the language always throws me. However this book was not that way at all sometimes I would even forget I was reading a story from the 1930’s. This book was a super fun read I actually really liked it a lot. I was not a fan of Ranger Vaughn, not sure if the authors intent was to like him or dislike him, but for me he just rubbed me the wrong way all the way around. With Elsie and Nate both facing something in their past and having to over come it was interesting to see how they handled themselves. Oh my goodness in the end of the story, there is a twist and it’s not what you thought, through the whole book. I really genuinely like this book and this group of characters all but one of course. I liked that this book was a good clean read and perfect for all ages, while keeping you drawn into the story the whole time wondering what was going to happen next. This book is a good clean read and suitable for all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

“A beautiful story of forgiveness and second chances.” -Shelley Shepard Gray, New York Timesbestselling author, on The Amish Teacher’s Gift

My thoughts on the book:

This book was a fun read, I seem to fly through it the craziness and the fun in the book was easy read an quickly draws you in. I felt with Elijah the more he helps Grace the more he seems to be finding who he is and allowing his heart to heal from past hurts. Miriam from The Amish Midwife’s Secret made her appearance in this book, I felt like she was more of a sister to Grace then Grace’s niece. I loved the relationship they have. Grace truly loves those close to her and has a way of making them feel loved and wanted in her life no matter what they have done or faced. I really liked how no matter what happened in any of the characters lives the first and foremost was to turn to God for answers. This book is a good clean read and I really liked that its suitable for all ages. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Will she stay in Lancaster, close to her family and the traditions of her past? Or learn from her grandfather’s story and embrace a life of love and service in an uncertain future?

My thoughts on the book:

I really loved Aenti Suz hands down she was my favorite character in the book. I would say this book is geared toward young adults. I would say the characters still had a lot of learning to do and the author used the situations through out the book mature them for sure. I really enjoyed the story of LT. Shaw and Joe, when the story would move away from them the author had away of keeping your attention and leave you wanting more to find out what was going to happen next. While I did find Leisel a little immature some times I also found that what she was facing was forcing her to grow up and evaluate her life and her choice. This book is from a first person point of view Over all this book is a good clean read and suitable for all ages. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
