Once Upon a Summer Night Kyra Jacobs

Description:

Home is a refuge—but is it always the right choice?

Hannah Brooks left home eight summers ago to help her friend Beth hide a surprise pregnancy. Their unplanned adventure also helped her escape from beneath her fire chief father’s thumb. Now Beth has died and Hannah faces a brewing custody battle for Noah, the boy she helped raise from birth. It’s time to return to Bourbon Falls and make amends with the family she loves and needs.

Chase Redding finally gave up hope of ever seeing Hannah again, and is focused on being part owner of Oak Barrel Farms and climbing the ranks in his firefighting career. But now that she’s back, he’ll do anything to convince her to stay in their hometown, even if it means sharing his beloved fire station.

But amid their budding romance at Brooks Farm, family tensions resurface and the custody suit takes a turn for the worst. It’s going to take a little summertime magic to keep Hannah and Chase’s happily ever after from slipping away a second time.

My Review:

I haven’t read anything else in the series so I not sure what characters in this book may be in the others, that being said it wasn’t hard to follow that characters in the book. I Like Chase he was a no nonsense kind of guy. He faced some things in life and he just seem to take everything on the chin and just let it all flow off his back. He just seemed super laid back and just overall was really fun character to read about.  Hannah at first was a fun read as well but I found sometimes that she came off like a martyr and just woah is me. I loved Aunt Faye she just was so sweet and so loving she truly won me over and she just felt like someone special to so many people. Overall I really did enjoy this read and had a hard time putting it down. There is sexual content so this may not be suitable for all.

Serial Burn Lynette Eason

Description:

She’s out for justice. But the arsonist she’s tracking is out for retribution.

Now the fire marshal of Lake City, Jesslyn McCormick is determined to find the person who started the fire that robbed her of her family when she was just seven years old. As the twentieth anniversary of the tragedy approaches, a string of fires–including at Jesslyn’s church–brings up all those old feelings and offers new evidence.

Because church fires are considered a hate crime, FBI Special Agent Nathan Carlisle is called in to work with local law enforcement. Nathan has his own past–one he’d prefer not to revisit. And focusing on helping Jesslyn track down the arsonist is a great distraction.

As both the case and the chemistry between Jesslyn and Nathan heat up, memories will come flooding in from the past to bump up against hopes for the future. And when Jesslyn comes face-to-face with her worst nightmare, she’ll have to confront her fears and rely on Nathan and her community of friends in order to survive.

My Review:

I really could not put this book down. This book did not disappoint at all and the whole book I sweat I thought I had it all figured out it could only be the person I guessed right, Wrong. The author keeps you guessing and then when we finally revels I am like no way I did not see that coming!!! I liked how the author did not finish the book on a cliff hanger or leave you trying to figure out what happens :”next”. I really like Jesslyn and her friends they all had each others backs and when one was faced with something everyone would rally around and help out anyway they can. I liked Nathan he really faced some really tough situations and he didn’t let that hold him back trying to help those out and trying to heal. There was a situation between Nathan and his brother Eli, while I have see other authors try and approach this subject lightly this author took it head and did not sugar coat it. Its something people deal with all the time and it was nice to see her address it from a christian aspect with out a whole lot of judgement coming off the pages. Overall I would recommend this book to just about any one there are tough topics but it will keep you on the edge of your seat and its well worth the read.

My Review:

This book was so relatable making it a little tough to read, however it was a really good book. I really liked Allie she was so standoffish in the beginning I really wasn’t sure what I was going to think but to what her grown and become someone amazing was so fun. Dakota he did not hold back and I loved how his friend on the fire crew put him in his place a time or too as well. I really like Ethan and Nolan those boys saw a lot but were fighters and would not stop at anything to protect their mom. I really hope to learn more about there story and hope this was not the end. Overall this book is a must read and was so worth the read.

Description:

When the spunky beauty, who unexpectedly kissed him, moves in full of ideas, he can’t help being intrigued– that is until she starts changing things behind his back, endangering his position and the relationship with his father.

Sam and Luna wrangle over rules and misunderstandings while fighting against the undeniable attraction between them. It’s a hard lesson to learn that ‘perfect’ can take many different forms. But will the renovations they do together lay a foundation to something more?

My Review:

This story was cute. I had not read anything else in this series but feel like it could be one of those stand alone books as well. I really found that Luna came off as a snob and a Miss no it all who could do no wrong. I found that she really just was so mean to those in her life and chalked it up to be “brutally Honest” person. I really liked Mia and Ross they were so sweet and had such and loving kindness to those in there lives. Sam was one of this don’t judge a book by the cover because what you see is not what they are. He was a bit mysterious at first but as the book went on his true colors came out. I felt that he put up with a lot from Luna and his parents but he also loved deeply and only wanted the best for those in his life. There is sexual content in the book so it may not be suitable for all. overall it was an ok read.

A Summer Changes Everything Isabelle Grace

Description:

When his wife died, Reese was sure he’d never love again… until that one summer.

Elementary school teacher Shelby Corbett is no pushover. Just ask anyone who has seen how easily she handles a classroom full of boisterous kids. So spending the summer break looking after Reese’s two energetic boys is totally within her wheelhouse.

Which shocks Reese completely.

That’s only the first surprise, though. The second is the undeniable attraction that sparks between them. An attraction that’s totally unexpected but becomes increasingly difficult to ignore. As she helps Reese reconnect with his boys, Shelby shines a light into his dark and lonely world, bringing hope to his broken and grieving heart.

Hope that Reese fears will be lost again when Shelby’s six-week stay at Lone Oaks is over.

Unless he’s willing to risk everything by asking her to stay.

Previously published by the author as Reese’s Long Hot Summer.

My Review:

This book is cute! I really loved Shelby she came into a situation and owned it like she had been there and doing it for her whole life. She was so sweet and had the biggest heart, so independent and ready to take on anything life threw at her. I liked Reese and his boys the little boys Adam and Zach were such pistols and were so fun to read the author did an amazing job with these boys jumping off the pages and had you laughing out loud with their antics. Reese was trying to find himself while he took a little to grow on me I also felt he was a good guy who only wanted what was best for his boys. I feel like if I had to sum up this book with two words is would be finding forgiveness and healing. Overall this was a fun book to read. This book does contain sexual content so may not be suitable for all readers.

Description:

An Italian romance is on the menu, but is she ready to order?

Content creator Rory Hibbert knows Valentine’s Day is only fun for couples and chocolatiers. For singles like her, it’s a day of disappointment. And that’s why her new marketing agency client has arranged a tour of Italy crammed full of activities to distract from the holiday. This trip is a test for Rory—if it goes well, it will jump-start her new social media career.

There’s just one snag: the ex she never got over is also on staff.

Huck Cranshaw walked away from the love of his life for a huge opportunity on a cooking competition show. At least, that’s the excuse he gave Rory at the time—and he’s regretted it for five years. Cooking for tourists was supposed to be a stopgap between restaurant positions. Now it could be much, much more: a chance to fix the past.

But when an Italian prince catches sight of Rory, Huck’s not the only one vying for her heart this time. Can Cupid still steal Rory’s heart when the truth finally comes out?

Each book in the Holiday Hearts series is standalone:

*The Magic of Christmas

*The Christmas Project

*Escaping Valentine’s Day

My Review:

So I did not read any of there other books in the series, but I will say this that if they are just as good as this one, I can’t wait to read those. I loved Rowan she was the best kind of friend any one could ask for, she was so supportive and just all around wanted what was best for Rory. I really liked the widows so fun and so much wisdom from them. I liked Huck and Roy even though sometimes their actions came over immature, they truly seemed they wanted what was best for the other. Huck also had some really amazing friends they felt more like his siblings the way they bantered back and forth. Overall this book was a fun read and worth it. The author kept the book clean which makes it readable for most/all readers.

Each book in the Blue Moon Bay series is STANDALONE:
* A Lot Like Love
* A Lot Like Christmas
* A Lot Like Forever

My Review:

I was really torn with this book, I will say that I did like it. Let me explain though I am one of those people who will judge a book by its cover and don’t ever read the back. So Going in I wasn’t sure what to expect, the story started off super strong and I was on board until about half way through. I liked Trent a lot he seemed like a really good guy with the biggest heart but it also seemed not matter what he did as far as in his life it seemed he was always on pins and needles with Whitney just waiting for the “ball to drop”. Whitney came off like a strong female at first but then came off as whiny almost annoying. I felt like she spent more time pushing away those who loved her. I really loved the relationship with the four friends they were “ride or die” they would drop anything and help each other out. I wish the world had more friendships like that. Overall the story was a fun read, it does have adult content so it may not be suitable for all readers.

“This action-packed thriller is sure to please.”–
IRENE HANNON, bestselling and award-winning author

“I love Dani’s writing, and The Deadly Shallows is one of her best! Tightly written and dripping with tension. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough.”–CARRIE STUART PARKS, bestselling and award-winning author of Relative Silence

My Review:

I could not put this book down, from the first page to the last. This author has a way of putting you on the edge of your seat and makes you feel like you are right in the middle of the madness. I really liked Brooke she was such a fighter and loved wholeheartedly. Noah was a protector of anyone who he truly cared about. The book did keep me guessing for the first part of the book until everything started playing out, but even with all the piecing together the author kept you guessing to what was going to happen next. This book is amazing and I can not stop recommending this book.

Love Out Loud Marissa Clarke

Description:

A deliciously fun, flirty rom-com where love doesn’t happen by opening a door…it happens when you get stuck in one.

Veterinarian Fiona Nichols does not do well in stressful social situations. A little babble here, saying the absolutely wrong thing there. But that doesn’t stop Fiona from checking out the delectably hot guy in her building…from afar. Fate apparently has a nasty sense of humor, though.

Somehow Fiona gets herself and Hot Guy stuck in the building’s revolving door—all thanks to a certain squeaky dog toy…that unfortunately looks decidedly, uh, penile.

Must be time to meet the neighbors.

Turns out that Jake Ward is Fiona’s new public-speaking coach. A hot extrovert who always knows what to say. Fiona should hate the man on sight. Instead, she’s only finding him more attractive. And now she’s finally getting out of her comfort zone…only to get in over her head.

My Review:

 This book was so cute I really liked Fiona and Jake. At first I was not a fan of Jake I felt like he came off as a bit of a know it all who thought his poo did not stink. I found Fiona one of those relatable characters I think in life we can all have a fear of something and it can be overwhelming but we fight through and tackle life. I really loved all the puppies this in book so much personality with the jumping from the pages. Fiona had such an amazing group of friends it felt like they all were more like sisters. I have not read any other books in the series but this was so cute and fun I am sure those were just as equally fun to read. This book does have adult content and may not be suitable for all readers. Overall this book was worth the read and I would recommend it get read for some laughs for sure.

Now Ann’s in huge trouble…and the only person who can help her is the adorkable guy who completely humiliated her back in high school.

Lawyer Eric Maxwell has been in love with Ann as long as he can remember. He was waaaay too nerdy to win a beautiful girl like her. But when Ann lands in serious hot chocolate, he offers to give her free legal services…if she’ll help him go from nerd-without-a-clue to bona fide bad boy.

And once the transition is complete, he’ll have everything he needs to prove that he’s the guy for her…

Each book in the Stealing the Heart series is STANDALONE:
* Stealing the Groom
* Resisting Her Rival
* Stealing the Bachelor

My Review:

This is a new to me author so I did not read the other book in the series. However this book was really cute. While Ann had her guard up most of the book but she also showed her softer side as well. I liked all the sisters and there husbands they lost a lot but they also made a family and had each other for the tough times. Eric has a way of wanting to always come to the rescue of those he cares about but I felt in someways he come off as an enabler instead of helping his loved ones out. I liked him and I liked how the author made him more relatable then making him this knight and shining armor guy riding in to save the day and untouchable. I loved Noah and his antics with the sisters. Overall this book was a cute read an I would read it again.
