You Belong with Me Tari Faris

Description:

Realtor Hannah Thornton has many talents. Unfortunately, selling houses in the town where her family name is practically poison isn’t one of them. When a business tycoon determines to raze historic homes in the small town of Heritage, Michigan, and replace them with a strip mall, Hannah resolves to stop him. She sets about helping Heritage win a restoration grant that will put the town back on the map–and hopefully finally repay the financial debt Hannah’s mother caused the town. But at first no one supports her efforts–not even her best friend, Luke.

Luke Johnson may have grown up in Heritage, but as a foster kid he never truly felt as if he belonged. Now he has a chance to score a job as assistant fire chief and earn his place in the town. But when the interview process and Hannah’s restoration project start unearthing things from his past, Luke must decide if belonging is worth the pain of being honest about who he is–and who he was.

My thoughts on the book:

This author is new to me, I did like the storyline over all, I liked how the small town feel and how no matter what everyone seem to be there right when you needed them.  I was not a fan of how I felt like there author wrote two stories into one, I wish she would have either wrote all of Hannah and Luke’s story or she would have written all of Thomas and Janie’s story. I also was not a fan how a good portion of the story seemed like you were dealing with high schoolers not adults, that does change but not till later in the story. I did enjoy that this book was a good clean read and would be suitable for all. Over all the book was not bad just had a hard time getting into it at first. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Thrown together by the heinous crime, Finn and Gabby can’t ignore the sparks or judgments flying between them. But will they be able to see past their preconceptions long enough to track down an elusive killer, or will they become his next mark?

My thoughts on the book:

I loved this story so much. This book has you on the edge of your seat for sure. The author has a few main characters not just 2 or three, but they all play a huge part in the story and without them the story would not be what it was, also that being said it was not that hard to follow either. This book is a murder mystery and you won’t want to put it down. This is a good clean read and well worth it. I can’t wait to read Rissa story, oh man I can only imagine what’s going on there. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

A Cowboy’s Salvation Megan Ryder

Description:

He wanted to be left in peace…

West Morgan knows all about second chances. After bouncing from foster home to foster home, he finally landed at the Rawlings Ranch as a teenager. There he found a home, something he’d never thought possible. Now an adult, he realizes he’s been given much more: a family and, most importantly, peace. But when his mentor dies and leaves the property divided among his foster brothers and his mentor’s daughter, Tara Rawlings, the fragile future he’s built for himself is threatened.

She wanted to be free of her past…

Tara Rawlings swore she’d never end up with someone like her father, a man completely focused on the ranch to the exclusion of his loved ones. She created a new life for herself in San Francisco, running an interior design company and getting married, then divorced. When she returns to settle her father’s estate, she finds that her birthright is in jeopardy. And the only way to save it is to work with West Morgan, the one man she has always resented—and always found irresistible.

Can they save the ranch without killing each other … or falling in love?

My thoughts on the book:

Tara is forced to come home and face the demons of her past and present. I liked that she had this strong head on her and she really seems to take everything in stride. I was however not a huge fan of West I kind of had a love/hate relationship with him. I did like Ty and Chase they always seem to be your typical little brothers who like to pick on the older one. The story did get to me emotionally because with everything Tara faced my heart just broke for her. There is some cursing and sex in this book so may not be suitable for all readers. Over all I enjoyed reading about these fun characters. I hope that Ty and Chase find their happily ever afters.  I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Andrew Jennifer Beckstrand

Description:

Andrew, Abraham, and Austin Petersheim’s family business has earned them the nickname The Peanut Butter Brothers. But if their matchmaking younger siblings have their way, all three may soon bear another title: husband . . .

Handsome, hardworking, and godly, Andrew Petersheim has always been sure of his place in his Wisconsin Amish community. He’ll be a welcome catch for the local girl who finally captures his heart. Mary Coblenz certainly isn’t that girl. Two years after “jumping the fence” for the Englischer world, she’s returned, unmarried and pregnant. Yet instead of hiding in shame as others in the community expect, she’s working at the Honeybee Farm, ignoring the gossips—and winning over Andrew’s eight-year-old twin brothers . . .

For all Andrew’s certainty about right and wrong, it seems he has a lot to learn from Mary’s courage, grace, and resilience. She’s changing his notions about forgiveness and love, but will she in turn accept the challenge of starting over and choose to stay—with him?

My thoughts on the book:

I loved Alfi, Bitzy, and Benji, they hand down were my favorite characters they added a element to the story. This story has your emotions all over the place for sure. The author has you laughing, crying and wanting to punch someone all in the same chapter. I love how strong and stubborn Mary was she had a way of just shining off the pages. Andrew is one I had a love/hate relationship with some moments I wanted to hate him and then he would do something and I would love. I really loved how the author did not try and make the Amish these perfect people that some authors do, because of that the story makes it feel like I’m catching up with friends instead of fictional people. I really liked everything about this book. I loved that it was a good clean read and perfect for all, and that you find yourself not wanting to put it down. I hope there is more to come with this fun family, I really can’t imagine what the twins will cook up next. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Description:

But since her fiance and the father of her daughters walked out on her, taking all their savings with him, she’s forced to be practical. So she vows to ignore the attraction that hums between her and Lam and to stop dreaming of becoming a chef. But when Lam suggests she audition for a cooking competition, Gwen realizes that not all her dreams are out of reach, and her growing hopes extend far beyond a professionally tricked-out kitchen.

My thoughts on the book:

This was a really quick read and a super fun read. I really had fun with reading about Gwen’s little girls in this book. Even though they are twins they have such huge personalities and very different. I feel kids have a way of making or breaking a book and in this case they really made the this book by adding so much fun. I really enjoyed the relationships between Lam and his siblings. my heart broke for Lam and all his loss but I like how the author made him in a place a healing for almost the whole book. This book was a fun read, it does have adult language and situations in it. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Camden Grayson loves her challenging career, but the rest of her life could use some improvement. “Moving on” is Cam’s mantra. But there’s a difference, her two sisters insist, between one who moves on . . . and one who keeps moving.

To Cam’s surprise, the slow pace of island life appeals to her, along with the locals–and one in particular. Seth Walker, the scruffy island schoolteacher harbors more than a few surprises.

With On a Summer Tide, bestselling author Suzanne Woods Fisher begins a brand-new contemporary romance series that is sure to delight her fans and draw new ones.

My thoughts on the book:

If you are familiar with this author’s book’s, this book is not an amish book. For the first few chapters I thought for sure the author was going to try and tell all three sisters stories in one book, after about the 2nd chapter I realized the book was mainly about Cam and her story with check-ins from her sisters. I found that Cam was high strung and all about just “getting” things done. I did like how she was blunt and to the point and you never had to wonder where you stood with her. I wasn’t sure if as a reader we would find out how Libby Lost her life but that does get told later in the story and it totally broke my heart.  I really enjoyed the Island and I really loved Peg she was one of my favorite in the story over all. This book was a good clean read and suitable for all.  I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

A Dash of Love Jill Sanders

Head back to Pride Oregon to find out what some of your favorite Jill Sanders’ characters are up to.

But the sexy know-it-all carpenter that her uncle hired to make some changes, keeps getting in her way. She’ll have to use all her skills just to prove that she’s up to the task.

Parker was hired to bring new life to the old building, but he hadn’t expected sparks to fly from the owner’s niece. As a series of mysterious accidents start to plague the job site, he finds himself working one-on-one with the temptress to avoid losing everything.

My thoughts on the book:

When you have lost everything why not start over, in Pride OR where they take pride in all the do. This book was so fun I thought this book was going to be just your traditional love story only to have the author to add some suspense to it. What I liked about this suspense book it was built up the author didn’t just through it out all at once. I love how with Sara’s family it was just that all about family and town pride and all about being there for each other no matter what. I love how they included others in to make them “family” too. I felt like I was catching up with friends truly, this book is not a group of perfect people but a group of imperfect people who loved each other. There is some adult language, This book to was a quick read and oh so good.

Getting Hot with the Scot Melonie Johnson

Description:

IT’S TIME TO FLIRT WITH A MAN IN A KILT

Cassie Crow, a pop-culture reporter for a TV talk show, is focused on becoming a “serious” journalist. But when she stumbles into a kilted Highlander with a killer accent, Cassie decides that taking one night off from work and spending it with a sexy Scot couldn’t hurt. . .

Logan Reid has built a career on his charm, hosting a series of off-the-wall hijinks on the Web. But when the Scottish prankster meets the all-American, equal parts intelligent and irresistible Cassie, Logan realizes that one night of fun won’t be enough. Could it be that this career-focused, commitment-phobic couple is finally ready to take a chance at true and lasting love?

My thoughts on the book:

Five friends go on a dream vacation and Cassie is looking for a hot guy to fulfill her other dream, hot sex. When she stumbles into the wrong room in a castle they are touring it seems she may have taken a step back in time. I was not a real fan of this book I found Logan completely immature through 90% of the book, I found him board line annoying. I like Cassie and her friends but I also found her some what immature. I thought they were in there twenties, but they acted like they were just out of high school with there antics. Towards the end of the book it did feel like they did grow up some however it seemed a little to late for me. There is a lot of sex but not a lot a chemistry. I did not find this book was for me. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Never Let Go Elizabeth Goddard- Uncommon Justice #1

Description:

As a forensic genealogist, Willow Anderson is following in her late grandfather’s footsteps in her quest for answers about a baby abducted from the hospital more than twenty years ago. The case may be cold, but things are about to heat up when someone makes an attempt on her life to keep her from discovering the truth.

Ex-FBI agent–and Willow’s ex-flame–Austin McKade readily offers his help to protect the woman he never should have let get away. Together they’ll follow where the clues lead them, even if it means Austin must face the past he’s spent much of his life trying to forget. And even if it puts Willow’s tender heart at risk.

In this fast-paced and emotional page-turner, bestselling author Elizabeth Goddard keeps the stakes high, the romantic tension sparking, and the outcome uncertain until the very end.

My thoughts on the book:

So, this is the first book I have ever read from this author. I was impressed, the story did not slow down much, and when it did those time were still pretty intense just wondering what was going to happen next. The story line was well written and keeps read wondering who did what. Early on I thought “oh this book is so predictable and I know who done it” in the end I was completely wrong. In the end I wanted a little more about Willow,Austin, Charlie, and Heath and what is next for them, then I realized this was a series so I sure I haven’t heard the last of them. I hope to also hear more of Charile’s story as well. Over all this book was a clean read and suitable for all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
