Hostile Intent Lynette Eason

Description:

Ava Jackson entered the military shortly after high school, but her mother’s illness has forced her to request an early discharge. She already lost her father while deployed, and there’s no way she’s going to let her mother die alone. But after a visit to the nursing facility where her mother lives, Ava is attacked walking back to her car. Fortunately, FBI Special Agent Caden Denning arrives in time to help fight off her attacker.

Caden reveals to Ava that she may hold the key to the murders of three families, and he needs her help before anyone else is harmed. The hits show a pattern, and clearly the killer has an agenda. But if Caden and Ava can’t discover what it is, Ava may be next on the hit list.

Bestselling author Lynette Eason concludes her latest suspense-filled series with a bang as secrets are revealed and the guilty are brought to justice.

My Review:

I could not put this book down the author did not disappoint at all that’s for sure. Through most of the book it was completely action packed and has you on the edge of your seat. It also feels very much like you are right there. I loved Ava she just went through so much and so many emotions but would let nothing or no one stop her from finding the truth, she was a true fighter. Caden was there to fight for the rights of everyone and get to the bottom of truth and trying to protect Ava without loosing his heart. I really enjoyed reading about the friends of the characters too it felt more like a family then just friends. The author had no problem making you really really dislike the bad guy either but then make you feel bad for him a little too. Overall this book was an amazing read and I can’t wait to see what the author does next with this group of friends. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The Summer Sisters Sara Richardson

Description:

Three sisters search to reunite their family and find love along the way in this heartwarming, multi-generational novel—fans of Lori Foster and Maisey Yates won’t be able to resist this author’s “unputdownable, unforgettable stories from the heart” (Jill Shalvis, New York Times bestselling author).

The Buchanan sisters share everything—including their inherited Juniper Inn. But when their mother won’t let go of a decades-long feud with their Aunt Sassy to attend the inn’s grand re-opening, the sisters decide a family reunion is long overdue.

Youngest sister Rose is determined to put together an extravagant celebration. Only she needs to convince a certain surly hardware store owner to help finish the inn’s renovations.

After a heartbreaking end to her marriage, Dahlia and her kids are just starting to rebuild their lives. Dahlia’s even considering opening herself up to love again, but will that upset the stability she’s worked so hard to give her children?

Sassy McGrath has never stopped missing her sister, Lillian, and though they’ve both been too stubborn to reconcile, some shocking news might finally change everything. As family bonds are tested, will these two very different generations of women find the strength to believe in themselves and each other?

My Review:

Y’all the Sisters are back and so is Sassy!!! I forgot how much I like this group of women in Home for the Holidays until I started reading this book. I like I am catch up with friends with this group. Sassy is  still a pistol and this book she was as stubborn as they come, yet set out to help those she loves the most in life. Rose seems to still be find her place at the inn but she is starting to feel like she’s fitting in and is ready to even get her hands dirty and help she’s someone I think in a way we all want to be. Dahlia is a little more reserved in this book and I can understand why she’s trying to find herself after the death of her marriage. Overall I can’t with this group of women they really make me wish I had sisters, such a fun read and I could not put it down so well worth it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. 4.5 out of 5 stars

Description:

She’s looking for a second chance to reconnect with her daughter but finds so much more.

Since her husband’s climbing death a year ago, Maureen Shannon’s relationship with her twelve-year-old daughter has spiraled out of control. Desperate, she resigns from her partnership at a legal firm and moves back to her hometown in Whitefish, Montana, with the hope that family and nature can heal their wounds. Her investment in a heli-skiing and lodge operation makes financial sense, but her attraction to the owner doesn’t. He’s everything she’s come to hate—a man who makes his living chasing adventure.

Jake Hartman knows Maureen Shannon is off limits. She’s an investor in his company—a silent investor who’s never silent. Worse, she’s a mom who’s beautiful, intelligent and makes him feel more alive than he’s ever known. A self-confirmed bachelor, he finds himself uneasily contemplating a very different partnership.

But will Maureen be able to let go of her past and build a future with a man who never imagined becoming a husband or a father?

My thoughts on the book:

I really enjoyed this story I am sure this is the finally for this series and if that is the case then the author went out with a bang with this one. You know a twist is coming but you are not sure what the author is going to throw at you with this one that was for sure. I Maureen my heart broke for her and some of the things she faced were tough. I liked Jake he came off a little immature but you do see him grow in this story. Holly I would have loved to see her get a hard talking to, ugh the amount of disrespect was a lot, but I see in the end why the author did what she did. Over all this is a good clean read and I really did enjoy it and had a hard time putting it down. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Ethan: Black Sheep Cowboy, Maddie James The Parker Ranches, Inc., #7

 Description:

Navy SEAL Ethan MacKay returns to Sweet Grass Ranch to recuperate from an injury suffered on a mission, and eventually help manage the South Dakota family ranch with his identical twin brother, Evan. But he’s been gone too long, and he’s not the man who left the ranch over a dozen years ago. Not by a long shot. His body broken, and hopefully not his mind, he prays what they say is true–that cowboy runs deep in your blood–because this black sheep cowboy could sure use something familiar to hang his hat on.

But being back home at Sweet Grass is almost more of a challenge than heading up a special ops mission in Libya, especially when something familiar turns out to be the major challenge–his ex-wife, Brandley Mendoza.

Brandley and Ethan’s marriage quickly unraveled when he headed into SEAL training, and by the time of his first deployment, their relationship was fatally severed. Still, she keeps in close contact with the MacKays and considers them family. Hired by Ethan’s brother to review the ranch’s accounting books after their father’s death, Brandley soon discovers Evan has an ulterior motive. Why he thinks she is the person to help Ethan get his head back on straight, she doesn’t know, especially when she’s dealing with problems of her own–namely, her ex-husband, who is seeking full custody of their daughter.

But she risks coming down from her Black Hills safe haven to find out–only to realize that her heart is still vulnerable, and that Ethan isn’t the cowboy she fell in love with when they were kids.

Can Brandley tease out the cowboy in Ethan’s black sheep heart and rediscover the love they once shared? Can she resolve the issues of her own shaky past, to let herself trust again? Or are they both too far gone to even try?

My thoughts on the book:

This is a new to me author so I did not know what to expect with this book. In the beginning of the book I felt like the curse words were just a little to much, I mean a curse word here and there is a book I can work with but it seemed for a good portion of the beginning it felt like every other word. Once you get to about the middle of the book things get really interesting and I did find the book hard to put down after that. I Like Bradley and Ethan but I felt like even though it was their story being told it also came back to being about Ethan’s family and how they need to work to help each other out which was fun. I loved Sadie why she was young and she faced some tough things the author didn’t sugar coat it at all which made the story relatable. Over all this book while has strong language and sexual content it was a good read. I feel like this is not the end for this group so who knows next where the author will take this family. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A Perfect Amish Romance Shelley Shepard Gray

5 out of 5 stars

  Description:

From New York Times bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray comes a new series that follows a bookmobile driver-turned-matchmaker who learns that her Amish patrons need a whole lot more than just new books to read.

Aaron Coblentz has a secret: he’s been studying to take the GED to get promoted at work. But he can’t let his Amish family know, not when his older brother already left the faith just a year after getting baptized, practically crippling the family. When Aaron asks bookmobile librarian Sarah Anne Miller for some additional study guides, she does one better. She arranges for Kayla Kaufman to be his tutor.

Kayla has a secret, too. Her life has been turned upside down in a matter of months—her mother’s death propelled her father into a constant state of depression, and unable to deal with his erratic behavior, her longtime boyfriend has broken things off. But despite losing those she holds most dear, she hasn’t completely given up on love. Only now she seeks to find it in the sweet romance novels she secretly checks out from Sarah Anne’s bookmobile.

As Aaron and Kayla’s study sessions start to feel less like work and more like pleasure, they soon realize that happily ever afters don’t only happen in fiction; sometimes they happen when you least expect it.

From a “skilled storyteller who reminds the reader that faith can help us survive the ups and downs in life” (RT Book Reviews), A Perfect Amish Romance is a moving and deftly told story that paints a heartwarming picture of the magic of true love.

My thoughts on the book:

I really liked this book, I felt like the book was more geared towards a younger reader (teenagers), however I feel like as an adult reader it was still a very fun read. I liked Kayla she was very independent and very strong willed willing to keep fighting now matter what she faced. Aaron he came off kind of immature at first but I felt like the more you read he seems to grow up a lot. Joel and Tiny was fun to read about as well and you can tell they were both immature but looking to grow up as well. I LOVED Sarah she was hands down my favorite she has a heart for everyone that comes into her life weather big or small, long or short. She truly felt like an angel/grandmother to so many in this book while trying to find more about her self. I really don’t think I can say anything negative about this book over all it was just a really good read and draws you in and you want to find out what is going to happen next. This is a good clean read as well.

Boone Emily March

 Description:

In Eternity Springs: The McBrides of TexasNew York Times bestselling author Emily March presents a brand new arc set in the Lone Star State that features a family-linked trilogy within the author’s romantic series.

With his smooth talk, rugged good looks, and deep pockets, native Texan Boone McBride appears to be a man who has it all. Few people know about the heartbreak behind his decision to leave home, family, and career for the isolation of a small town in the Colorado Rockies. Luckily, time and life in Eternity Springs has worked its healing magic upon his wounded soul, so when he meets obviously troubled Hannah Dupree, Boone sees a chance to pay his good fortune forward. The last thing he anticipates is tumbling into love.

Tragedy has taken everything Hannah loves, and her will to keep going is failing. So when Boone strides into her life determined to save her, it’s easier to go along with him than to resist. Soon she is drawn into the fabric of life in Eternity Springs, and as her spirit begins to heal, her strength returns, and she’s able to go toe-to-toe with this hardheaded, big-hearted Texan. But just when love blooms and happiness is within their grasp, shadows from the past threaten. Hannah and Boone must stand strong and united in order to defeat old ghosts―if they are to create a brand-new life together.

My thoughts on the book:

The cousin’s are back, I was so glad to be able to catch up with Tucker, Jackson and now Boone. I really love Celeste she’s full of wisdom and guidance and does it in such a way that you don’t know what hits you until she’s done. I felt this book did deal with some tough subjects but in the end it was worth it. Nothing seems to be off limits with this author and I appreciate that because it makes the characters feel more like friends and less like fictional characters. Hannah has such a big heart and she is dealing with some things and looking for healing. I like that every time I read about Eternity Springs its seems like some one is looking for healing and Eternity Springs is just that place to find that healing. Boone did come off pushy sometimes but its really hard not to like him and see where his heart is. For those who are content sensitive: this book contains non-graphic scenes of sexual content. Overall this book is really good and I could not put it down so worth the read. I can’t wait to see who shows up in Eternity Springs next. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

She deserves a vacation—plus, when she returns, she’ll have no excuse to skip family Christmas like she did last year.

Everly and Asher begin to see magic in the possibility of a life together. But as the cruise nears its end, and Everly’s family Christmas approaches, both must decide if love is worth the risk. A merry surprise may be in store in Debbie Macomber’s newest holiday delight.

My thoughts on the book:

I liked this book I mean who doesn’t love a good Christmas book. I liked how this book the main character Everly is reminded to slow down and find herself and try and find what’s really important in life. I liked Asher at first he came off a little mysterious at first. I liked how he was out going and so many people loved him and was willing to following him. I loved how even though Everly took everything as it came and nothing seem to hold her back. I really enjoyed the value of family in this book and how it really puts you in the Christmas spirit. I loved how the author kept this a good clean read and is suitable for all. Overall this is a good and quick read and you won’t be disappointed. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Falling for Her Laurie LeClair

 Description:

The girl next door is now the woman he’s falling for.

As her ten year high school reunion approaches, Becca Thompson feels the pinch of not accomplishing enough since graduation. Romance has been an even bigger bust. Longing for more, she decides to organize a fall harvest festival and community fundraiser on her family’s orchard. But Becca gets more than she bargained for when she asks her childhood friend to help. Suddenly her bestie is making her knees weak and her heart flutter.

Jason Fox is dedicated to his veterinarian practice and raising funds to make his dream animal shelter a reality. When he’s sidelined by an injury, he takes a break and returns home to Cupid’s Corner. But from the moment he sees Becca, everything’s different. She’s no longer the young girl he picked apples and pumpkins with—she’s a self-reliant, beautiful woman.

Jason helps Becca with the festival, but the more time they spend together the harder it is to ignore the sparks. Can leaving the friend zone end in love or will it ruin everything?

My thoughts on the book:

I loved these characters and the fact that the author included dogs as a big part of the story was just the cherry on top. While the story was somewhat predictable it was also very refreshing. I loved Mr and Mrs. Valentine what a sweet couple they were hard not to love. I did not read the other books in the series so I can’t tell you if there was any follow up on other characters. I like Stacy she jumped on the pages and seem to be a great sister and didn’t take much from Jason she didn’t give back. I liked that the author kept this book a clean read so that it would be suitable for all. Overall this book was a quick read and I really enjoyed it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Home for the Holidays Sara Richardson

 Description:

“Sara Richardson writes unputdownable, unforgettable stories from the heart” in this emotional holiday novel, where three sisters have one last Christmas to confront their pasts before their lives change forever (Jill Shalvis, New York Times bestselling author).
The Buchanan sisters all share special childhood memories of their Aunt Sassy’s beloved Juniper Inn. There, they frolicked in the snow, baked sugar cookies, and celebrated the town’s annual Christmas extravaganza. They haven’t been back to Colorado in nearly fifteen years, but when their aunt invites them for one last Christmas, they can’t say no . . .
With her ex-husband whisking her children away for the holiday, Dahlia decides it’s time to do something for herself. Juniper Springs is just as beautiful as she remembers, but it’s also full of surprises — including the town’s handsome doctor, who makes her feel like herself again for the first time in years.
To the outside world, baker Magnolia has the ideal marriage. Only the pain and sorrow of infertility have strained her relationship with her husband, perhaps beyond repair. But a holiday miracle is about to change her life.
After a whirlwind romance, youngest sister Rose is about to be married, but as the wedding draws near, she’s unsettled by her fiancé’s expectations that she become a society wife. Spending Christmas with her family could be a necessary reality check — or the beginning of a brand-new happily ever after.
Thanks to the strength of their sisterhood, some mistletoe, and the love of their Aunt Sassy, the Buchanan sisters will discover what it is they truly want this Christmas.

My thoughts on the book:

WOW!!!  That was my reaction to this book. I feel in love with the cover and always have enjoyed this author so I dug in blinding have not a clue what the book was about. I so enjoyed it. I love the closeness of the sisters. I love Sassy, oh my what a pistol she is. I also liked how the author didn’t even try and sugar coat any of the sisters lives, because of this the sisters felt like I was catching up with friends. The sisterhood in this book will make you long for that if you don’t have it and will make you appreciate it even more if you do have it. This book is not necessarily about one love story but family the most important thing ever. I loved that the author kept this story a good clean read and it will put you in the mood for Christmas that’s forsake. Seriously you can not go wrong with this book. I am not sure if the author plans a follow up in the future but I am ready for more from these three. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The Dating Itinerary Brooke Williams

 Description:

As if it wasn’t bad enough to be deemed the “most single person” at her magazine’s office, budding reporter Penny has now been tapped to write a series of features called “The Dating Itinerary.” From speed dating to Tinder, old-fashioned matchmakers to up-and-coming “dark dating,” Penny now has to go on a lot of dates. Silver lining: meeting new people should be fun, right? But running into her old rival, George, at her first dating event is decidedly not. Not only does the arrogant know-it-all have zero trouble attracting women, wherever Penny goes, somehow he just. Keeps. Showing. Up.

Geo knows he’s right on the cusp of writing success with the chance to have his own syndicated column. All he has to do is follow his agent’s ideas for showcasing different dating avenues, and he’ll pull in enough to help his sister’s non-profit women’s shelter get off the ground. Sure, his itinerary is starting to look strangely similar to his old rival Penny’s, but all’s fair in love and syndication, right?

The more they look for love in all the wrong places, though, the more they start to wonder if it was right in front of their noses all along. Still, the brutal dating scene just might end them, if these two don’t kill each other first.

My thoughts on the book:

This is a new to me author and this book was super fun read. If this book was a movie (which I could totally see) this would be a total romcom for sure.  This author definitely has a sense of humor I mean look at the names of the characters and you will totally see why I say that. I liked both main characters in the end, however I was not a fan of “Geo” I so wanted to punch him a couple of times thought out the book. Penny and her sisters were just so fun to read about and I hope if this is not a series the author turns it into one because I am so ready to read their stories too. I loved Geo’s sister man with what she faced she too had a heart of gold and I want her to have a Happy ever after. 🙂 I will say that the author does have some of the characters face or had faced to very tough subjects but over all this book was very much a good clean read and so well worth the read. I could not put it down. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”
