Take Me Away, Cowboy by Kristine Lynn

Description:

Saving lives is a heady experience, but what happens next after someone saves yours?

Paige Connors is certain of two facts: she loves her job as a traveling pediatrician and she will never, never end up in her small hometown of Banberry, Idaho. Why would she, when a whole world exists for her to explore? Then a strikingly handsome former Marine moves in next to Paige’s family, and suddenly, she’s rethinking her life’s choices.

Owen Johnson isn’t sure why he decided to settle down in the quaint, rural town of Banberry after a kinetic career in the military almost cost him his life. But as he spends more and more time flirting with his sexy neighbor, it becomes clear that the why and how aren’t as important as his need to be with her.

That is, until a freak accident irrevocably changes their lives. Will these lovers be able to put aside their fears and find healing in each other, or is it too late to set down roots?

My Review:

This is a new to me author. I will say I really liked the story over all it flowed really well and keeps you drawn in the whole time. I loved Owen he had this fun spirit about him. He face some tough situations in his life but he took life by the balls and ran with it head on. He was over all a fun character. Paige kind of drove me crazy. I think that back in forth of I like you, I don’t like you, felt very high schoolish, instead of someone who was a grown woman. I loved the relationship between Paige and her brother they were so fun and the sibling rivalry. There is adult situations and strong language in the book so may not be suitable for all readers. Overall this was a fun read with some fun characters and worth the read.

A Cowboy for Keeps Laura Drake

Description:From a “fabulous new voice in romantic fiction” (NYT bestselling author Lael Miller): an arrogant cowboy meets a headstrong woman determined to take custody of his niece, only to realize that she may be the family he was always searching for.
There’s not much that could rattle a cowboy like Reese St. James. But when his twin brother dies in a car accident, Reese is stunned to discover he has a six-month old niece, Sawyer. Wanting to make up for lost time, Reese heads down to Unforgiven, New Mexico, to bring her home. He doesn’t plan on Sawyer’s guardian giving him any trouble, but the intriguing, independent woman is turning out to be more than he bargained for.
Lorelei West had given up hope of having a family of her own until her sister’s tragic death brought little Sawyer into her life. And now there’s no way she’s going to let Reese take her away. Lorelei knows hotshot, good-looking cowboys like him — she’s dated enough of them — and she intends to stand her ground. Yet the more time Reese and Lorelei spend together, the harder it is to deny the attraction building between them. But opening their hearts to a baby is one thing — can they also open their hearts to the possibility of a happily-ever-after?

My thoughts on the book:

Let me start off that in the end this book really turned out way better then I expected and I end up liking it in the end for sure. Now that being said this book is told in a first person point of view. The author did include both characters so that was a plus that most authors who write FPV don’t do. I however felt that in the beginning of the book both Reese and Lorelei came off as very whinny which at first came as a turn off, but hang in there it gets better. The storyline was really good and I did feel it go to the heart for sure. There is adult situations in this book so it may not be suitable for all. I did read the first books two of this series so it was nice catching up with Austin, Carly, Nevada and Fish, I still have to say Nevada is one of my favorite characters thus far in this series but in this book Carly took a very close second, they both are friends every girl needs in there life someone who will always have your back no matter what. Yall over all I would totally re-read this book it was worth it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

Includes the bonus novella A Fairytale Bride!

My thoughts on the book:

I really enjoy this author so I was excited to get this book and sit down and read it.  I really feel like this book was about healing and forgiveness and finding your true self. I really liked Emma she wanted to have it all together but she still wanted to please people as well so she really was looking to find herself. She really had her heart broken in the past and turning 30 has her really thinking and making hard decisions. Jack was easy to fall in love with. I liked how the author didn’t try and make the characters perfect. I liked reading again about Dawanda and her cappuccino readings you truly never know what’s going to come out of her mouth next. There were so many fun sub characters that I want to know more about and read their stories. I love how the story draws you in and keeps you going to the end. There is adult talk but over all this book was totally worth the read and you can’t go wrong.  I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

When she runs into an old flame, she decides she can live out a fantasy, then leave town to pursue her dreams.

But love doesn’t play by the rules…

My thoughts on the book:

This is a new author for me. When I first start this book I will say I was not thrilled. I felt like every book I seem to be reading, however I hung in there and that changed for me really quick and I really start to enjoy it and be drawn into the story. I really like Reese she’s got a good head on her should she speaks her mind but she leads with her big heart on her sleeve. I liked James I felt like he had some growing up to do but he needs the right person in his life to help direct him in that path. The two together were just seemed natural relationship didn’t seem forced. I adored James’ grandparents they just seem to be what grandparents are made of. They really added a huge element to the story but played such a small part if that makes sense. I so want to read more about Finn from the get go I felt like I need to know more of his story. This book does have adult situations and language. Overall I would totally re-read this book again it was just that good. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

Description:

Whitney Carroll is back home in Gatlinburg, Tennessee after divorcing her low-down, cheating husband. First thing on the to-do list: Get a job. Second thing: Just say no to men. Third thing: Don’t fall for the boss. One out of three’s not too bad, right?

For Sam Ellis, his to-do list is always work, work, work, trying to keep his family’s legacy alive. Now, out of concern, his siblings bet he can’t keep a girl happy for thirty days, and if he loses he’s out as CEO. No problem, he can fake a relationship. And he knows just who to ask…his new man-vegan assistant.

Yet Whitney’s sexy boss—secret singer and Skee-Ball champion—is definitely NOT boring, and their connection is undeniable. But when a disaster strikes at work, Sam will have to decide if he’s willing to trade in his job for his heart.

My thoughts on the book:

I didn’t read the first book in the series and I have never read anything by this author so I wasn’t sure what to expect. When I first started this book it seemed like so many other relationships of convince, however I liked all the characters they were fun and Family was first no matter what they faced. I loved Betsy she is a pistol and oh my I can’t wait to read her story. I loved Whitney why she has a broken spirit from her divorce she was a fighter and willing to take on whatever was thrown at her. This book over all was a fun read it did have sex indicated but not in-depth. I can’t wait to read more from this author and see what these fun characters are up to next. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Bestselling and award-winning author Irene Hannon invites you back to Hope Harbor–where hearts heal . . . and love blooms.

My thoughts on the book:

I would say this book does discuss some very tough issues. The author had a way of getting to the heart of the matter that’s for sure. I did feel like the book dragged some. I like Steven why he faced his own demons he had a big heart of wanting to help those around him. As in all Hope Harbor book Charley, Gladys and Floyd make appearances through out and I always love them they have a way of  adding a good laugh to the story, but Charley has away of knowing just what to say when it needs to be said and giving the guidance and wisdom. I had mix feeling on Holly but in the end she grew on me. Over all this is a good clean read and may be suitable to all. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Cowboy for Hire Victoria James

Description:
When a shy woman inherits a ranch, she’ll have to find an inner strength to succeed—and open herself up to love—in this heartwarming novel from New York Times bestselling author Victoria James.

Sarah Turner has led a very sheltered life. So when her parents pass away tragically, suddenly she’s left in charge of the family ranch with little know-how but plenty of will to keep it afloat. Determined not to lose her parents’ legacy or her newfound independence, she needs a hero fast—not to save her, but to show her how to save herself. But she’s unprepared for the ruggedly handsome cowboy who answers her ad.

“Cowboy for Hire,” the ad said, and Cade Walker is quick to respond. Betrayed as ranch manager by his former boss, he’s looking for a new place to put down roots—without the pressure to prove himself again. Except when he meets his new boss, it’s clear he’s not only there to run a ranch but to also teach Miss Independent how to run it. But as they struggle to make the ranch flourish, they’ll both need courage if they hope to find a family…together.

Each book in the Wishing River series is STANDALONE:
* The Trouble with Cowboys
* Cowboy for Hire

My thoughts on the book:

I liked this story it was super cute, emotional and a fun read. I liked Sarah my heart broke for her and everything she faced, but she was a fighter and nothing was going to hold her back from getting what she wants. Oh my goodness Cade I think I have a dislike/love relationship with him in this story. Sometimes I wanted to smack him and then sometimes my heart broke for him, I think in this story you will find two heroes not just one. I also really enjoyed the other characters in the book they are all a fun group of friends and the author made you feel like you were right there hanging out. I can’t wait to see what adventure the author takes Dean and Hope one, or at least that’s what I hope the author is going for next. :-). Overall this was a fun read. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

Description:

So when Lola comes to him for help uncovering Randy’s hidden life, Drew finds himself saying yes against his better judgment – especially with the Widows Club eyeing them both. Soon enough, Lola is upending Drew’s peaceful, predictable world…and he kind of likes it! But will this big-city girl ever give her heart to a small-town guy again?

My thoughts on the book:

I am excited this is a series, I say that because the town of Sunshine it full of some really fun characters and I can’t wait to see where the author goes next.  My two favorite characters would have to be Lola and Becky, Becky was a pistol she was so cute, sometimes you never knew what was going to come out of her mouth. I like Lola because no matter what she was a fighter and super independent she also had a vulnerability to her that made her feel like she could be your best friend, which made it feel like you were catching up instead of reading about fictional characters. I liked the judge too and his punishments oh my if we all had a judge like this in our towns. I wish that one thing that happened towards the end would have happened a little sooner, but I understand the book had to play out the way it did for a reason. Overall this book was fun read and it was a good clean read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

The Anti-Honeymoon Bethany Michaels

Description:

No groom? No Problem.

When her fiancé tries to turn their wedding into a publicity stunt, Jenna ditches the nuptials—and the groom she shouldn’t have been with in the first place—and skips straight to the honeymoon. The getaway driver, her ex-fiancé’s former business partner, Zach, is the perfect guy to help reshape her romantic newlywed itinerary into an anti-couple, anti-romance, anti-honeymoon adventure for two.

They trade couples yoga for kickboxing lessons. Five-star dining on the beach for pizza and beer at a dive bar. Forget couples massage—Jenna’s getting that tattoo she’s always wanted, and dares Zach to get one, too. And those naughty boudoir pics she took in place of romantic sunset snaps? Those aren’t going in anyone’s wedding album. Not that Zach will forget them anytime soon.

As each item on Jenna’s anti-couples list is checked off, the anti-honeymoon with Zach feels more and more like the real thing, and she wishes the list was just a little bit longer…and even steamier.

My thoughts on the book:

This book was very predictable but so worth the read. The book was a fun and quick read. Jenna is more of a laid back take life as it comes and Zach is a type A personality everything has to be planned out, in this book everything is tossed in the air and nothing goes as planned for either. I really like Marcy she had a small part in the book was she was mighty. I would love to read her story next and see what trouble she gets into. This book has curse words and sex so may not be suitable for all. Over all this book was quick read and well worth it. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. Collision of Lies Tom Threadgill

Description:

Threadgill plunges a detective from the San Antonio Property Crimes Division into a deep-laid plot involving murder, kidnapping, and myriad other crimes above her pay grade.”–Kirkus Reviews

Three years ago, a collision between a fast-moving freight train and a school bus full of kids led to devastation and grief on an unimaginable scale. But a fresh clue leads San Antonio police detective Amara Alvarez to the unlikely conclusion that one of the children may still be alive. If she’s correct, everything law enforcement believes about the accident is a lie.

With time running out, Amara must convince others–and herself–that despite all evidence to the contrary, the boy lives. And she will do everything in her power to bring him home.

A fresh voice in suspense, Tom Threadgill will have you questioning everything as you fly through the pages of this enthralling story.

My thoughts on the book:

I have never read anything by this author so I didn’t know what to expect. I will start off by saying over all the story was good, there is no romance in this book at all the author hints at it throughout but I just was not ever part of the storyline as a whole ever. I did however felt like the book was wordy and some things I could have gone without. I will say the story will keep you guessing and leave you wondering who else is involved. This author does keep this story a clean read so it would be suitable for all. There are some tough issues that may not be ok with some but over all a very suspenseful book. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion
