Mail Order Cowboy Victoria James

Description:

Hope Roberts has a strict No Cowboys Allowed policy. Between raising her daughter, running her business, and trying to settle into her new ranch, Hope has no room for romance—especially when it comes to cowboys. What she needs is someone to help fix her ranch. But the only person to respond to her ad is the one man Hope still blames for her husband’s death…

In Wishing River, Dr. Dean Stanton is pretty much a legend. Cowboy, doctor, heir to his family’s ranching empire—everyone knows and loves him…with the exception of Hope. But Dean doesn’t trust a complete stranger to keep Hope and her daughter safe. And despite their troubled past, he’s still the best cowboy for her job.

Bit by cautious bit, Hope’s little family of two is making room for the man she once thought of as her enemy. Until one day, Dean looks like the perfect exception to her “no cowboys” rule. But he’s been keeping a secret from her that could destroy their newfound family…

My Review:

I really liked this book, the author does a good job and making you feel like you are right there in the middle of the town watching everything play out almost as you are part of the friend group. I love books like this and also don’t like them because in the end I want more and it’s over. She takes two very broken character for very different reasons and sets them on a path to finding healing and forgiveness, which just like in real like is never all that easy. I really like Hope she was a fighter and I loved her daughter Sadie, Sadie has this big heart for such a small kid and she seems so wise beyond her years she really taught these two adults a lot without even knowing or trying. I like Dean even though there were a few time I wanted to slap him up side his head and tell him to get it together. I loved the friend group, I feel like we all need friends in out lives like this group they call each other out and they hold nothing back. Over all this book was a really good read and I would say worth it. I will say this book does contain talk about emotional and verbal abuse so it may be hard for some to read but don’t let that stop you its very much worth it.

Honor Bound Hallee Bridgeman

Description:

It may seem odd to seek peace by moving to a war-torn African country, but for medical missionary Dr. Cynthia Myers, it provided a way to escape a shallow life of unearned wealth, a philandering fiancé, and a father now square in the public eye as vice president of the United States. At least here she knows her work and life have meaning. But all that is thrown into chaos when she fails to save the life of a local warlord’s mortally wounded son.

As part of the Army Special Forces “A-Team” on a mission to capture and subdue the warlord, Captain Rick Norton is compelled to use deadly force to save Cynthia’s life. Enraged at the violence she witnessed and riddled with guilt that men died because of her, Cynthia tries to hold on to her anger–but an unwanted attraction is taking hold.

With two members of his team badly injured and rebels in hot pursuit, Rick will have to draw upon all his strength and cunning to get her out alive . . . because he’s beginning to think they just might overcome their differences and be able to make a life together.

My Review:

This is a new to me author and I was not disappointed. This book will have you on the edge of your seat one minute to watching the characters try and find healing. The first half of this book will have you on the edge of your seat why the second portion of the book slows things down a little and has you on another journey with the characters. I want so much more of Ozzy’s story I feel like that story is going to be gut wrenching. I liked Rick a lot he was a strong character with determination for his friends and his country. He did not have a hero complex but stayed humble while doing what he loved. I liked Cynthia, in the beginning she felt like she needed to grow up a little bit but she too had a heart for those less fortunate and worked hard to become a better person while making the world a better place. Over all the author kept this book a clean read and it was well worth it. Can’t wait to read more about these characters.

The Sweetheart Fix Miranda Liasson

Juliet Montgomery absolutely loves her small town of Blossom Glen, Indiana, and everyone loves her. Except for the fact that she’s a couples counselor who suffered a very public breakup that no one can forget. And now her boss asks her to take a step back…which is exactly when the town’s good-lookin’ and unusually gruff mayor offers her an unexpected job.

Jack Monroe absolutely loves being the mayor of his small town. Except when he actually has to talk to people. Can’t he just fix the community problems in peace? Like right now, he’s mediating the silliest dispute two neighbors could possibly have. When the town sweetheart steps up and solves everyone’s problems in five minutes flat, Jack realizes what this town really needs…is a therapist.

Juliet is able to soothe anyone—other than the surly mayor, it seems. But there’s a reason they say opposites attract, because all of their verbal sparring leads to some serious attraction. Only, just like with fireworks, the view might appear beautiful—but she’s already had one public explosion that’s nearly ruined everything…how can she risk her heart again?

Each book in the Blossom Glen series is STANDALONE:
* The Sweetheart Deal
* The Sweetheart Fix

My Review:

I liked this story it was such a good story. This author defiantly took the bull by the horns and ran with it and she took on a subject that most authors don’t seem to touch, mental health. I really like Juliet she may have struggled and living in a small town she where she was under the microscope but she was a fighter and always willing to continue to grow and learn and help those she comes across wanting what’s best for everyone. Jack was a bit much some times, it’s like he truly did not want to open up about anything,. I loved his grandma she was so sweet and full of so much wisdom. I really liked this group of friends and family, it goes along with blood doesn’t make you family but we choose family. I can’t wait to see where the author takes this group next. The author did keep this book fairly clean, so may be suitable for all readers. This book was a fun read and well worth the read.

When the stoic cowboy bets the ranch on her winning a cutting horse competition—and she’s terrified to ride—she wonders if there’s any hope for them. Renewing the love between them may take more than a moment under the mistletoe. But working together could heal past hurts and give their five-year-old son his Christmas wish!USA TODAY Bestselling Author

My Review:

I have really enjoyed reading about the Blackwell family and am sad to see it end, they truly feel like friends you are just catching up with. I felt this book was pretty emotional with it being the ending and with some of the things that were discussed. I like Helen and she was a fighter and faced with a lot. She always seem to be fighting for everyone but herself and her friend Gwen was her biggest cheerleader, we all need a Gwen in our lives. Nash was ok I like him when he stepped up but I also felt like he was all over the place and really struggled with his demons. Luke was a pistol and him and Grand Denny seem to have the biggest hearts and wanted what was best for everyone in the family and the town of Eagle Springs. The author kept this book a clean read so it would be suitable for all. Overall this was good read and was the perfect way to end this series.

My Review:

I typically really like this author and her stories, so I was really excited to read this one. However this book was a bit of a let down for me, it just did not feel like her normal writing style and in some places felt rushed and others seems to drag and have way too much detail. For the first part of the book I really liked both characters I felt like the book started strong, I felt in the end that Cole was a bit of a jerk and just pushed until he got what he wanted. Micki seemed like a strong independent person ready to take on the world but once she was with Cole she game this timid shy person. I really liked Alexas she was a good friend and a really strong character through out. I also really Liked Micki’s Mom she was so fun and had me laughing out loud that women held nothing back that came to her mind. This book does contain sex scenes so may not be suitable for all readers. Overall this book just was not for me.

My Review:

This is a new to me author, so I have not read anything else in the series. That being said though I don’t feel like I need to, to read this book. It does bring up the other characters from the other books. Now on to this story, it was super cute story, it gave off Hallmark vibes for sure. I loved Sabrina she was so sweet and had the biggest heart but she wanted to guard her self from the pain of love. Ryan was the jock who didn’t make it and felt like he lost a part of who he was and kept trying to find who he was. He was kind but also came off like a bit conceded and better then. The story was overall fun read, very predictable, but if you love a good Hallmark movie then this is for you. This book does contain sex so may not be suitable for readers.

My Review:

Its been a minute since I caught up with the Rossi Family and this was a fun read to do that with. With this group it feel like you are catching up with friends you haven’t talk to in a while! I really liked Max he had a big heart and felt with a blow that so many families deal with and some done come out of without deep everlasting scars. Yet with Max who took it on the chin and was determined to leave the world a better place. Angelica and Cosima seemed more like sister and had each others back and  would take on just about anything even if a little mischief was involved. They were both very determined to do great things even if it meant starting over. They were so fun to read about each had a large personally with a gentle spirit. The only thing is in the end I wanted to read move of Cosima story so I hope this is not the last we read of her. This book does contain sex so it may not be suitable for all readers. Overall it was a fun read and well worth it.

If only her heart could ignore the sparks that flare between them.

They’re already keeping the family’s lottery win a secret from the town. Can they also hide their budding romance during the most magical time of year?

My Review:

They say money makes everything better, but does it really. This is a new to me author and I Have to say I was not disappointed at all! I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see where these characters go next. I felt like the storyline was also new not something I had read before, its like the author dreamed up what would happen in real life and put in one paper. I really liked the whole family, however I did find Xander to be a bit of a mystery to me but in a way that makes you want to know more and see who he really is. I loved Ava and her huge heart for those who she truly loved and cared for. Josh grew up fast due to circumstances beyond his control but he still wanted what was best for his family. Carly was little miss independent also had a heart of gold but don’t get in her way if you mess with the wrong person because she is a spit fire and ready to go to bat for the ones who just need someone on their side. Overall the author kept this a clean book and has a way of putting you right there in the middle of the story. This book did not disappoint and I can’t wait for more.

My Review:

This author never disappoints. This book was once again that I found hard to put down. I really liked how the author made the characters feel real. I loved Tae she really struggled with decisions that she made in her life and she also struggled with her faith after a tragic loss, but she was a fighter and would not stop at anything to fight to change the world and make it a better place. Colt is a fighter and he wants the best but he is struggling with his own demons and just can’t seem to get out of his head and into his heart. The story line was well played out and will keep you guessing to the end on what’s going to happen next. Overall I loved the main and sub characters and I loved the core value of the story. The Wedding Ranch Nancy Naigle

Description:

A second chance at love awaits two brokenhearted people if they’re just willing to trust each other—and themselves, in USA Today bestselling author Nancy Naigle’s The Wedding Ranch

When Lorri Walker’s husband gifted her with a mastiff puppy on Valentine’s Day, she believed he was recommitting himself to their marriage after going astray. Six months later, he left both her and their dog for someone else. Since her recent move to Dalton Mill to unbraid herself from the past, Lorri’s graphic design business is now flourishing, her growing mastiff, Mister, has plenty of space to romp, and her ex in Raleigh can fade to a distant memory.

Ryder Bolt is haunted by the tragic loss of his wife and young son seven years ago. Thankfully, ranching keeps Ryder busy, and spending time with his niece and nephew—whose venue, The Wedding Ranch, has become a popular tourist destination—keeps him from getting lonely.

When Lorri and Ryder met, love was the last thing they were looking for. When they’re together, smiles come easier and burdens feel lighter, and both are embracing the possibility of something deeper.

But when a long-buried revelation surfaces, the fate that brought them together threatens to tear them apart.

My Review:

This book was amazing, seriously had the hardest time putting it down, and then when it was over I just wanted so much more. This book had so many emotions in it. The author also did an amazing job at making you feel like you were right there in the story the whole time. I really like Lorri, she had this big heart and she was so relatable but she also came off as putting people at arms length, but that  felt like it was for the purpose of finding healing and forgiveness in the pain she face. Ryder was a big old grouch except when it came to family then he would do just about anything for them, His world stopped the day he lost his wife and son but his family and his small town was trying to help him find himself again. I loved Reece and Ross what amazing characters and they just felt so real. I really hope this is not then end of the story with these characters I am so ready for more. Overall I really could not say anything bad about this book it was worth the read hands down. I also liked that the author kept it clean so it would be suitable for all readers.
