Description:

He’s looking for the one thing she’s done with: family.

Brade Oliver arrives in Grand, Montana, looking for blood—and answers. Genetic tests reveal that his biological family may reside in the small, western town, and he’s on a mission to finally discover the one thing his adoptive family couldn’t give him: the truth.

Kendall McKinley craves a normal life, free of the demands, drama, and constraints of her dysfunctional family. Despite being focused on building her career and working on a restoration project, Kendall can’t help herself from noticing a handsome stranger the first night he arrives. But when Brade starts asking uncomfortable questions around town, Kendall is determined to protect her community and friends. The harder she tries to steer Brade away from the answers he seeks, the more he pushes back…and the more irresistible he becomes.

Brade is determined to uncover the truth no matter what, and Kendall finds herself torn between keeping the secrets of people she cares for and finding answers for the man she loves.

My Review:

I will start with what I liked and end with kind of a hint about the story it self so be aware may contain spoilers. I really liked the original of the story now a days it seems like so many books are starting to read the same and the author took this story with a twist which was refreshing. I really liked Brade he knew what he wanted and didn’t mix words, he set out to find who he was and let nothing or no one stand in his way. I liked Kendall but she was wishy washy one sec she was all in for a potential relationship and the next she had no idea what she wanted in life. Kendall was a very strong character and truly in the end was a fun read….. Now here is where I spoil a little I feel like the story started off with Braces story and ended with more questions about his situation and leaves you wondering what happens next. While also telling you Kendall’s story and leaves you knowing what happens. I know this is the beginning to a series so I really hope there is more with Brade and Dianna and hope their story is not over with just this book.

Meet Me in River’s Edge Nan Reinhardt

Description:

He ticks every one of her “never again” boxes…

But when she’s pulled away from her high school reunion with her sisters to fix a stranded yacht, she can’t restrain her irritation. Jo doesn’t like wealthy men who think they can have whatever they want, and she has no intention of falling for rich and charming again.

Born into the international Briggs Hotels empire, Alex Briggs has never felt comfortable with his life of privilege. Abandoning his family’s business to pursue medical research, he’s far more at home in his lab. When the yacht he restored himself breaks down on the way to an important conference, Alex begrudgingly goes in search of a boat mechanic and falls, literally, into Jo Weaver’s arms. The fireworks he feels are impossible to ignore.

Jo does her best to keep Alex in the business zone, but he keeps slipping into something more. Can she trust her fragile heart, especially when Alex and his life-altering research are so far from River’s Edge?

My Review:

Jo was a spit fire, there was not wondering where you stood with her, she thought it she said it. Because of her past she also had a huge wall up, What I liked that the author did with this situation she didn’t make it so that whole book was about her walls breaking down or impossible to get through but how Jo can grow or grew. Alex was a fun character while he did keep some at arms length he also had no problem pushing Jo’s buttons to get to know the real her. The author has a character go through something and I thought for sure the situations was going one way and that was not how it went and I really am glad with the twist it just super fit way better then where I thought it was going. I liked also that the author kept it clean so it would be suitable for all readers. I also really enjoyed both Alex family and Jo’s but I think hands down my favorite character is Rich he was so fun and had me laughing. Overall this was a fun book and worth the read.

A Baby for the Billionaire Cowboy Kris Bock

Description:

This runaway bride needs a fresh start.

After falling unexpectedly pregnant, Daisy Taylor barely had a moment to think. The baby’s father proposed, her parents rushed the wedding, and Daisy fled the altar. She runs away to Last Stand, Texas, to stay with her aunt and arrives in time for a fundraising ball—where her wedding dress blends in—and dances with a handsome stranger. He seems sweet and kind, and when Daisy later secures employment as an assistant at a nearby ranch, she’s pleased to see the man again. But she’s humiliated that he doesn’t recognize her.

The youngest of his siblings, Xander Tomlinson is still uncomfortable with his family’s unexpected lottery win. He prefers a quiet and peaceful life on the ranch caring for creatures in need. When his mother hires an office assistant, Xander is immediately protective of Daisy and her ever-growing belly.

Daisy won’t take charity and Xander struggles to fight his attraction to Daisy who, as an employee, is off-limits. As their friendship teeters on the edge of becoming more and the baby’s father starts making demands, will Xander learn that some things are worth fighting for?

My Review:

I liked this book. This brother seems like he was the “forgotten” brother only because he was the quietest of the bunch but he did so much behind the scenes for his family to keep things going. The one thing I noticed and I liked in this series is the author found a strength for each person and they excelled instead of making the brothers jealous of each other and their strengths. What I liked about Xander was that he was so kind, respectful, and had the biggest heart but he was always growing and learning. I liked Daisy she was going to do anything to protect her baby and those she loved. She was a fighter for sure! I think throughout the series my favorite character has been Ava. I did like being able to catch up with the other characters from the other books I forgot how much of pistol Carly was. Overall I just really enjoyed this one and I am not sure if more is to come from this group but if not this end the series on a wonderful note. The author did keep the book fairly Clean and its a super quick easy read.

Flirting with Fire Jane Porter

Description:

Love isn’t just an act in this captivating and flirty romance by New York Times bestselling author Jane Porter.

Forty-nine-year-old Margot Hughes has lived and breathed theater for the past twenty-five years. After a devastating breakup with her playwright fiancé, she wants nothing to do with the industry. She has sworn off New York, theater, actors—all of it. She returns to her hometown on California’s central coast and takes a job in real estate, where she manages significant investment properties. But Margot’s suddenly thrown back into the theater world when Sally, her friend and boss, who had been restoring and funding Cambria’s historic theater, has a heart attack. Before she knows it, Margot is tapped to take over the troubled summer production of Barefoot in the Park.

But the play is no walk in the park—the leads and director have all quit, and Margot struggles to find new actors…until Max Russo arrives. Forty-five-year-old Max is a former soap opera star turned rugged cowboy on TV’s most popular western series.  Max has a huge following and is the perfect hero to step up and save the play, provided Margot stars opposite him.   Although adamant she would never return to theater, Margot enjoys the long hours of rehearsal with a professional like Max, who is charming, witty, and passionate. But when the curtains close, can Margot allow herself to fall for Max when he represents everything she left behind?

My Review:I really like this author her books always feel so wholesome and down to earth so I was excited to grab this book and it did not disappoint. The word that came to mind when first started off reading it was refreshing, so many other books you find this immature feel to it and that was not the case with this one. I feel like the author did such and amazing job capturing each character from the main ones to the others who make appearances in the book. I felt like one big family to be honest right from the start. I liked Margot while she knew what she wanted to still put other before herself and had the biggest heart. Max while we all have demons in the past we fight was seemed more like it was better left in the past until it wasn’t. He to had a huge heart for those he loved you just had to get beyond the wall. Overall this was a really fun book with some fun twist. This book does have some sexual content so may not be suitable for all.

Each book in the Pine Creek Amish series is STANDALONE:
* Pine Creek Courtship
* Pine Creek Marriage
* Pine Creek Matchmaker

My Review:I thought this book was super cute read. I found it easy to follow and easy to dive into. I did like Sadie and Grace they were two peas and a pod and just truly felt like sisters over best friends. They were both fun and super independent, Sadie was super straight lace and tried to stay as “perfect” as can be, why Grace was someone who like to have fun and live a little more. Caleb had a big heart but I did feel like he played “the Woah is me” card a little too much. I like how this group of friends continued to welcome people into their group and the author didn’t make seem fake or forced. Over all the author Kept this book a good clean read so it will be suitable for all. It was a very lighthearted read for sure.

Needing a fresh start, she moves to St. Louis to be near her ailing mother and opens a private investigation firm with her friend and former FBI partner, Tony St. Clair. They’re soon approached by a grieving mother who wants them to find out what happened to her teenaged son, who disappeared four years ago. River knows there’s almost no hope the boy is still alive, but his mother needs closure, and River and Tony need a case, no matter how cold it might be.

As River and Tony race to stop him before he kills again, an even more dangerous threat emerges, stirring up the past that haunts River and plotting an end to her future.

My Review:

When I first stated reading this book the one word that immediately came to mind was sinister, then as I kept reading it was twisted and tragic. I can promise you if you start this book be prepared for a roller coster of thrills. This author takes you on a journey like non other from the view of the Killer to the way of the hero’s. I felt like the author did a great job at catching the struggles of River and Tony and how with River’s mom being sick and her fight to keep her mom safe to both River and Tony’s struggle with being captured and hunted. I liked Tony he was the strong silent type but you could tell he balanced and kept River ground when it felt like her life was falling apart. Overall I can’t say there was one thing I didn’t like about this book and I can’t wait for more from this Duo. It was well worth the read for sure.

Must Love Flowers Debbie Macomber

Description:

Two women at different stages of life find themselves on a journey of renewal after undergoing hardships in this uplifting novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber.

“Wise, warm, witty, and charmingly full of hope, this story celebrates the surprising and unexpected ways that family, friendship, and love can lift us up.”—Kristin Hannah, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Four Winds

Joan Sample is not living the life she expected. Now a widow and an empty-nester, she has become by her own admission something of a recluse. But after another birthday spent alone, she is finally inclined to listen to her sister, who has been begging Joan to reengage with the world. With Emmie’s support, Joan gathers the courage to take some long-awaited steps: hiring someone to tame her overgrown garden, joining a grief support group, and even renting out a room to a local college student. Before long Joan is starting to feel a little like herself again.

Across town, Maggie Herbert works mornings as a barista, tending to impatient customers before rushing to afternoon nursing classes. She lives with her alcoholic father, ducking his temperamental outbursts and struggling to pay the household bills. But her circumstances brighten when she finds a room for rent in Joan’s home. In the unexpected warmth of her new situation, Maggie finds a glimmer of hope for a better life. But will Maggie’s budding attraction to one of her favorite customers ruin the harmony she’s only recently found with Joan? Meanwhile, what is Joan to make of the mysterious landscaper who’s been revitalizing her garden—a man who seems to harbor a past loss of his own?

As Maggie and Joan confront difficult life choices, they draw strength from this new friendship in surprising ways—discovering in the process that “found family” is often the very best kind.

My Review:

I really liked this book. I grabbed based on the author alone not reading what the story was going to be about, and I was not disappointed. I loved this group of friends/family they were just a group of broken people on the journey to finding healing and love. Joan in her hurt found away to help Maggie who was also hurting while working to live without those they have lost and loved and dealing with and processing the grief of it all. The author discussed covid but the way she did it played so well into the story it just felt like these characters walked through the same journey the rest of the world did without the author putting to much emphasis on covid. At first I would have loved to slap Steve and Nick but they too were on there own journey to healing and finding themselves that there actions just made sense and it was hard to not like them in the end. Phil was one of this people who when he spoke people noticed and listened. Overall this book was refreshing and well worth the read. The author kept the story clean to it would be suitable for all readers.

Still, loyalty brings Remy to Marietta determined to locate Jace’s godchild, ensure his physical and financial security, then close this chapter for good. But a smoldering encounter with a beautiful bartender threatens his timeline and heart, and when he discovers Jace’s godchild is at risk, he enlists the aid of the enigmatic beauty who’s more no-strings than he is.

It’s a chance for love, family, and a fresh start for them both, but will secrets break the fragile thread of their new beginning?

My Review:

I typically not a fan of “rush” relationships but this author had a way of making it feel like the two main characters have knowing each other for a lot long, it just seemed to work. I really Liked Shane, she was such a fighter she truly took what life threw at her on the chin but still had insecurities that made her relatable. I think the one thing I can say about this story it each character felt like you were catching up with friends not fictional characters, they just were so relatable. Remy was one to just jump in with both feet and ask questions later. I will not blow it but the end really got me I don’t know what I was expecting but I can say it was not that. I loved Arlo she lost so much but was willing to open her heart up in hopes of finding a forever family. This book does contain sexual content and may not be suitable for all readers, but overall this was a fun read and hard to put down.

Through these people, and the determination of Detective Fellowes, she rediscovers her courage, self, and a reason to risk love again.

My Review:

I really liked this story I felt like it was original. I feel like lately so many stories are the same just change the name and location and that was not the case with this story. I love how the author kept it simple with a twist. I loved Natalie while she made a bad choices she had the biggest heart and would not stop at anything to help someone whether she knew them or not. Randy man he was fun character he was skeptical but that came with the job for sure. His sister was also a fun character. I really felt like I was catching up with friends and not reading a fiction story. Overall if you can’t tell yet I loved this story and it was worth the read. Also the author kept it clean so it would be suitable for all readers.

Craig’s life is in Portland, Annie is bound to Marietta. Can they trust themselves and each other enough to open their hearts and let love in?

My Review:

This is a new to me author and I wasn’t really sure what to expect, however that being said I thought this book was a really fun read. The author had a way of making you feel like you were catching up with friends and that you were right there in the mixx of all the fun and drama. Annie was some one who spoke her mind and she held nothing back, she was strong independent and had a what felt like a heart of gold. She as truly a fun character to read about. Craig was more reserved, I feel like what summed him up was He worked hard, played hard and it was hard for him to open his heart up. I will say from page one this book is very sexually charged and may not be suitable for all readers. Overall this was quick read and a fun book that really draws you in.
