The Amish Secret Wish Laura V. Hilton

2 out of 5 stars

Description:

Fall in love with an award-winning author’s charming Amish romance about a woman with a secret pen pal—perfect for fans of Rachel J. Good and Marta Perry. Waitress Hallie Brunstetter has a secret: she writes a popular column for her Amish paper under the pen name GHB. When Hallie receives a letter from a reader asking to become her pen pal, she reluctantly agrees. She can’t help but be drawn to the compassionate stranger, never expecting him to show up in Hidden Springs looking for GHB . . . or for him to be quite so handsome in real life. But after losing her beau in a tragic accident, Hallie won’t risk her heart—or her secrets—again.
If Kiah didn’t already feel so connected to GHB, Hallie would be a perfect wife—and it seems most of Hidden Springs’s would-be matchmakers agree! Though Hallie is peculiarly opposed to uncovering GHB’s true identity, she understands Kiah almost as well as his mystery pen pal. The longer he searches for GHB, the more Kiah finds himself hoping Hallie will be holding the pen that first captured his heart. But will Hallie ever trust Kiah with the truth about her identity . . . and her feelings for him?

My Review:

I was not a fan of this book, I found the characters to be immature and childish like yet the author seemed to also put them into adult situations that just didn’t seem to fit very well with there immaturity. I can honestly say the only person I like in the whole book was the Bishop and Joy they seem to have the most common sense out of the bunch. in the end of the story I was like really that’s it. It just seemed like the author rushed it at the end and left it up to the read to tie it into a nice bow. Overall this book was not for me I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The Cowboy’s Vow Leah Vale

3 out of 4 stars

Description:

He lives his life by the book. She wants to throw it out.

After promising his dying mother he’d protect his family and their rodeo rough stock legacy, Ian Neisson has devoted his life to keeping the Wright Ranch thriving. So when an ambitious FBI agent arrives in town implying Ian’s grandfather might be involved in a modern-day rustling ring, Ian, true to his word, steps up to help with her investigation in order to keep his family safe. His heart, however, is in danger from the green-eyed beauty with secrets of her own.

The last thing FBI Special Agent Jessie Martin wants is to go undercover working closely with a cowboy. She’s had her fill of cowboy charm and empty promises, and Ian Neisson, despite being the handsome poster boy for the proverbial Cowboy Way, spells trouble. But she’s a professional looking for advancement, and Ian is a way into the tight rodeo community. If only he didn’t threaten her resolve to forever leave her boots, roots and all things cowboy behind.

My Review:
I thought this story was cute, but completely predictable as well. I liked Jessie she was a fighter and didn’t need anyone but wanted someone in her life but it just didn’t seem possible with her job. I like Ian he was a bit of a mystery but his family came first and he would do anything to protect them no matter the cost. I always love reading about small towns you never know what you are going to get and I felt that way with this book as well. In the end do you find out what happens yes but I also feel like there was some questions that just seemed like I needed to know more. This book does have adult content and may not be suitable for all ages. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

My Review:
Y’all I can not with this book. First off Grandma Dotty and the kissing sisters are back!!!! I mean you know you are in for a laugh with Grandma Dotty forsake. I was laughing through at least 75% of this book. I really Liked Lily she had a good head on her shoulders and a big heart to help those who needed a hand up, she just came off the pages as sweet but a fighter. Jud grew on me I can’t say a ton on why since you have to read to figure that out other wise I would be giving away to much about the overall book. I love the closeness of the sisters and how no matter where they are they are there for each other. I hope to one day be like Dotty and endless bucket list and a sassy, sweet mouth with who knows what’s going to come out next. I know this is not the end of these sister, and I am so excited to see where the author takes us and what kind of “trouble” Dotty gets into next. I received a complimentary copy of this book. My Review:I

thought this story was cute overall. I liked Sophie I felt like she was a fighter and was faced with so much, but I also felt her family never really got her. I liked Aiden a little bit I felt like sometimes he came off whiney and whoa is me type attitude, which became annoying. I loved the small town feel of this book, and the small town characters they were so fun. Overall this book was a fun read and the author kept the book clean so it suitable for all readers, its also completely predictable.  I received a complimentary copy of this book. My Review:I

really liked this book. I told my husband I needed to finish this book because I needed to solve the case. Thats how it felt that you were solving the case right along with Jane, Reid and Jane’s staff. I really Liked Jane she was a fighter and she struggled but had no problem letting it out there and question her own faith. I liked how the author didn’t make everything seem so “perfect” but showed that they struggled even in the good times. I also liked the author kept is cleaned and a good read for all. Overall this book is so worth the read! I received a complimentary copy of this book. USA TODAY Bestselling Author Mary Alford

From Harlequin Love Inspired Suspense: Courage. Danger. Faith.

My thoughts on the book:

This author never disappoints, and she sure disappoint with this book. She keeps you guessing from the beginning to the end. I really liked Faith she was a fighter and would stop at nothing to get what needed to be done, done. I liked Eli to he and his brothers jumped in to help Faith and her family at all cost no questions asked. The author did an amazing job with Vincent, I was so ready to loose my mind over his madness. Overall I would Highly recommend this book I really enjoyed it and it kept me on the edge of my seat. I also liked that the author kept this clean.

Only a Cowboy Will Do AJ Pine

4 out of 5 stars

Description:

A small-town woman is swept off her feet by a caring stranger in this charming western romance from a “fabulous storyteller” (Carolyn Brown, New York Times bestselling author).

Forty candles, and one for luck. Jenna Owens wants one thing for her birthday this year: a fairy-tale ending of her own and a little relaxation at a quaint California ranch. What she didn’t want was to get caught in a storm on her way to Meadow Valley. Or to get stuck with a ridiculously hot, too-charming-for-his-own-good cowboy—one who makes Jenna reconsider her “I don’t date younger guys” rule. But a little vacation flirtation might be just what she needs.

Colt Morgan isn’t interested in long-term relationships. Not since his last one crashed and burned after his fiancée found out he wanted a big family. So when he learns that Jenna has a list of items to accomplish on her trip—including having fling—Colt is all too happy to oblige. Yet the more he and Jenna get to know each other, the more Colt starts to wonder if maybe they have a chance at a real future. But when Jenna’s past upends everything Colt thought he wanted, are all bets off? Or will they find a way to make both their dreams come true?

Includes the bonus novella Sealed with a Kiss by Melinda Curtis!

My Review:
So the storyline was cute. If you can relate in any kind of loss or
infertility then this will also be a little emotional as well. Overall it was a cute story, two broken people searching for their place to belong in this world. However I did feel that Colt had this constant guard up throughout the whole book and that the author almost seemed too hard to play it down. In some parts I just found it annoying. If I am to be honest I guess that was the case for Jenna as well but she seemed more free spirit and open then he did, she more or less wore her heart on her sleeve, which made her more relatable. There is sexual content throughout so it may not be suitable for all readers. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

But when her meddling aunt’s first choice of a husband for her turns out to be Emma’s last choice—Pine Creek’s most notorious bachelor—Emma grows desperate. Which is why he steps in to claim that Emma cannot wed anyone else, as she is currently courting him. Yes, the small lie leaves him feeling guilty, but Levi’s hope is that if he can win back the beautiful Emma’s trust, he can also win over her heart…for real.

But can a courtship that began just for show ever blossom into a true romance that could save both their futures?

My Review:

This was a cute love story. I did however find that sometimes the story dragged a little. The book is predictable but the story overall was fun to read. I feel like when you read an Amish story be prepared to have lots of food talked about, this story is very much the same. It will either leave you hungry or your mouth watering. I loved Sadie and Ezekiel; they just seemed to have a goodness about them among all the loss in their lives. I loved Amelia and I hope that one day there is a follow up story for her. She just seems like a kindred spirit. I liked how the author did keep this a clean read and I find it suitable for all. I would say overall this book is worth the read! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Can two people with one foot out the door settle down for love?

My Review:

What I like reading about Marietta is it feels like you’re going home again. It feels like you are catching up with friends and I feel that very much in this book. I mean who doesn’t love a good cowboy love story right. I liked Wes but he seemed so lost that I kind of felt bad for him. Molly was such a breath of fresh air and so jolly, I will say at first I thought of her as a high maintenance princess and thought oh my she’s not going to be an annoying character is she. Newsflash she’s not, she’s so kind and you can see she truly just wants to help those she loves! This book does have sexual content in it so it may not be suitable for all. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Hours to Kill Susan Sleeman

5 out of 5 stars

Description:

Just as Homeland Security Agent Addison Leigh reaches the pinnacle of her cyber investigation into a firearms smuggling ring, she’s attacked and left for dead. Her estranged husband, ICE Agent Mack Jordan, is notified that she’s at the hospital in a coma. He may have let his past military trauma ruin their short marriage, but she never gave up on their relationship, and he remains her next of kin.

Mack rushes to her bedside, where he promises to hunt down the man who attacked her. Mack failed her once when he bailed on their marriage, and he’s not about to let her down again. But when she wakes up in the hospital, she remembers neither the attack nor ever being married to Mack. And when a second attempt to take her life is made, it’s clear something very sinister is going on, and Mack and Addison are in for the ride of their lives.

My thoughts on the book:

Y’all the Red team is back!!!This book did not disappoint I really like that the team is back and fighting for the good of the US. I loved Addy she was a fighter and no matter what she faced she did it with gumption and head on, never taking her own safety into thought just wanting to protect those she cares for. I liked Mack but my heart also broke for him I could never imagine loving someone so much to have to let them “go” and not having them love you back even for a short time. Mack faced so much but he also was a fighter and he was a leader that everyone seem to respect. I don’t think there was a character of the good guys that I didn’t like this in book, it was nice to catch up with Sean, Kiley and Cam. I liked Harris she was a tough person but got the job done. I really hope this is not the last of this series and there is more to come. I just can’t seem to get enough. I liked that author kept this book clean and keeps you on the edge of your seat. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
