The Reality of Everything Rebecca Yarros

 Description:

Two years after the man she loved was killed in Afghanistan, Morgan Bartley is trying to put the pieces of her life back together. The reno on her dilapidated beach house in the Outer Banks might be just the distraction she needs to keep her debilitating anxiety attacks at bay and begin to heal her heart…if she can ignore the ridiculously handsome guy next door.

At twenty-eight, single-dad Jackson Montgomery’s life revolves around his five-year-old daughter and his job as a search-and-rescue pilot for the coast guard. He’s no stranger to saving a damsel in distress, and though his gorgeous new neighbor is clearly in distress, she’s no damsel. She’s stubborn as hell with walls a mile thick, and the dog tags hanging from her rearview mirror give him a pretty good clue as to why.

It doesn’t matter that their attraction is undeniable—she swore she’d never fall for another pilot, let alone a military man. There are some wounds time can’t heal, and some fears too consuming to conquer.

She’s a barely breathing heartbreak on the edge of recovery.
He’s a crash waiting to happen.
Together they could have it all…if they can endure the coming storm.

My thoughts on the book:

This is a new author to me so I wasn’t sure what to think at first, however the author did not disappoint. The first thing I did noticed is the book is told in a first person point of view. What I liked was that although told in a FPP the author told the story from both characters point of view so there was no way you are going to miss a thing. Hands down I loved Fin what an amazing little girl with lots of sass. I however did not like Brie and was glad the author made her story short. This book is very powerful, intense, and super emotional the author did an amazing job and getting to the heart of the matter and totally drawing you in leaving you wanting me. I loved how no matter what Morgan faced Jackson was going to have her back, he truly was a hero. This book does have curse words and sex so may not be suitable for all readers. Overall this book was amazing and I truly could not put this down, when you grab this book make sure you have a box of tissue close by. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

The Roommate Problem Mariah Ankenman

Description:

To Moira “Mo” Rossi, the world is full of sunshine, goodness, and happily ever afters—so of course she figures finding the perfect roomie will be easy. But after four creepos who ask if benefits come with the room and one woman who claims she’s a vampire, Mo is officially desperate. So what if the guy she agrees to on paper ends up being the Derrick Downer to her Sally Sunshine in person? She’s the queen of making lemonade.

August Porter expected his new roommate Mo to be like him—neat, practical, and oh yeah: male. Not the outrageous hippie with more stars in her eyes than there are in the sky. She’s infuriating, exasperating, his exact opposite in every possible way…and the bright ray of sunshine he didn’t even realize his gray world was missing. Suddenly, falling into bed with his roommate isn’t the worst idea he’s ever heard. Just falling in love with her is.

But one of them is keeping a secret that could turn their opposite attraction into utter disaster.

My thoughts on the book:

This book should have been named pineapple pizza and protein shakes!!! If you want to know why read the book you will quickly understand . At first I liked August but he quickly got on my nerves he came across whiny and I was so over him and felt that Mo could do better. Mo is hands down someone who was easy to love social butterfly comes to mind immediately and she’s just a bright spot in everyone’s life who she encounters. She was so fun to read about I swear I could see her as a friend if she wasn’t fictional, she totally made this book. This book does have curse words and adult situations so may not be suitable for all readers. Over all fun read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. When he starts falling for her, the agent’s death seems an impossible obstacle–but it’s also the last thing he needs to think about. As the terrorist plot targets Kiley’s family, the two are pushed to the breaking point in a race to save countless lives.

My thoughts on the book:

This book was so captivating I really enjoyed this book the author has a way of drawing you in from page one and keeping you there till the very end. I loved Kiley she jumped in with both feet and would stop at nothing or let nothing stop her from finding the truth. Evan he was more in your face, but but he also sought the truth and would stop at nothing to find it even f it meant he had to come face to face with the past that he was ready to let go of a long time ago I really enjoyed reading this book and this group of characters and I really can’t wait to see where the author goes next. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Piecing It All Together Leslie Gould

Description:

When Savannah Mast’s fiance dumps her a week before their wedding, she flees California for the safety of her Amish grandmother’s farm near Nappanee, Indiana. She’s not planning on staying long but becomes unexpectedly entangled in the search for a missing Amish girl. She can’t leave–especially not when her childhood friend Tommy Miller is implicated as a suspect.

When Savannah accompanies her grandmother to Plain Patterns, a nearby quilt shop, the owner and local historian, Jane Berger, relates a tale about another woman’s disappearance back in the 1800s that has curious echoes to today.

Inspired by the story, Savannah does all she can to find the Amish girl and clear Tommy’s name. But when her former fiance shows up, begging her to return to California and marry him after all, she must choose between accepting the security of what he has to offer or continuing the complicated legacy of her family’s faith.

My thoughts on the book:

What a powerful read, or should I say two stories. This book does have a story about Savannah and Jude and the a story about Emma and Judah, Emma’s story is from the 1800’s and it totally connected to Savannah so give it a chance. I will be honest I wasn’t sure what to think at first but the read was totally worth it. I really liked Savannah and Emma they were both very strong women just looking to where they belonged. This story is about family, forgiveness, and finding where you belong. This was a book I could not put down and was such a refreshing story. This is a good clean read and so well worth it I can’t wait to see what happens next in the small town of Nappanee. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

USA TODAY Bestselling Author

My thoughts on the book:

Y’all the Blackwell’s are back, and they have sisters!!! I am so excited about this series and this is book one and the author did not disappoint at all. I am really liked Lily she struggles with a slight disability but she did not let it stop her and she seems like she was only able to take so much from the men in her life. She seemed like the hero to me in the story. I liked Connor as well but in some moments I did find him whinny, but he has a big heart and will do anything for those he loves and cares about. Now Danny I wanted to punch him not a fan of him at all. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait for more from these sisters and Rudy and Big E, I have no clue what those two are up to but it can only get more interesting. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Desperate to escape, she begs her magazine editor for the first assignment out of town. Garrett dreamed that the article would boost his business to the next level, yet Lilou appears to be his worst nightmare.

But Lilou didn’t make a name for herself by giving up, and soon both she and Garrett realize they’re in for more than they bargained for.

My thoughts on the book:

I really enjoy this book, it was so hard to put down. I really felt like I was catching up with friends, I only read one other book in this series and I am so ready to go back and read the whole series. I felt like I was right there in the story, the author did a good job at catching the readers attention and drawing you in and describing everything down to a “T” with out being too wordy. I really liked Garrett he had no idea what he was getting into but he was ready for the adventure and was a good sport about it. I really liked Lilou at first I wasn’t so much sure about her I thought oh my a snobby princess but boy was I wrong, she’s sassy and she is independent ready to take on the world. This book was totally worth the read and you can’t go wrong. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

Paradise Cove Jenny Holiday

Description:

Dr. Nora Walsh has just been dumped in spectacular fashion, making it the perfect time for a major life change. She figures taking over the medical practice in tiny Matchmaker Bay for a couple of years will help her get over her broken heart, and then she can head back to the big city. But when the first man she sees looks like a superhero god, she wonders if maybe there’s something to small-town living after all. Jake Ramsey also has a broken heart — one he never expects to heal. He doesn’t need people anyway and is content hiding out in his secluded cottage on the beach. But after helping Nora with a medical emergency, he finds himself opening up to the witty, warmhearted doctor. Soon the local matchmakers are working overtime to pair them off, and Jake begins to wonder if his campaign to get Nora to stay is for the town or because he can’t bear the thought of her leaving.

My thoughts on the book:

I mean who doesn’t like a life reset after a terrible break up, thats exactly what Nora was doing with moving even if it was only temporary. I liked Nora she was feisty, independent and ready to take on the town of Moonflower bay. I really like Dr. Walsh SR I could see what a pistol she was and where Nora and her sister got it. I had a love hate relationship with Jake, I like him sometime and the stuff he faced was very deep and I could relate, but then he would do something and he came off as annoying and I was ready to just punch him. Oh my Kerri even her part was small but oh my the author had a way of Kerri getting right into your heart as well. I loved the closeness of the community and the friends and how they would do just about anything for each other. I did feel like there were a few parts of the book that did drag which was hard but over all the story was good and a twist on a love story. There is sex in this story so may not be suitable for all. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

A Cowboy for Keeps Laura Drake

Description:From a “fabulous new voice in romantic fiction” (NYT bestselling author Lael Miller): an arrogant cowboy meets a headstrong woman determined to take custody of his niece, only to realize that she may be the family he was always searching for.
There’s not much that could rattle a cowboy like Reese St. James. But when his twin brother dies in a car accident, Reese is stunned to discover he has a six-month old niece, Sawyer. Wanting to make up for lost time, Reese heads down to Unforgiven, New Mexico, to bring her home. He doesn’t plan on Sawyer’s guardian giving him any trouble, but the intriguing, independent woman is turning out to be more than he bargained for.
Lorelei West had given up hope of having a family of her own until her sister’s tragic death brought little Sawyer into her life. And now there’s no way she’s going to let Reese take her away. Lorelei knows hotshot, good-looking cowboys like him — she’s dated enough of them — and she intends to stand her ground. Yet the more time Reese and Lorelei spend together, the harder it is to deny the attraction building between them. But opening their hearts to a baby is one thing — can they also open their hearts to the possibility of a happily-ever-after?

My thoughts on the book:

Let me start off that in the end this book really turned out way better then I expected and I end up liking it in the end for sure. Now that being said this book is told in a first person point of view. The author did include both characters so that was a plus that most authors who write FPV don’t do. I however felt that in the beginning of the book both Reese and Lorelei came off as very whinny which at first came as a turn off, but hang in there it gets better. The storyline was really good and I did feel it go to the heart for sure. There is adult situations in this book so it may not be suitable for all. I did read the first books two of this series so it was nice catching up with Austin, Carly, Nevada and Fish, I still have to say Nevada is one of my favorite characters thus far in this series but in this book Carly took a very close second, they both are friends every girl needs in there life someone who will always have your back no matter what. Yall over all I would totally re-read this book it was worth it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

He can’t imagine spending another season without Emma by his side. Can he convince her to give their love a second chance before the summer draws to a close?

Includes the bonus novella A Fairytale Bride!

My thoughts on the book:

I really enjoy this author so I was excited to get this book and sit down and read it.  I really feel like this book was about healing and forgiveness and finding your true self. I really liked Emma she wanted to have it all together but she still wanted to please people as well so she really was looking to find herself. She really had her heart broken in the past and turning 30 has her really thinking and making hard decisions. Jack was easy to fall in love with. I liked how the author didn’t try and make the characters perfect. I liked reading again about Dawanda and her cappuccino readings you truly never know what’s going to come out of her mouth next. There were so many fun sub characters that I want to know more about and read their stories. I love how the story draws you in and keeps you going to the end. There is adult talk but over all this book was totally worth the read and you can’t go wrong.  I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”

Her Second Chance Cowboy Makenna Lee

Description:

After his mother died in childbirth, and witnessing his father’s destruction at the loss of true love, James sticks to casual affairs. Marriage and children are risks he won’t take.

Reese Turner visits Cypress Creek, Texas, to complete a photo assignment for National Geographic and buy back her grandparents’ cottage. After disastrous romances, she’s sworn off men to focus on her career. Marriage and the babies she longs for can wait. When she runs into an old flame, she decides she can live out a fantasy, then leave town to pursue her dreams.

But love doesn’t play by the rules…

My thoughts on the book:

This is a new author for me. When I first start this book I will say I was not thrilled. I felt like every book I seem to be reading, however I hung in there and that changed for me really quick and I really start to enjoy it and be drawn into the story. I really like Reese she’s got a good head on her should she speaks her mind but she leads with her big heart on her sleeve. I liked James I felt like he had some growing up to do but he needs the right person in his life to help direct him in that path. The two together were just seemed natural relationship didn’t seem forced. I adored James’ grandparents they just seem to be what grandparents are made of. They really added a huge element to the story but played such a small part if that makes sense. I so want to read more about Finn from the get go I felt like I need to know more of his story. This book does have adult situations and language. Overall I would totally re-read this book again it was just that good. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.”
