Jingle All the Way Debbie Macomber

Description:

Love can transform even the best-laid plans in this heartfelt Christmas novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author and the queen of Christmas stories, Debbie Macomber.

Trapped in the middle of five siblings, Everly Lancaster always had big dreams. Now a top real-estate executive, Everly finds her work is her life, leaving no space for anything (or anyone) else. Sensing her stress, Everly’s boss insists she take December off. At first, a month away seems crazy—how will the company survive without her? But Everly’s mother convinces her otherwise. She deserves a vacation—plus, when she returns, she’ll have no excuse to skip family Christmas like she did last year.

But after her vengeful assistant books a guided cruise in the Amazon instead of the luxury beach vacation she expected, Everly is horrified to realize that she’s about to spend the next two weeks trapped—with no Wi-Fi!—in the rain forest. Not even Asher Adams, the ship’s charming naturalist, can convince Everly that the trip will be unforgettable. Slowly but surely, she realizes he is right: the sights are spectacular. And with each passing day, Everly’s relationship with Asher deepens, forcing her to take a long, hard look at her priorities.

Everly and Asher begin to see magic in the possibility of a life together. But as the cruise nears its end, and Everly’s family Christmas approaches, both must decide if love is worth the risk. A merry surprise may be in store in Debbie Macomber’s newest holiday delight.

My thoughts on the book:

I liked this book I mean who doesn’t love a good Christmas book. I liked how this book the main character Everly is reminded to slow down and find herself and try and find what’s really important in life. I liked Asher at first he came off a little mysterious at first. I liked how he was out going and so many people loved him and was willing to following him. I loved how even though Everly took everything as it came and nothing seem to hold her back. I really enjoyed the value of family in this book and how it really puts you in the Christmas spirit. I loved how the author kept this a good clean read and is suitable for all. Overall this is a good and quick read and you won’t be disappointed. I received a complimentary copy of this book. A Family for Christmas by Nola Cross

 Description:

He never thought he’d have a real family Christmas…

For the past eight years, Bill Smith has been unable to set down roots. But he never forgot the magical night he spent with an auburn-haired beauty in Last Stand, Texas. When she finally tracked him down, he was more than happy to donate a kidney to AJ, the son he never knew he had. But now that AJ is better, Bill wants more time with him and his mother. He wants a family.

Annie Burleson can’t help but be grateful to this almost-stranger for saving AJ’s life. Still, she’s a little wary. AJ has already been through so much—what if Bill leaves again? And with Christmas in full swing, it’s difficult to discern which emotions are festive and which are forever.

As Annie and Bill’s lives collide, their mutual love for AJ makes this more than a marriage of convenience. But is it enough to give them the family Christmas they all deserve?

My thoughts on the book:

This story was super cute and I liked AJ he was super cute. I had not read the first book in this series but Jade and Cash from book one do make an appearance in this book and you can catch up with them. Bill has a huge heart but also stand offish since he has been through so much in his life. Annie also was standoffish but at some points in the book she came off very immature. The story was very predictable over all so no big surprises. There is sex in this book and may not be suitable for all, over all this book is a quick read and a cute story. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

The Christmas Table Donna VanLiere

Description:From Donna VanLiere, the New York Times bestselling author of The Christmas Hope series comes another heartwarming, inspirational story for the holidays, The Christmas Table.

In June 1972, John Creighton determines to build his wife Joan a kitchen table. His largest project to date had been picture frames but he promises to have the table ready for Thanksgiving dinner. Inspired to put something delicious on the table, Joan turns to her mother’s recipes she had given to Joan when she and John married.

In June 2012, Lauren Mabrey discovers she’s pregnant. Gloria, Miriam, and the rest of her friends at Glory’s Place begin to pitch in, helping Lauren prepare their home for the baby. On a visit to the local furniture builder, Lauren finds a table that he bought at a garage sale but has recently refinished. Once home, a drawer is discovered under the table which contains a stack of recipe cards. Growing up in one foster home after another, Lauren never learned to cook and is fascinated as she reads through the cards. Personal notes have been written on each one from the mother to her daughter and time and again Lauren wonders where they lived, when they lived, and in a strange way, she feels connected to this mother and her daughter and wants to make the mother proud.

The story continues to from 1972 to 2012 as Joan battles breast cancer and Lauren learns to cook, preparing for the baby’s arrival. As Christmas nears, can Lauren unlock the mystery of the table, and find the peace she’s always longed for?

My thoughts on the book:

I have never read anything by this author, I saw the cover and totally grabbed it. WOW!!! I could not put it down. This story is what Christmas is all about. This was an amazing read. Yes there are two stories being told but its not hard to keep up with what is going on. Both stories need to be told in order for it all to make sense. I loved Gloria a Mariam the relationship between those two will have you laughing so hard. There really wasn’t a character that I didn’t like. The author keeps this a good clean read and seriously oh so good you can’t go wrong. I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion

USA TODAY Bestselling Author

My thoughts on the book:

I love this series so far and this book did not disappoint either. I love the Blackwell brothers and I love how nothing ever shocks them with their grandfather Big E so when Peyton is forced to go to Montana nothing that happens really shocks them. I think what was different with this story was with Peyton she remembers her biological father where her other sisters do not. I liked Matteo who has a big heart and who’s past was not always that great but he seem to rise above and would do anything for those he loved. He is stubborn as a mule and sometimes you did want to just smack some sense into him but he was not the only hero in this story. The author through a little mystery into this story and if made you kind of keep guessing who was the “one’ I think the really hero in this story was Gino he may be small but he was hard not to love and hard not to really enjoy. Over all this story is a good clean read which is suitable for all readers. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

For those who are content sensitive: this book contains non-graphic scenes and descriptions of physical and sexual assault.
My thoughts on the book:

I love this authors books she always knocks in out of the park. With this new series I was so excited for book two and Im glad I got the chance to read it. It was amazing it was action packed for sure. There seem to be a lot of moving parts to this book which makes it seem like a lot is going on at first but in the end the puzzle pieces fall into place and it all makes sense in the end. I liked that the author kept it a clean read and that literally keeps you guess up until the end. I can’t wait to see where the author takes the team next.  I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley. I was under no obligation to post a review and have given my honest opinion.

A Very Merry Match Melinda Curtis

 Description:

This Christmas, all Mayor Kevin Hadley wants is to give his five-year-old son whatever his heart desires. Only Tad has fallen head over holly for his pretty, sweet-as-sugarplum teacher. When attraction sparks between Kevin and Mary Margaret, the single dad thinks she may be the answer to his and his son’s dreams. But after Mary Margaret reluctantly turns him down, Kevin decides it’s time to embark on a new campaign — one for Mary Margaret’s heart.
Mary Margaret Sneed usually spends her holiday baking and caroling with her students. Yet this year, she’s swapped shortbread and sleigh bells for a second job to pay off her late husband’s debts. Mary Margaret would love to go tree trimming with Kevin and his son, but she won’t risk his political future with her controversial side gig. Only the town’s meddling matchmakers have determined there’s nothing a little mistletoe can’t fix . . . and if the Widows Club has their way, Mary Margaret and Kevin may just get the best Christmas gift of all this year.
Includes a bonus novella by Hope Ramsay!

My thoughts on the book:

I have always enjoyed books by this author, this one is probably not a favorite of mine. I loved Edith she was hands down my favorite it was really hard to not laugh at her antics, you never really knew what was going to come out of her mouth or what she was going to do next. Mary Margaret was also a sweet soul who faced a ton and seemed to just need to catch a break from it all. I was not a fan of Kevin I felt like Kevin wanted a meek schoolmarm or an accessory for his arm as he started his political career instead of the love of his life, I felt like Mary Margaret deserved better. Over all it was nice to catch up with the characters in book one it was a nice read anytime you add children to a book you will never know were it can go and if you are following this series then read this book too. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Amish Christmas Twins Shelley Shepard Gray, Rachel J. Good, Loree Lough

Description:

In these heartwarming, faith-affirming stories, three Amish families face the joys, and challenges, of the holidays—with fruitful results . . .

THE CHRISTMAS NOT-WISH
New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Shelley Shepard Gray
When the foster parents they’ve cautiously grown to love discover they’re expecting, orphaned Roy and Jemima Fisher, ages six and seven, are secretly devastated by the certainty they’ll be given up. With Christmas around the corner, their only wish is for new foster parents as nice as Mr. and Mrs. Kurtz. Meanwhile, the Kurtzes have wishes of their own—and with faith, they all may be gifted with twice the blessings . . .

NEW BEGINNINGS * Rachel J. Good
Still grieving the loss of her husband and unborn baby in an accident several months ago, Elizabeth Yoder is oblivious to her neighbor Luke Bontrager’s deepening affection for her. But while she bleakly faces Christmas alone, it’s Luke who reminds her it’s the season for giving. And when Elizabeth donates her handmade baby clothes to New Beginnings, a home for teen moms, she soon finds her gifts repaid beyond measure, with Luke’s love—and new beginnings of their own . . .

TWINS TIMES TWO * Loree Lough
What happens when two secretive, stubborn people find themselves thrown together to help four rascally youngsters—twins times two!—create a Christmas surprise for their parents? Mischief and mayhem, and just maybe . . . love!

My thoughts on the book:
The Christmas not Wish
-Before you sit down and start reading grab a box of tissues you will thank you me later. This story was so guy wrenching, two children looking for they belonged and wanting nothing more then to have a family who loves them. EA and Will want a family and they get a surprise but they love these two like no other. This story was the perfect Christmas story it just draws you in and before you know it it’s over. So so good!

New Beginnings– When faced with loosing someone you love is hard enough but during the holidays is even harder. Elizabeth faced just that and she was trying her hardest to continue to tackle life as if threw her for a loop. Luke has always pined for Elizabeth and if that meant helping her and loving her from a far he was going to do it even if it killed him inside. I like Luke for that reason he just seemed to have this big heart of gold and was whiling to be there for his neighbors no matter who that was. This was a tough story to read if you ever loss someone close because you can truly feel the emotions, but you really can’t go wrong with it either.

Twins Times Two– This story was kind of a lighthearted story in away compared to the other two stories in the book. While Abagail dealt with loss she was healing and trying to make amends with the past. I loved the twin brothers man what kind of mischief those four could get into, and boy did they add some laughter to this book. I like Jube he was a sweet spirit who just left you wanting to do more for others. I like this story a lot it really did remind you what Christmas was all about.

Overall this book was a fun read emotional but also lighthearted. This book is a good clean read and suitable for all ages. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Christmas Kisses with My Cowboy Diana Palmer, Marina Adair, Kate Pearce

Description:

This Christmas, the best kind of trouble comes in threes: Three bestselling authors. Three stories of holiday romance. And three cowboys who are ready for love—whether they know it yet or not . . .

MISTLETOE COWBOY * Diana Palmer
Horse whisperer Parker doesn’t drink, smoke, or gamble, and he doesn’t have much to do with women, either. Until he meets winsome widow Katy, and her sweet child. Could Christmas kisses under the mistletoe bring the handsome wrangler the gift of his very own family?

“No one beats this author for sensual anticipation.”
—Rave Reviews

BLAME IT ON THE MISTLETOE * Marina Adair
To claim his slice of the family ranch, Texas Ranger Noah is forced back to Tucker’s Crossing. All he expects to find is a tractor load of painful memories—until a holiday storm, a power outage—and perhaps the magic of Christmas—deliver him to rescue an intriguing woman named Faith. But just who’s rescuing whom?

“Marina Adair is a breath of fresh air.”
New York Times bestselling author Darynda Jones

MISTLETOE DETOUR * Kate Pearce
When Morgan Valley rancher Ted Baker gets out his tow truck to pick up a snowbound driver, he doesn’t expect to find his old school friend Veronica on the lam with her pet pig—much less true love—just in time for Christmas . . .

“Captures the spirit of the West.”
Booklist on The Maverick Cowboy

My thoughts on the book:

Mistletoe Cowboy Was not a fan of this story. I did like Teddie she was a fun character with a lot of spit fire and drive to learn as much as she can and make something of herself even at a young age. I was not a fan of Parker he came off as whoa is me I’m a victim. The author has him as this ex military guy, with smarts like no other, but he comes off as a whimp and kind of a jerk. I feel like Katy could have done way better. I was sickened by the fact that it seemed Katy could not even stand up for her own daughter and she tolerated the behavior of her so called attorney. There was no curse words one adult scene over all a clean read just not the read for me.

Blame it on the mistletoe Faith has a brick wall built around her heart an no one was getting through no matter what. She would also do anything to protect her nephew at all cost. Noah on the other hand was cocky and ready to tear down the wall Faith built if she would only let him in. Noah had issues of his own but he seemed to have a good heart, and really craved the closeness of his family. Now Faith my heart broke for her and for everything she faced and loss. She was a fighter and it was hard not to root for her in this story. There were sexual innuendoes throughout this story no strong language over all I did like this one over the first one.

Mistletoe Detour I was not a huge fan of this story. I found both Ted and Veronica very immature being the fact they were in their 30’s they acted a lot more like they were in their early 20’s at best. I did like the authors sense of humor with the pig and his name kind of hard not to laugh at that every time the big made his appearance. There was adult content in this story so it may not be suitable for all readers

.Over all this set of books was not really my cup of tea. I liked Blame it on the Mistletoe the most it seemed to really get to the heart of Christmas over all. There is adult content in every one of these stories so may not be suitable for all readers. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A Heartfelt Christmas Promise Nancy Naigle

 Description:

A perfect gift that captures the spirit of the season, USA Today bestselling author Nancy Naigle’s A Heartfelt Christmas Promise celebrates the holidays, small-town traditions, and the generosity of love between two lost souls who find everything they ever wanted in each other.

Vanessa Larkin was supposed to be spending Christmas in Paris, France on a business trip she hoped to enjoy as a working vacation. Instead, she’s been assigned to Fraser Hills, North Carolina—home of the Best Fruitcake in the USA—to convert her company’s property into warehouse space and shut down Porter’s, the fruitcake factory. Offering retirement packages and selling locals on new job opportunities may not spread holiday cheer, but Vanessa believes she’s helping secure the town’s future.

Mike Marshall’s family founded Porter’s. For decades, the factory served as the lifeblood of the community until his grandfather sold the business to a Chicago corporation. The sale cost the town its independence—and the Marshalls their family ties. A horse farmer, Mike was never involved with his grandfather’s company, but still felt Fraser Hills lost part of its identity. And as a widower raising a teenage daughter, he’s suffered enough losses in one lifetime. News of the factory’s closing means losing another piece of the town’s legacy.

Far from the skyscrapers and rapid pace of the city, Vanessa finds herself enjoying the easygoing rhythms of rural living. With Mike as her guide, she learns to appreciate the simple pleasures found in shared holiday festivities among friends. Fraser Hills is a town she is growing to love—and Mike is someone she is falling in love with. Now all Vanessa needs is a Christmas miracle to give her newfound friends and home a gift they’ll cherish for many New Years to come.

My thoughts on the book:

If you need a book to put you in the mood for Christmas grab this one. This is not necessarily about love but about finding family, finding where you belong and finding yourself all while helping a small town grow. Vanessa was ready to tackle her dreams and be able to buy the house of her dreams but having a wrench thrown in she tackles that head on too. I loved her fighting spirit and how she did not have a hard heart after all she faced. Mike was one person that he seemed quick to judge with out knowing all the facts which sometimes was annoying, but the more you get to know him the more you understand him, I loved the animals in the story and how the author had a way of making their personality’s shine off the pages. I loved Misty and her heart of Gold she truly was such a huge wonderful part of this story. Anna was also a big favorite of mine she too was just a breath of fresh air while reading this book. Over all this book was a clean read and will totally put you in the mood for the upcoming holidays. I received a complimentary copy of this book. .My thoughts on the book:

I thought this was a really cute story, it will totally put you in the mood for the holidays that’s for sure. With everything that’s going on in the world right now this book was like a breathe of fresh air for sure. I loved Teddy omg what a huge personality that just shined off the pages and it was really hard not to just fall in love with him, Christmas through the eyes of a child. I loved Mallory she was a saint and just kept fighting for what she believed in. I really was not a huge fan of Gabriel he just was a bit of a jerk to me and I felt like Mallory just deserved better. There is talk of adult situations but never detailed. Overall this was a fun read and I could not put it down. I received a complimentary copy of this book.
