Delilah’s not only as talented as she is beautiful, she’s impossible to fool. Or forget.

Can Jock win her heart with his secret recipe or are they only destined to battle it out in the kitchen?

My thoughts on the book:

I really liked this book it was so cute, the characters felt really relatable which is so fun. I did feel at the beginning Delilah came off a little whiney but the more I read and the more her story was told she became less whiney and more understood. I liked the push and pull with Jock their personalities made it fun. The book for the most part was clean there was one scene with sexual content but over all the author kept it fun and simple. I really enjoyed tis fun love story and I really enjoyed the family factor in this fun story as well. I loved Delilah’s Meemaa she was a pistol and so so fun. Over all this book was worth the read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Lethal Intent Cara C. Putman

5 out of 5 stars

 Description:

If they expected silence, they hired the wrong woman.

Caroline Bragg’s life has never been better. She and Brandon Lancaster are taking their relationship to the next level, and she has a new dream job as legal counsel for Praecursoria—a research lab that is making waves with its cutting-edge genetic therapies. The company’s leukemia treatments even promise to save desperately sick kids—kids like eleven-year-old Bethany, a critically ill foster child at Brandon’s foster home.

When Caroline’s enthusiastic boss wants to enroll Bethany in experimental trials prematurely, Caroline objects, putting her at odds with her colleagues. They claim the only goal at Praecursoria is to save lives. But does someone have another agenda?

Brandon faces his own crisis. As laws governing foster homes shift, he’s on the brink of losing the group home he’s worked so hard to build. When Caroline learns he’s a Praecursoria investor, it becomes legally impossible to confide in him. Will the secrets she keeps become a wedge that separates them forever? And can she save Bethany from the very treatments designed to heal her?

This latest romantic legal thriller by bestseller Cara Putman shines a light on the shadowy world of scientific secrets and corporate vendettas—and the ethical dilemmas that plague the place where science and commerce meet.

“Intriguing characters. Romantic tension. Edge-of-your-seat suspense. And a fast-paced ending that will leave you exhausted (in a good way!).” —Robert Whitlow, award-winning author of Promised Land

My thoughts on the book:

This author never seems to disappoint with her books, they always keep me on the edge of my seat wondering what is coming. That was the very case with this book, I get to thinking its one person who does it then she has another character acting shady and wondering if they did it. I really liked Caroline even though at one point I was yelling at her in this book. She has a heart of gold and will stop at nothing to help those she cares about or comes in contact with. Brandon was a huge heart for families who just need to be together. There is something that Brandon seeks and I really hope that the author intends to follow up with that situation in a future book because a girl has got to know. Overall this book is well worth the read, she keeps it clean and has you walking away wanting more. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Special Ops Seduction Megan Crane

3 star

Description:

She’s the last woman he ever wanted to see again…

After an official operation turned deadly, Jonas Crow began a new life in Grizzly Harbor with Alaska Force. But when fellow soldier Bethan Wilcox joins the group, she forces him to remember things he actively prefers to forget. That’s unforgivable enough. But now the two of them are forced together on a mission to uncover deadly secrets tied to their complicated past, and with the heat between them at a boil, forgiveness is the least of his worries…

And the only woman he needs.

Bethan Wilcox, one of the first women to make it through Army Ranger school, didn’t join Alaska Force to deal with Jonas’s foul temper. Or her own errant attraction to him. Thrown together in a race against the clock, they have to pretend to be a couple and play nice to throw the enemy off their scent. She knows better than to let their pretend love feel real…especially while time is running out.

Jonas has always been good at saving the world. But it’s Bethan he needs to save this time around—if she doesn’t save him first.

My thoughts on the book:

I liked Bethen I thought she was this hard @ss but also had this sweet side to her that only the very privileged got to see. The story was very predictable and to me sometimes all over the place. I found it hard to keep engaged in the story over all. I liked the Alaskan Force team and being able to catch up with those I have read about. I felt like the book seemed to have a lot of detail but also seemed to lack something. There was a situation between Bethan and Jonas that the author seemed to build on but when it came to head it really seemed minimal to what was really going on and made no sense for Jonas’ attitude to the situation. This book does have sexual content in it and may not be suitable for all. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A Cowboy for Keeps Jody Hedlund

3 out of 5 stars for me

 Description:

Greta Nilsson’s trip west to save her ailing little sister, Astrid, could not have gone more wrong. First, bandits hold up her stagecoach, stealing all her money. Then, upon arriving in Fairplay, Colorado, she learns the man she was betrothed to as a mail-order bride has died. Homeless, penniless, and jobless, Greta and her sister are worse off than when they started.

Wyatt McQuaid is struggling to get his new ranch up and running and is in town to purchase cattle when the mayor proposes the most unlikely of bargains. He’ll invest in a herd of cattle for Wyatt’s ranch if Wyatt agrees to help the town become more respectable by marrying and starting a family. And the mayor, who has promised to try to help Greta, has just the candidate in mind for Wyatt to marry.

My thoughts on the book:

This book is set in the 1800’s, and is more of a western romance style book. The storyline was cute overall. I did like Astrid, she was a pistol and being a handful summed her up for sure. I really liked Judd, he was a silent type but when he spoke it was with wisdom and you took notice. The book was a clean read overall. I do feel like the book did drag some so I had a hard time keeping my attention. I felt like something was missing in a sense but if you are looking for a clean read that’s a mail order bride on her journey to find a better place for her sister, then this book might be for you. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Airborne DiAnn Mills

5 out of 5 stars

Description:

Heather Lawrence’s long-awaited vacation to Salzburg wasn’t supposed to go like this. Mere hours into the transatlantic flight, the Houston FBI agent is awakened when passengers begin exhibiting horrific symptoms of an unknown infection. As the virus quickly spreads and dozens of passengers fall ill, Heather fears she’s witnessing an epidemic similar to ones her estranged husband studies for a living―but this airborne contagion may have been deliberately released.

While Heather remains quarantined with other survivors, she works with her FBI colleagues to identify the person behind this attack. The prime suspect? Dr. Chad Lawrence, an expert in his field . . . and Heather’s husband. The Lawrences’ marriage has been on the rocks since Chad announced his career took precedence over his wife and future family and moved out.

As more victims fall prey days after the initial outbreak, time’s running out to hunt down the killer, one who may be closer to the victims than anyone ever expected.

My thoughts on the book:

So I want to say as most readers know it doesn’t take an author over night to write a book but having this book release during a world wide pandemic just about did me in. I felt like I was there she could have ripped this from the headlines, it was super crazy. I like to guess who done it earlier on and write it down just to see if I was write in the end. Well in the case I was but it was totally touch and go for a while the author literally keeps you guessing what was around the next corner. I really liked this book I really like Heather and all her friends she made they each had a strength about them that just popped off the pages. Over all this was clean read book and so well worth it.

Boone Emily March

 Description:

In Eternity Springs: The McBrides of TexasNew York Times bestselling author Emily March presents a brand new arc set in the Lone Star State that features a family-linked trilogy within the author’s romantic series.

With his smooth talk, rugged good looks, and deep pockets, native Texan Boone McBride appears to be a man who has it all. Few people know about the heartbreak behind his decision to leave home, family, and career for the isolation of a small town in the Colorado Rockies. Luckily, time and life in Eternity Springs has worked its healing magic upon his wounded soul, so when he meets obviously troubled Hannah Dupree, Boone sees a chance to pay his good fortune forward. The last thing he anticipates is tumbling into love.

Tragedy has taken everything Hannah loves, and her will to keep going is failing. So when Boone strides into her life determined to save her, it’s easier to go along with him than to resist. Soon she is drawn into the fabric of life in Eternity Springs, and as her spirit begins to heal, her strength returns, and she’s able to go toe-to-toe with this hardheaded, big-hearted Texan. But just when love blooms and happiness is within their grasp, shadows from the past threaten. Hannah and Boone must stand strong and united in order to defeat old ghosts―if they are to create a brand-new life together.

My thoughts on the book:

The cousin’s are back, I was so glad to be able to catch up with Tucker, Jackson and now Boone. I really love Celeste she’s full of wisdom and guidance and does it in such a way that you don’t know what hits you until she’s done. I felt this book did deal with some tough subjects but in the end it was worth it. Nothing seems to be off limits with this author and I appreciate that because it makes the characters feel more like friends and less like fictional characters. Hannah has such a big heart and she is dealing with some things and looking for healing. I like that every time I read about Eternity Springs its seems like some one is looking for healing and Eternity Springs is just that place to find that healing. Boone did come off pushy sometimes but its really hard not to like him and see where his heart is. For those who are content sensitive: this book contains non-graphic scenes of sexual content. Overall this book is really good and I could not put it down so worth the read. I can’t wait to see who shows up in Eternity Springs next. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

A Midwife for Sweetwater and A New Face in Town Susan Payne

 Description:

A Midwife for Sweetwater     Young Rebecca Johansen had just signed a contract making her Sweetwater, Kansas’ midwife. Despite her misgivings she knew she would be useful to the growing town and a dependable source of medical care for the women and children living there.     Although she had never heard of such a generous salary nor the fact she had been hired and brought there by the future fathers of the town’s children, she felt blessed to be chosen.  Now she was determined not to let those men or their families down.     Even though keeping a secret of her own, she felt she could more than fulfill her duties.  But will her passion and mutual desire for one man be more of a stumbling block than she ever could have conceived?

A New Face In Town     Frightened and alone, Victoria Watkins was fighting to make right what had suddenly become very, very wrong.  Once thinking she had her whole future set out for her, she finds herself in a strange town seeking work without any credentials or confidence.  After all, what could a poor girl raised in the tobacco fields of Tennessee offer a growing town like Sweetwater?     And what was she to do when Mason, the local sheriff, all but calls her a felon and danger to the town?  How could she explain her stupidity or expect any help from total strangers who didn’t quite trust her either?     And the other feelings the she had to push aside only caused her more distress.  She had only been trying to find a family to belong to, a place to call home and a man to want her for herself. Would her desire for the man who held her in such contempt be her downfall?

My thoughts on the book:

A Midwife for Sweetwater- I liked this story more than I liked the first two books in book one. Daniel and Rebecca both had huge insecurities they needed to overcome to be who they strive to be. But both faced things that continue to make them wonder if Sweetwater was where they would find their happy ever after. I did like catching up with Abby. She was one of my favorites from the other book I read. A New Face in Town- This story was just ok I felt like it was pretty predictable and not really my favorite out of the four stories I have read. I liked Mason and Matthew both have big hearts and will do anything to protect women woman who are being sold and traded. I liked Victoria she was nice but she almost seemed like she really had to try to hard to fit in to Sweetwater and it just didn’t seem to fit from the other stories. In both stories there is sexual content which seems to be the majority of the book to be honest. over all the stories were ok just not for me. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This Cowboy of Mine R.C. Ryan

 Description:

New York Times bestselling author R.C. Ryan takes readers on a wild ride with a strong heroine who must trust the cowboy trying to save her life.

A cowboy with a wild side

Kirby Regan isn’t opposed living on the edge. After all, she just quit her career in Washington, D.C., so she could move back to Wyoming and buy her family’s ranch. But hiking the Tetons after dark during a snowstorm goes beyond being adventurous, especially when Kirby’s boss warns her that an escaped convict is at large. Sheltering in a cave seems the safest option to ride out the blizzard-until Kirby realizes it’s already occupied . . . by a ruggedly handsome cowboy.

Like the mustangs he treats, veterinarian and rancher Casey Merrick prefers to live wild and free, which is why a relationship is not in the cards for him. He doesn’t mind sharing his space with a gorgeous stranger, as long as they can both keep their distance-a task that begins to seem impossible as the attraction between them heats up. But before they can worry about the spark smoldering between them, Casey must find a way to protect Kirby from nature’s most ruthless conditions . . . and a convicted killer on the loose.

Includes the bonus novel Wildflower Ranch, a continuation of Daisies in the Canyon, by New York Times bestselling author Carolyn Brown!

My thoughts on the book:

I read the first book of the series and was happy when this one came out. I was glad to see the Merrick family back and I loved catch up with them. I really have high hopes that Liz will get her own story one day because just like in book one this book opens up to Liz a little more. I really liked Casey he knew what he wanted and he went after it with guns a blazing and nothing was going to stop him. He had a big heart for helping injured souls. Man Kirby was not what I expected she was a pistol as well. She is broken but comes back to Wyoming to find healing and hopes to find home again. There is some graphic details towards the end of this story, there is also sexual content in this book so may not be suitable for all. I really did enjoy reading this book over all and had a hard time putting it down wanting to find out what happened next. I really can’t wait to see who grandma Meg is cooking up for Jonah…. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Harrison Ranch and Macgregor’s Mail Order Bride Susan Payne

  Description:

Harrison Ranch –
Callie St. Michaels, an orphan from New York, felt her only hope for the future was to leave her sous chef position in St Louis. Finding a job as cook for a group of ranch hands in Sweetwater, Kansas, seemed both prophetic and serendipitous. Everyone is happy with the outcome except for one man – Seth Harrison, the owner of the ranch and Callie’s employer.
Seth isn’t sure why, but he feels uncomfortable around the young woman his attorney hired as the ranch hands’ cook. She hasn’t said anything improper, or is unable to do the work required, or is off-putting in any manner. In fact, she is well liked by all the other employees. So why does he get so unsettled around her?

Macgregor Brother’s Mail Order Bride –
Mac, the oldest of the Macgregor family finds himself in need of a wife. His younger brothers have graduated university and at thirty-three he feels it time to marry and raise his own children on his ranch outside Sweetwater, Kansas. Answering the ad from a mail-order-bride, he is prepared for anything the young widow brings to the table.
Mavis Miller is frightened of the large man meant to be her husband. Her friend, Emily Johnston, tries to help the couple find a balance. Although Mavis tries to meet the man half-way, she can’t get over feeling their relationship is doomed. Especially when stronger desires pull her in another direction leaving Emily to tell Mac there won’t be a wedding.
His response? “Somebody owes me a wife!”

My thoughts on the book:

There is two separate stories in this book. The first one was ok. I loved Sully and Jamie they both had the biggest hearts and would do just about anything for anyone. I like Callie she was fierce and took chance and was super independent. I was not a fan of Seth he came off like a jerk and arrogant and he didn’t seem to truly care for Callie he just didn’t want anyone else to have her. In book two I felt like there was too much going on and in the beginning and it was hard to figure out who was the person talking and who was what. This story was very predictable. You do follow four people, you have Jamie, Mac, Mavis and Emily. I did like Emily she was a pretty strong headed person and would do anything for those she loved and cared for. I felt like with Mac he was more of a “caveman” type guy and I seem to roll my eyes with him then anything. Jamie was fun but immature. Over all both stories were ok. Both stories did have sexual content in them so it may not be suitable for all readers. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

  Description:

A man holding on…

Riley Kittredge has always known exactly what he wanted. His land, his horses. His woman. He met and married Rae Trujillo far too young, and their young love combusted right after they said their vows. But their passion has never managed to burn itself out. Yet when Rae shows this time, it’s not a night of pleasure she demands, but a divorce.

A woman letting go…

Rae should have moved on a long time ago. She knows she and Riley just don’t work. They might make great lovers, but that doesn’t make a marriage. And now Rae wants a new life, complete with a baby. But when her husband offers to be a father, to give her the family she’s always secretly desired, she and Riley will both have to face demons from their past—and choose love over fear at last.

“Loaded with charming characters [and] wit….will win the heart of any romance fan.”—Publishers Weekly (starred review) on A True Cowboy Christmas

My thoughts on the book:

I really was not a fan of this book, I felt like it dragged a lot. I liked Riley he was a pistol he was a stubborn mule and he was totally set in his way but even in the middle of everything he still could crack a joke. Rae was completely whiney, I also felt the reason for leaving took forever to “figure” out. I did like Hope and Abby they were amazing friends. I really felt like this book played off more as high schoolers then adults in their 30’s. There is a Second story in the end which was super cute. I liked Conner in the first story so I was glad to be able to read his story.  I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
