From This Moment Kim Vogel Sawyer

Description:

A lost ring brings together two wounded souls—a youth minister haunted by the past and a spunky church custodian—in this heartwarming romance from the bestselling author of The Librarian of Boone’s Hollow.

“Kim Vogel Sawyer is an amazing storyteller who crafts each of her stories with page-turning excitement and rich character development.”—Tracie Peterson, bestselling author of the Golden Gate Secrets series

Growing up in the foster care system, Jase Edgar always dreamed of one day starting his own family. But his fiancée’s untimely death shattered his plans. Moving to Kansas and serving as a youth minister should be a fresh start, but he can’t seem to set aside his doubts about God’s goodness long enough to embrace his new life.

Newly-appointed church custodian, Lori Fowler is battling her own challenges. Her strained relationship with her father and her struggles with overeating convince her she’s not worthy enough for love. When an Amish weaver enlists their help locating the owner of a ring found among the donated clothing she uses as fabric, Jase and Lori find themselves drawn to each other. But will they be able to release the past and move forward from this moment into a joyful future?

My thoughts on the book:

I felt like this book really surrounded three people not just Lori, and Jase. I felt like Kenzie’s story was just as equally important to the whole story. I typically feel like to many people in a story makes it hard to keep up with what is happening I do not feel that way this book I felt the author did a great job and telling each story equally. I loved Kenzie she has a heart of gold but also has a way of just being who God designed her to me. I really was not a huge fan of Lori I just found her off putting she just came off as a desperate person. I feel like in the end the author did an amazing job that showed God’s powerful love even in the brokenness. This book is a clean read and suitable for all readers. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

HOT ON THE ICE Anna Sugden

2 out of 5 stars

Description:

Lily Eddison is on the way to making it—her personalized, gourmet chocolates are in high demand. She has it all going on…until her landlord pulls the rug out from under her. Now she needs investors but the last person she expects or wants to save the day is the oh-so-hot, but arrogant, pro-hockey player Dante “Fireman” Taylor.

Hockey is Dante’s life and as the Docker’s star defensemen, he has no time for love. An opportunity to invest in Lily’s dream is just business, even though he can’t stop thinking about the gorgeous chocolatier. Despite his reluctance to be in a relationship, Dante and Lily move from partners to friends to lovers and he’s all in… Until an obsessive fan’s revenge tanks their romance and it’s dead on the ice.

Great hockey players know they have to take more shots on goal to score a hat trick and Dante gives it his all to prove to Lily that off the ice, she’s the only one for him.

My thoughts on the book:

This book was not for me, I really wanted to like this book I love me a good love story but I had the hardest time just getting into the story. I felt like the constant back and forth with Lily and Dante felt more like a constant tug of war and felt more like a bunch of high school drama then two grown adults. I did however like Amy, Jessie, Savannah and Noah they are seriously some of the best hype person’s Lily and Dante could have in there lives. I did like what the author did have to say about Lily’s Aunt she seemed like a true pistol and would love to know more of her life story. In conclusion the story was ok kind of drags making it seem a little long. There is sexual content in this book so it may not be suitable for all. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

My thoughts on the book:

I really liked this book it was super cute very Cowboy love story for sure. Lucienne is on the “run” hoping to get away from her life even if its for a moment. Brock just wants to find where he fits in life while everyone around him seems to have someone. I really like the closeness of the Paxton family no matter what they all stood by each other and had each others back. Lucienne she was a fighter and willing to help no matter what. I liked that the author kept the story clean I liked the story it was fun read and had a hard time putting it down overall. I did not read the It was also fun catching up with Ava and Beau from book one can’t wait to see where the author goes next with the Paxton family. I received a complimentary copy of this book. First published as A Cowboy’s Tears
My thoughts on the book:

This book was very good and super emotional. I think this is the first time I have read this style of book where the couple is already married and one is fighting to keep it that way. I think for anyone who has ever dealt with infertility this book might his a little close to home, but it was so good and the author truly did not sugar coat anything which was nice. I loved Becky man she is a spit fire and she seems so wise beyond her years. there is a mild sexual content in the book but not graphic. This book was so worth the read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

My thoughts on the book:

So if you have been following my reviews for long you know I like finding new to me authors, and here is one of those. So this is a new to me author and because of that I have not read any of the other books in the series. This book did not disappoint. From the beginning to the end some of it has you on the edge of your seat. I really liked Grace and her story. I did feel that the book was predictable but it still did not take away from the story overall. I liked Caleb and his story it was deep and emotional for sure. I would say that for those who are content sensitive: this book contains non-graphic scenes and descriptions of a sexual assault. The book other then that is a good clean read and may be suitable for the right age. I would totally recommend this book very quick read and worth it. I received a complimentary copy of this book. The Mountain Monroes

Book 1: Kissed by the Country Doc
Book 2: Snowed in with the Single Dad
Book 3: Rescued by the Perfect Cowboy
Book 4: Lassoed by the Would-Be Rancher
Book 5: Enchanted by the Rodeo Queen
Book 6: Charmed by the Cook’s Kids
Book 7: The Littlest Cowgirls

My thoughts on the book:

I am so excited I got to catch up with the Mountain Monroes’ again. I always feel like this family is loud in your face, yet down to earth and some how in all the craziness a little relatable. I loved catching up with the characters from the other books kind of makes me want to go back and re-read those stories again. I really have to be honest at first and off an on through out the book I really wanted to smack Wyatt he was so pompous and so far up his you know what he became wishy washy but in the end he goes on you and you get it. I liked Ashley why she had some guilt she dealt with it didn’t seem like taking “no” was ever an answer she was stubborn and would stop at nothing to make sure her sister had what she needed. I really overall enjoyed reading this book I liked that the author did keep it a clean read as well. I am not sure if this is the last of the Monroes or not but I hope not they have just been so fun read about and I truly can not wait for more. I received a complimentary copy of this book. 4.5 out of 5 stars

Desperate, she resigns from her partnership at a legal firm and moves back to her hometown in Whitefish, Montana, with the hope that family and nature can heal their wounds. Her investment in a heli-skiing and lodge operation makes financial sense, but her attraction to the owner doesn’t. He’s everything she’s come to hate—a man who makes his living chasing adventure.

Jake Hartman knows Maureen Shannon is off limits. She’s an investor in his company—a silent investor who’s never silent. Worse, she’s a mom who’s beautiful, intelligent and makes him feel more alive than he’s ever known. A self-confirmed bachelor, he finds himself uneasily contemplating a very different partnership.

But will Maureen be able to let go of her past and build a future with a man who never imagined becoming a husband or a father?

My thoughts on the book:

I really enjoyed this story I am sure this is the finally for this series and if that is the case then the author went out with a bang with this one. You know a twist is coming but you are not sure what the author is going to throw at you with this one that was for sure. I Maureen my heart broke for her and some of the things she faced were tough. I liked Jake he came off a little immature but you do see him grow in this story. Holly I would have loved to see her get a hard talking to, ugh the amount of disrespect was a lot, but I see in the end why the author did what she did. Over all this is a good clean read and I really did enjoy it and had a hard time putting it down. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Ethan: Black Sheep Cowboy, Maddie James The Parker Ranches, Inc., #7

 Description:

Navy SEAL Ethan MacKay returns to Sweet Grass Ranch to recuperate from an injury suffered on a mission, and eventually help manage the South Dakota family ranch with his identical twin brother, Evan. But he’s been gone too long, and he’s not the man who left the ranch over a dozen years ago. Not by a long shot. His body broken, and hopefully not his mind, he prays what they say is true–that cowboy runs deep in your blood–because this black sheep cowboy could sure use something familiar to hang his hat on.

But being back home at Sweet Grass is almost more of a challenge than heading up a special ops mission in Libya, especially when something familiar turns out to be the major challenge–his ex-wife, Brandley Mendoza.

Brandley and Ethan’s marriage quickly unraveled when he headed into SEAL training, and by the time of his first deployment, their relationship was fatally severed. Still, she keeps in close contact with the MacKays and considers them family. Hired by Ethan’s brother to review the ranch’s accounting books after their father’s death, Brandley soon discovers Evan has an ulterior motive. Why he thinks she is the person to help Ethan get his head back on straight, she doesn’t know, especially when she’s dealing with problems of her own–namely, her ex-husband, who is seeking full custody of their daughter.

But she risks coming down from her Black Hills safe haven to find out–only to realize that her heart is still vulnerable, and that Ethan isn’t the cowboy she fell in love with when they were kids.

Can Brandley tease out the cowboy in Ethan’s black sheep heart and rediscover the love they once shared? Can she resolve the issues of her own shaky past, to let herself trust again? Or are they both too far gone to even try?

My thoughts on the book:

This is a new to me author so I did not know what to expect with this book. In the beginning of the book I felt like the curse words were just a little to much, I mean a curse word here and there is a book I can work with but it seemed for a good portion of the beginning it felt like every other word. Once you get to about the middle of the book things get really interesting and I did find the book hard to put down after that. I Like Bradley and Ethan but I felt like even though it was their story being told it also came back to being about Ethan’s family and how they need to work to help each other out which was fun. I loved Sadie why she was young and she faced some tough things the author didn’t sugar coat it at all which made the story relatable. Over all this book while has strong language and sexual content it was a good read. I feel like this is not the end for this group so who knows next where the author will take this family. I received a complimentary copy of this book. A Perfect Amish Romance Shelley Shepard Gray

5 out of 5 stars

  Description:

From New York Times bestselling author Shelley Shepard Gray comes a new series that follows a bookmobile driver-turned-matchmaker who learns that her Amish patrons need a whole lot more than just new books to read.

Aaron Coblentz has a secret: he’s been studying to take the GED to get promoted at work. But he can’t let his Amish family know, not when his older brother already left the faith just a year after getting baptized, practically crippling the family. When Aaron asks bookmobile librarian Sarah Anne Miller for some additional study guides, she does one better. She arranges for Kayla Kaufman to be his tutor.

Kayla has a secret, too. Her life has been turned upside down in a matter of months—her mother’s death propelled her father into a constant state of depression, and unable to deal with his erratic behavior, her longtime boyfriend has broken things off. But despite losing those she holds most dear, she hasn’t completely given up on love. Only now she seeks to find it in the sweet romance novels she secretly checks out from Sarah Anne’s bookmobile.

As Aaron and Kayla’s study sessions start to feel less like work and more like pleasure, they soon realize that happily ever afters don’t only happen in fiction; sometimes they happen when you least expect it.

From a “skilled storyteller who reminds the reader that faith can help us survive the ups and downs in life” (RT Book Reviews), A Perfect Amish Romance is a moving and deftly told story that paints a heartwarming picture of the magic of true love.

My thoughts on the book:

I really liked this book, I felt like the book was more geared towards a younger reader (teenagers), however I feel like as an adult reader it was still a very fun read. I liked Kayla she was very independent and very strong willed willing to keep fighting now matter what she faced. Aaron he came off kind of immature at first but I felt like the more you read he seems to grow up a lot. Joel and Tiny was fun to read about as well and you can tell they were both immature but looking to grow up as well. I LOVED Sarah she was hands down my favorite she has a heart for everyone that comes into her life weather big or small, long or short. She truly felt like an angel/grandmother to so many in this book while trying to find more about her self. I really don’t think I can say anything negative about this book over all it was just a really good read and draws you in and you want to find out what is going to happen next. This is a good clean read as well.

My thoughts on the book:

I have read a few books in this series and have really enjoyed them it was really fun to catch up with past characters in this book. I really liked this book a lot. I feel like some books have a lesson to learn in them I’m not sure if authors intend for that but it happens. I feel like that was the case in this story. We each need to conquer our fears and find the love in them and around ourselves. I really liked how Sophie, Trisha, and Nadine all felt like real people and not characters it was easy to feel like I was catching up with friends with them. I did like Chase he seemed like he knew what he wanted but also took the time to want to learn. Over all this was a clean read and a fun read. I received a complimentary copy of this book.
