Life is good on their Pennsylvania Amish farm for newlyweds Vic and Eleanor Lapp—until the day Vic’s youngest brother drowns in their pond and Vic turns to alcohol to numb the pain. Things get so bad that Vic loses his job and their marriage is coming apart. Eleanor is desperate to help her husband and writes letters to her friend, Doretta, living in Indiana for advice. The trust Eleanor places in her friend and the gentle words she receives in return are a balm for even darker days to come in this first book of The Friendship Letters series by New York Times Bestselling Author Wanda E. Brunstetter.

My Review:

Sometimes tragedy puts us in a dark place and the “Why’s” always feel so unanswered. Addiction does not discriminate again anyone either, and that was very much the case in this book as Vic faced alcoholism as a copy mechanism and it seemed things just continued to spiral out of control from there. I found Eleanor strong and a fighter she has such a big heart but also is not afraid to ask for help when she is push. I adored Susie she loved Eleanor like one of her own she also was not one to mince words she truly was a fun charactered to read. I this book Eleanor’s best friends, her parents, and Vic’s parents all told a small portion of the story sometimes I feel like this can be confusing however the author did an amazing job at keeping things flowing and making things make sense and the story just kept flowing. Overall this book was a really good read, even with a tough topic it was really well written and worth the read. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

And he’s not sure even Autumn could save him.

As the stakes rise and the dangers increase, Autumn and Grier must rely on each other to extinguish the deadly threats.

My Review:

I really like this book. Just when you think you have it all figured out the author those in a twist and keeps you guessing. I liked Autumn she was a fighter and would stop at nothing to keep your friends, family and town safe. She truly had everyones best interest at heart. Grier was Mr mystery, I am usually not a huge fan of when an author drags out a mystery of a character however in this case it played out really well. I really enjoyed this book overall and could not put it down well worth the read!!

Description:

They’ll have to get past the awkwardness and mistrust to solve this case–especially because it’s about to get personal.

USA Today bestselling author Lynette Eason doesn’t give you time to catch your breath in this breakneck race to stop a serial killer.

My Review:

This book was so amazing, I could not put it down. It will put you on the edge of. your seat. I really like Grace she was a really a strong independent women and she was a fighter and would stop at nothing to catch this killer. Sam was so broken over who his is and it seems to cost him so much and also some just can’t seem to let it go. I really liked Vanessa she was someone everyone needs in there life she was loyal and would call it like she saw it all why showing those she loved unconditional love and support, she hands down was my favorite. I think this is a powerful book and because of the subject matter may be rough for some. However is you like true crime and like a little edge of you seat then this book is just what you need. Overall this author kept this book a clean read and its worth it.

Honor Bound Hallee Bridgeman

Description:

It may seem odd to seek peace by moving to a war-torn African country, but for medical missionary Dr. Cynthia Myers, it provided a way to escape a shallow life of unearned wealth, a philandering fiancé, and a father now square in the public eye as vice president of the United States. At least here she knows her work and life have meaning. But all that is thrown into chaos when she fails to save the life of a local warlord’s mortally wounded son.

As part of the Army Special Forces “A-Team” on a mission to capture and subdue the warlord, Captain Rick Norton is compelled to use deadly force to save Cynthia’s life. Enraged at the violence she witnessed and riddled with guilt that men died because of her, Cynthia tries to hold on to her anger–but an unwanted attraction is taking hold.

With two members of his team badly injured and rebels in hot pursuit, Rick will have to draw upon all his strength and cunning to get her out alive . . . because he’s beginning to think they just might overcome their differences and be able to make a life together.

My Review:

This is a new to me author and I was not disappointed. This book will have you on the edge of your seat one minute to watching the characters try and find healing. The first half of this book will have you on the edge of your seat why the second portion of the book slows things down a little and has you on another journey with the characters. I want so much more of Ozzy’s story I feel like that story is going to be gut wrenching. I liked Rick a lot he was a strong character with determination for his friends and his country. He did not have a hero complex but stayed humble while doing what he loved. I liked Cynthia, in the beginning she felt like she needed to grow up a little bit but she too had a heart for those less fortunate and worked hard to become a better person while making the world a better place. Over all the author kept this book a clean read and it was well worth it. Can’t wait to read more about these characters.

Susan May Warren brings her Sky King Ranch series to a climactic close with this high-stakes race against the clock.

My Review:

This author never disappoints. This book was once again that I found hard to put down. I really liked how the author made the characters feel real. I loved Tae she really struggled with decisions that she made in her life and she also struggled with her faith after a tragic loss, but she was a fighter and would not stop at anything to fight to change the world and make it a better place. Colt is a fighter and he wants the best but he is struggling with his own demons and just can’t seem to get out of his head and into his heart. The story line was well played out and will keep you guessing to the end on what’s going to happen next. Overall I loved the main and sub characters and I loved the core value of the story. The author did keep this a clean read and it was well worth it.

The Wedding Ranch Nancy Naigle

Description:

A second chance at love awaits two brokenhearted people if they’re just willing to trust each other—and themselves, in USA Today bestselling author Nancy Naigle’s The Wedding Ranch

When Lorri Walker’s husband gifted her with a mastiff puppy on Valentine’s Day, she believed he was recommitting himself to their marriage after going astray. Six months later, he left both her and their dog for someone else. Since her recent move to Dalton Mill to unbraid herself from the past, Lorri’s graphic design business is now flourishing, her growing mastiff, Mister, has plenty of space to romp, and her ex in Raleigh can fade to a distant memory.

Ryder Bolt is haunted by the tragic loss of his wife and young son seven years ago. Thankfully, ranching keeps Ryder busy, and spending time with his niece and nephew—whose venue, The Wedding Ranch, has become a popular tourist destination—keeps him from getting lonely.

When Lorri and Ryder met, love was the last thing they were looking for. When they’re together, smiles come easier and burdens feel lighter, and both are embracing the possibility of something deeper.

But when a long-buried revelation surfaces, the fate that brought them together threatens to tear them apart.

My Review:

This book was amazing, seriously had the hardest time putting it down, and then when it was over I just wanted so much more. This book had so many emotions in it. The author also did an amazing job at making you feel like you were right there in the story the whole time. I really like Lorri, she had this big heart and she was so relatable but she also came off as putting people at arms length, but that  felt like it was for the purpose of finding healing and forgiveness in the pain she face. Ryder was a big old grouch except when it came to family then he would do just about anything for them, His world stopped the day he lost his wife and son but his family and his small town was trying to help him find himself again. I loved Reece and Ross what amazing characters and they just felt so real. I really hope this is not then end of the story with these characters I am so ready for more. Overall I really could not say anything bad about this book it was worth the read hands down. I also liked that the author kept it clean so it would be suitable for all readers.

The Best Is Yet to Come Debbie Macomber

Description:

When a woman alone in the world bravely chooses to open her heart, two lost souls have a new chance at belonging, in this intimate novel from #1 New York Times bestselling author Debbie Macomber.

A new beginning in charming Oceanside, Washington, is exactly what Hope Godwin needs after the death of her twin brother. There are plenty of distractions, like her cozy cottage with the slightly nosy landlords next door, and a brewing drama among her students at the local high school.

Even having settled quickly into the community, Hope still feels something is still missing. That is, until her landlords convince her to volunteer at their animal shelter. There she meets Shadow, a rescue dog that everyone has given up on. But true to her name, Hope believes he’s worth saving.

Like Shadow, shelter volunteer Cade Lincoln Jr. is suffering with injuries most can’t see. A wounded ex-marine, Cade identifies with Shadow, assuming they are both beyond help. Hope senses that what they each need is someone to believe in them, and she has a lot of love to give. As she gains Shadow’s trust, Hope notices Cade begins to open up as well. Finding the courage to be vulnerable again, Cade and Hope take steps toward a relationship, and Hope finally begins to feel at peace in her new home.

But Hope’s happiness is put to the test when Cade’s past conflicts resurface, and Hope becomes embroiled in the escalating situation at the high school. Love and compassion are supposed to heal all wounds, but are they enough to help Hope and Cade overcome the pain of their past and the obstacles in the way of a better future?

My Review:

I really liked this book I really liked Hope and when life was rough for her she continue to rise above and try and make things better in her portion of the world. I liked Cade though even in one part of the book he came off like a toddler throwing a tantrum, he to continued to work on making a difficult situation into something better. This book follows not only Cade and Hope’s story but those of Hope’s students which right off the bat I thought was going to go one way and it didn’t. However the author used and opportunity bring to light something I am sure is happening in schools everywhere. I loved the small town feel of the book and how you feel like you are there in the midst watching it all play out. Over all this book is a good clean read and well worth it.

USA Today bestselling author Elizabeth Goddard weaves a tangled web of nail-biting suspense and heart-stopping romance in this fast-paced conclusion to her Rocky Mountain Courage series.

My Review:

This book was so dang good, I just could not put it down. So this is a book that would fall under don’t read alone if you jump at every noice lol. I love Mackenzie I think like so many of us she beats herself ups for choices she made in the past but fights every day to make it right. She’s a fighter and would stop at nothing including pushing the limits to help her family. Alex he was out to make things right for the families who lost loved ones up in the hills including his dad. He was another fighter. I felt like when you take these two you never knew what was going to be more stubborn about doing what. This author threw some twist and turns in right till the very end. I so wanted more in the end I was not disappointed with the ending but just wanted more. I loved how this author keeps you on the edge of your seat with what’s going to happen next. Overall I really enjoyed this book if you can’t tell 🙂 and I would totally recommend it.

I really liked Brooke she was such a fighter and loved wholeheartedly. Noah was a protector of anyone who he truly cared about.
